I'm sorry to see you've been dealt such a shitty hand on this go round, but it could happen to any of us at any given moment. You strike me as a tough dude. I don't know you but I know it sucks to have to go through what you're going through. The body and spirit can come back from alot. I know a guy that got hurt when I did that was riding a few weeks later with a prosthetic. It took me a few years. We all find our way. Hope for a strong and fast recovery sir! You've been in mine and my wife's thoughts.

Went for a ride this afternoon and you were in my mind. You inspired me to take the chance and trust my beat up old KLR to carry my ass through three states and back on the TAT, and I found a new level of mental peace on those Mississippi dirt roads. I'm so glad I did it, and I'm so glad you did it first to show me it was possible. Thank you. Nothing but respect for your attitude through this, you're clearly thinking about the situation critically and accepting the outcome. That's not an easy thing to do. Much love, brother.

I lost use of whole arm in moto crash. Phantom pain was wicked!! Also suicidal thoughts. Nothing helped pain until i got an anti depressant from a psychologist? called Amitryptiline. I needed 4-500 mg. But i finally got to sleep a full night. My obsessive worrying, anxiety, was making pain worse! I wheened myself off of the high dosage over 6 month period! Now i only need 10 mg. To get a full nights sleep! This medication allowed me stop obsessively focussing on my arm pain. It helped me remove my attention to other things, and that was what i needed. The more my mental attention was on my pain, the worse it got! Talk about instant karma! Keeping busy with things i enjoy are a big help to distract me from my pain. Listening to my favorite music, with headphones helped distract me from pain while in hospital. You will get better brother. It is inevitable! I got back on a bike 2 yrs. Later! I ride single handed. Motorcycle travelling was in the top 3 things that made me happy in life! I had to do it! But i ride super safely on no more than a 250cc. Excessive speeding helped cause my accident! My crash was in 1996!

Isn't there any way to save your leg??? Look... I was hit by a drunk driver in 1989. My fiance was DOA... My son and I survived. We were in the hospital for a bit. My son was 3 years old then and had two broken legs and a y cast and a broken nose. I was a mess... The only spot on me that wasn't black and blue was the size of a quarter on my chest. Seriously... My right leg was almost torn off at the knee and it took 150 stitches to put it back together. They didn't know if it would work or not. Well it worked. I have my leg. Yes it was extremely painful and morphine didn't even help. I lived through it and what helped me was I started doing isometrics with my legs in bed in the hospital. That kept the blood flow and built up the muscle a little bit enough for me to start walking on it a little bit. First time I got up I fell to the floor. You know you're going to have to go through the pain and sometimes the painkillers won't work. You'll make it through that. I exercise my legs everyday. I just do stretches every day and it keeps everything pretty good and in shape. Just be strong and keep the faith and you'll make it through all of this... I'm sending you prayers 🙏🙏🙏

By the way, my plan once I’m too old to ride on two wheels, is a sidecar. Just throwing it out there.

Can't stop thinking about you lying in that hospital bed. Despite the fierce shadow banning, you have made a significant connection with far more people than you realize. I wish I could do something to cheer you up. I thought about riding one day each way just to sneak you some non-hospital food. Jello sucks. On the plus side, Vanderbilt is an excellent hospital and they do good work. Best wishes for a rapid recovery. Call if you want to chat, or if I can do anything for you.

i can understand that, its not a medical emergency and waiting till today will make it half price! its not a million dollars on memorial day, its 500k the day after. just how things work i guess. hope all goes as planed and you find contentment today. sit back and stay away from sugar and gluten items. bad for surgery and recovery. i have rehabbed a few motorcycle guys in my day. always good to hand out with and encourage to keep pushing forward to see some light.
