God I miss 2142. I was leaderboard for knifing and mechs for a while. EA goes out of their way to pretend it never existed and that is super sad.

With the next BF game in development I doubt they’re going to drop the Portal game mode from 2042 so it might have like a 2.0 version in the next game. Since the 2142 ties into bf4 and 2042 I think Dice might try bring it into future Portal. Would be pretty sweet to see it in better quality and maybe even battling different ages of battlefield

2142 was not made by the DICE team that made the BF games. The game did not sell well either, very few people had interest in it. IMO, it never got any love and attention from the publisher and studio. Some people liked the game, most people did not like it. Just unfortunate that you were one of the few that liked it.

Dang, my fellow knife leaderbord! I was at the top too, for quite short time, but still. And one of the damn best gunship pilots. It's so sad EA and people at the time pretended game is bad when in reality game were damn good.

As BF2142 fans, I love it. I wish we got BF2142 rebooth/remake. I always like EU Riesig. The most coolest battle walker in the game history. If EA plan to remake BF2142. I expect Riesig redesign would be based from your design. I would love to see more BF2142 vehicles redesign or new vehicle ideas. EU: A8 Tiger Tank UD6 Talon VTOL Gunship MK-15 Bandit FAV A3 Goliath Heavy IFV PAC: T39 Bogatyr Type 32 Nekomata Hovertank Type 36 Hashimoto Assault Hover Speeder Type 4 Doragon VTOL Gunship PS: The only thing this mech is missing are EMP Missile+Anti Aircraft and Energy Shield.

Man, I miss this game. It was just so much damn fun. Piling into a transport, screaming low with guns blazing before you and your squad bail onto an objective point, hoping you can hold it against the tank that's pounding the area from range. Or, storming the enemy carrier to blow the reactor, and bailing before it goes critical.

I really wish i could go back to 2142. My favorite class was recon, with the stealth cloak that you had to push a button to use. Nothing like creeping through enemy lines and causing chaos. Does anybody remember drop pod surfing?

Ahh a fellow ghost recon. The group i played with back then sorta specialized in playing recons with stealth tech (and ghost beacons for radar mayhem) to form an infiltration squad that wrecked havoc behind enemy lines.

Ferro-Fibrous Endo Steel tech is from Battletech lol. And that's the mech from BF2142. The Riesig Uses this Armour: Steel + Reinforced Plastic laminates Outer Layered Insulating Materials

@@joshvan_nemo Your ranges are short. I believe BT's "canon" ranges are like 3x every tabletop rangeband in meters A 20mm round can hurt someone over a kilometer away, though useful range is... variable.

@@KoishiVibin that depends if you use various rules or not. There is a rule where, after a certain number of hexes, the real range is 'to horizon' and the ranges in the game are more for playability than anything.

I'm still not sure how to feel about replacing the iconic ADS, with more conventional countermeasures. On one hand it could help the Riesig lose some weight, and free up more power from the reactor, but on the other hand, it would make it much more susceptible to EMP-based weapons, that are extremely common on XXII century's Battlefield. Still, an outstanding work. It warms my heart to see the 2142 fans, still making content.

On the walk cycle I would make the torso lift up and then slam down when foot connects to ground to create a "weight" effect

As a reminder, APS doesn't stop apfsds. It might reduce it's penetration, but a modern tungsten (Its not doing shit to DU) dart is still punching 400mm of RHA, that's 15 inches rolled homogenous armor.

I also like PAC. I always used Type 32 Nekomata Hovertank, Type 4 Doragon Gunship and Type 36 Hachimoto Assault Hoverspeeder. What make PAC unique is their firearms(caseless+plasma) including hover/anti gravity vehicle. Till this day, I'm still curious how would it be possible to add plasma energy into caseless ammunition to make it more lethal than conventional brass ammo?

It's perfect game design, PAC had rounded-fluid designs with plasma based weapons while EU had blocky designes with standard gunpowder ammo.

@@Filiplego1 Yep. If we ever have BF2142 remake/rebooth. I expect every weapons, vehicles and other cool gadgets/equipment got redesign. And don't forget, lots of gun attachments. For example: SCAR11+Laser Sight+Holo Sight+Missile Launcher Krylov FA37+Railgun Launcher+Suppressor+Red Dot Sight

Nice, but all those mecha concepts can't hold the anti-tank minefields. It's the same as for foot troops, just with larger mines. Ten steps and your mech finds itself without a leg.

Imagine if EA had an ounce of sense, saw the modern warfare trend slowing, and released BF2143 instead. Now in 2024, futuristic shooters are cool again (just look at Helldivers & all the indie games like Out of Action) and modern warfare & zombies are out. They could have jump-started the trend.

Ну так себе, если не вникать, красиво, если понимаешь, то нету веса, нету инерции движения, все сделано так, как будто он весит 100кг а не 5-7 тонн. анимация стрельбы бедная, анимация корпуса бедная, анимация движения я уже сказал, слишком простая. Красивые только визуальные эффекты, да ракурсы норм, сама идея норм, а все остальное так себе.
