Hello there!
Thank you all so much for staying with the channel through the bumpy ride of copyright and waiting for videos to come out, I figured I should have come out with this video a while ago and it is a little rushed but my goodness, I have so much work to do.
Here is a set of time stamps for each of the questions asked, so that you can find the info you want at your own leisure:
0:01:50 - Why the name Mauler?
0:06:32 - Have you ever put that awesome voice for narration to use in something other than KZfaq? (Audiobooks for instance)
0:09:15 - What kind of music do you listen to? Also why do you not like what I like!!!!!!
0:11:02 - What type of TV Series do you watch?
0:12:52 - What are some of your favourite games of all time?
0:14:06 - What is your recording set up?
0:15:06 - What type of mini-series do you watch?
0:15:40 - Do you do any scripting for the unbridled Praises/Rages
0:16:45 - Any modern franchises that have become better with time? Also what do you think of the Venom trailer?

0:19:28 - Is there any way to fix episode 9?
0:20:30 - How would you have made the sequel trilogy?
0:24:59 - Does Star Wars’ reputation have any hope after TLJ and Solo?
0:26:14 - Who is to blame for the quality of the new Star Wars films?
0:27:03 - Why do you think TLJ had such a positive response from seasoned critic?
0:29:40 - You have an appreciation for the prequels, do you plan a series exploring them?
0:30:34 - Do you think you will be able to muster up the energy to care about future Star Wars movies?
0:32:03 - How much and in what ways should I play a game to make sure I don’t get things wrong?
0:36:00 - What should my approach to the whole thing be?
0:38:10 - What are things to look out for in this field of video creation?
0:39:05 - What advice would you give new content creators?
0:40:38 - Do you think that someone’s opinion can be objectively wrong?
0:42:19 - How important is continuity?
0:45:14 - How do you think Infinity War would have turned out critically if Iron Man had simply killed Thanos?
0:46:36 - What is your perspective on the current state of backwards compatibility?
0:47:56 - Will you cover Halo as a series, in depth?
0:48:39 - Will you create a video talking about film atmosphere or what makes a good hero/villain?
0:49:19 - Will you make a series on someone else like the one on Hbomberguy?
0:50:40 - What content do you plan on making in the future?
0:52:35 - Are you going to make gaming content ever again?

Hey so I was just introduced to your channel and I love it. The long in depth reviews and critiques and rages. I've been binging on a lot of your videos and I have to say I'm in love. I don't agree with absolutely everything you say ( a lot of it though) or point you make, but it's so well researched that I feel like it actually makes my views or points better since I can both understand where you're coming from and why you feel the way you do. So basically by virtue of you doing so much insane research for a video you're able to get me to rethink my own views on things and while there is a bit of mind changing going on I feel like it does actually make the points of view I don't change stronger because I've had to defend them against legit points/criticism. I guess what I'm really trying to say is thanks for making these videos and this content. YT wouldn't be the same without you.

Well said! I know I'm a bit late but yeah. Contect creators like Mauler are so crucial nowadays. They make a point to listen and understand the views of people they disagree with in order to better understand their own position. That's why opposition is crucial to your existence, but things like Facebook algorithms deliberately confirms your biases by only showing you things you're interested in and avoiding things you don't agree with. It puts like-minded individuals into segregated boxes so you don't have to hear opinions from people you don't agree with, so your views are never challenged, at least in this passive way. It creates echo chambers that just entrench people into views they might have no other perspective on. You wouldn't know who you are if there weren't people who were so different as to be opposite to you, and you wouldn't know what you like if there wasn't also things out there you didn't like. You need those people to exist, or else you wouldn't.

For what it’s worth your analysis has helped understand storytelling, writing, character development in a way I didn’t think possible. I’ve written a book and am in the process of editing it and I’ve taken lots of cues from issues you have pointed out in other projects. Thanks for the help. There’s no one that touches you talent for this. Except drinker. But his is different. Cheers.

I don't honestly think we need a rage for the prequels. We have plenty of material for that. Either a devil's advocate praise or your usual excellent nuanced critiques would be appreciated for the prequels, talking about both the flaws and the good points. I'd also be interested in your views on Rebels and Clone Wars.

