This is the last of the Asplundh JEY Whisper chipper bearing replacement videos showing off the new bearings. Yes, the chipper is incredibly quiet, relatively speaking. And once again for the credits to everyone who made this project possible: 1. Joseph Fazzio Inc, 407 Old Airport Rd, New Castle, De. - 2 Steel plates, they punched the holes for me using their "Ironworker" press - very cool to see 7/8 holes being pressed out of 7/8 material in seconds. 2. Fastenall - All thread, highest grade(M7?) they could get for me.3. Benz Hydraulics 153 South DuPont Hwy, New Castle, De - They rebuilt the Enerpac Cylinder before I could put it into operation. 4. Moses B. Glick LLC metal salvage 58 Hartz Rd, Fleetwood, Pa. 19522 - Aluminum Tubes to press in bearings. 5. My buddies Kevin, Pete & John who, without their help, none of this would have been possible! 5. Altec 1550 Aerial Avenue, Creedmore, N.C. incredible parts & technical support.

First rule of chuck 'n ducks: always use a push stick when pieces are smaller than the infeed chute!

Oh wow what an incredible noise is that a loud hum? Because I am so hooked on the chipper. It helps me cope with the chaos at the group home I live at.

If i were his boss and i saw him with his hands in the chute like that he'd be sitting in the truck rest of the day. Get a push stick or one day some shit you didnt anticipate will happen and part (if you're lucky) or ALL (if you're not) will end up as red jell-o in the back of the truck.

If you are not 'delighted', definitely. Make friends with a good machinist who has access to a surface grinder and offer him tree work. He will probably make a fixture for grinding all 4 at the same time so buy him lunch every opportunity you get.

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to push material into the drum with your hands and a quick way to lose a hand or an arm!!! Also, there is no safety curtain to block flying debris. I've been fascinated by chippers since my childhood and the first thing I learned from my physics class is they have a lot of kinetic energy which can cause serious or lethal injuries if you're not careful.

The safety curtain is really a hindrance. A good Stihl helmet with face & ear protection works much better. Now for the physics: Chipping speed: 177 fpm, Flywheel: 3 in wide, 26 in dia, weighing 441 lbs "...providing a minimum of 200,000 foot pounds of stored energy to ensure uniform chipping action." quoted from Altec manual 749-30004. How come they didn't say anything about the shear excitement and fun?