I found your channel after your Rage on TLJ and I absolutely loved it. I've never really followed thoroughly any youtube channel but I find myself just craving for your next videos. Listening to you dismantling arguments or certain pieces of writing in such a logical and objective way is amazing. I watched pretty much all your videos now and I can IMO say that your videos were always great but are also getting better and better. It's wonderful to see how much more recognition you're getting now, and I'd say you deserve so much more than this for the amount of work you're putting into your videos. Just like Obi-Wan said, 65K subscribers are ready with a million more on the way (hopefully). Thanks for your channel and your videos. I can't wait for your next videos and even though we have to wait for now, it will definitely be worth it.

It sounds cool when you say "Hello there Ladies and Gentlemen" - it sounds smart and entertaining at the same time. It sounds like some kind of opera pre-show announcement. It makes me imagine a Boxing announcer, dressed like a circus ringmaster, calling out two fighters each wearing top-hats, monacles, cummerbunds and cuffs. I know that's a crazy description, but it's the most accurate (subjective) mental picture I can paint. Anyway, you should start all your videos off like that.

Really enjoyed this video, it was nice to just get a sense of where you are right now. I honestly can't remember how I stumbled apong your channel it was right before your first Star Wars video and I watched the whole DS2 series and quite enjoyed it. You don't see a great deal of KZfaqrs who take the time to make well thoughtout content like you. It's greatly appreciated and as a fan I want you to take your time with whatever you're doing because I would rather it be good than rushed. The Praises and Rages feel like more a bite sized version of what you do (bite size being relative but still), even though they clearly still take time and scripting. I think you've got a great thing started here a dedicated community and videos like these are good because we got more of a response to what you've recently done plus general thoughts on what people are curious about. Your channel has balance this way which I think is important, I don't think any of us are expecting weekly videos that's not why we're here, we enjoy your content for what it is, and the time and passion you put into your work shows so just keep doing what you're doing. So all and all very good.

I found your channel through my rage against TLJ by literally just typing that in to the search bar, and you are the first youtuber i've ever pledged money to on patreon. I absolutely adore your content, and I love how I can disagree with some of your points (though i agree with the vast majority of them.) and have that be fine and wanted in your eyes. Everything you do is well thought out and well scripted and you're a genuinely charming and funny person. That seems to ooze into your writing, maybe sometimes more than it should, but it always entertains me. I find your voice incredibly soothing yet also academic. Fuck copyright strikes though you were begging for it with cam ripped footage sadly... even if that is a fault of an industry based around hype culture and arbitrary blockade times on the availability of movies. When i found you I had a hard time debating things with my friends, why this anime or movie is good or bad... but because i watched so much of your content and you are so in depth I now understand the complexities of arguing and the thought/intelligence needed to be put into it. So thank you for making content Mauler it has already brought me a lot of passion in my own projects even if they are far removed from internet critiques.

I’m surprised he doesn’t sound familiar with The Clone Wars star wars series. He even left the movie out, when rating the films in order. Interested in what he thinks about it, I think it made a lot of the characters better and helped to bridge the gap in Anakin’s evolution, far better than even the prequels did. Plus it has a lot of cool lore.

The main reason Roger Ebert is known by anyone today is because of his television show Siskel and Ebert. Because of it's popularity it caused him to become a household name despite his opinions generally speaking being very pedestrian and biased. (Like when he hated Blue Velvet because he saw it as trashy due to one of the main characters walking around completely naked in it. And decades later he revised his opinion). Even Siskel his co-host was a lot more objective about the technical merits of a film and focused more on things like cinematography.

Rogue One.. Oh man.. That movie was something, they gave us what I consider to be The Best Darth Vader pwnage scene, ever.. And yet somehow they also managed to make it the derpiest, when he stops at the door and just stands there, I can only imagine him silently cursing using all of his force points being awesome, so he couldn't just strangle the guy who runs away, and being so weak in the arm that he can't just slice the door open.. It's so weird, that they gave us such a good action scene, and then follow it with such a stupid ending.

A lot of the reasons why critics specifically like subversion is because critics watch an enormous amount of movies they don't want to see. So they focus in on something different. This was something I noticed with Roger Ebert's review of Repo Man where he talked about how he saw 7 films in the same week and Repo Man stood out the most. Which most likely contributed to him giving it a high score. You see this bias a lot in reviews, especially with things like oscar bait films. Where film critics will praise a movie just because it's different and hate a movie everyone likes because it's too conventional. My favorite example of this is looking at films that at the time were rated negatively like Spaceballs, Office Space, or The Thing. Where critics at the time misinterpreted the films and saw them generally as being really dumb and repetitive movies that we now see as classics because they were memorable and genuinely well made. Because critics have this bias toward unconventional for the time period they're in films you see them like movies just because they feel slightly different than the 100 other films they saw that month. Generally speaking, it's better to look on a film years after the fact than it is to look at it when it releases because of this bias critics have. It's why you'll notice a noticeable contradiction where critics will, when looking at films released years ago, talk in greater detail about the pros and cons of them compared to a newly released film that they have glowing praise for. You can see this with something like YMS where his reviews when a film immediately releases are generally overly biased and very weak compared to reviews where he talks about a film released 10-15 years ago. The euphoric theatrical feeling wears off and all you have is an mp4 file on your hard drive.

Good points. Those critics BTW were at least honest critics - high minded as they were. Today's critics are something far worse - mindless, easily swayed for of SJW & many times on a payroll.

I think something that would be really cool to see covered in a Star Wars movie (that I know they never will, and the closest you'll ever get is KOTOR 2) is kind of the idea of playing up a subversion of the idea of the traditional idea of Jedi vs. Sith. If you want to put it in D&D terms, the idea behind Jedi is that you're basically Lawful Good. You completely and outright ignore emotions and are basically a monk. This is in contrast to Sith, who are much more of a gradient from Lawful to Chaotic Evil, but the typical trend they follow is being big meanie-pants assholes to everyone who looks at them funny, it's just that some of them talk in deeper and more intimidating voices. My thought is that, for a new trilogy, you actually have a protagonist that appears to be a member of the Sith. By all standards we've set up, they are Sith: red lightsaber, passion instead of serenity, etc. But the thing is, they aren't actually evil: the power they use from passion isn't necessarily out of anger, sadness, or general trauma, but out of positive passions, like love, joy, righteous indignation. The work they do as a character is not inherently evil, and they do not work for the empire, or perhaps in this trilogy, they do, because the empire is the group getting hunted to the ends of the galaxy. Then, you set up a villain that represents the opposite: a Jedi character that represses all emotions, but this ends up making them bitter, cynical, and self-important, as you tend to see Jedi operating as. They prefer not to act when someone is in danger, and instead to sit and wait for the problem to simply solve itself while they argue and deliberate with the rest of the newly formed Jedi Council. Both your protagonist and your antagonist force each other into a character arc: the passionate Sith realizes that they are often being childish, and falling deeper into the dark side the more they rely on their passions. The dispassionate Jedi, on the other hand, realizes that by completely ignoring their emotions, they have lost an element of their humanity, and by extension, have become less of an icon of light and good and are now little more than pretending to be the Jedi they claim the title of. But of course, because Disney hates writing, that's never gonna happen.

Wow, that's... that's one of the best ideas for a Star Wars movie that I have heard in a long time. The only possible issue for it is just how the dark side works in Star Wars. You cover it briefly in your last paragraph, but I feel I should expand on it. In SW, even people who use it sparingly and for righteous goals can become corrupted by its influence, their views twisted until all the things they wanted to do with their power becomes a practically hollow lust for power- a power that controls them, not the other way around (not anymore). The only real way to counter this effect is to be skilled in the light side. Even then, they can only call upon the dark side limitedly, otherwise they risk destroying themselves. For your idea to work, your not-evil sith character would need to be a relatively new force user, so that it makes sense why he has not gone full Sidious. The other part of the idea for the jedi was spot on, though- 10/10. All we would need to do is establish when this is happening (old republic, post-rebellion, ect.), and then we the fans could start working on a script and show Lucusfilms what good writing is. Seriously, great idea sir/madam.

Thank you, my guy. I thought about some of the points you were talking about a little after I posted it, but my thought was exactly that: the sith being kind of a young, idealistic force user who just started out, and kind of dips into both, but likely uses the dark side more because they feel they need the extra power to fulfill their goals, and by say, the second movie, they end up doing something horrible as a result of the dark side, which forces them to reconsider their position.
