So I guess it did turn into a series, this will be my outlet for bad movies as time goes on, covering ones that I have previously hated as well as ones that essentially waste my time in the cinema. By doing it like this, with the videos, I am not killing those that I hate, merely saving those I love from seeing these movies, hopefully.
#roseismyhero
If you guys want to see another video that will dare to explore Black Panther in a different light than the typical one these days, then check out The Dishonoured Wolf's video and think about giving his channel a subscrooble -
• Video
Hopefully one day, I too can generate a weak, pointless shield from my underwear or something, depends on how generous the Wakandan's are feeling about sharing the technology, il need it for my days of toiling on the editing software, IT MAKES AS MUCH SENSE.

Considering how much the modern MCU loathes anything originating from Europe, I wonder how the Transatlantic slave trade ended in it. Did the underequipped, undermanned, untrained slave population manage to simultaneously rise up and overthrow the EEEEEEEVIL Europeans instead of Europe as a whole deciding 'no, this is absolutely abominable, we're all voting to end this institution and bloody well going to war with an African kingdom that refuses to stop raiding their neighbours? In the MCU's timeline, did the slaves overtake North America and singlehandedly wage war against the white Americans, demanding freedom after they proved their superiority by crushing the Caucasians? I wouldn't put it past them.

The comics give a better explanation of the process of becoming black panther: first you must defeat the previous black panther or his chosen champion, you can eat the herb/drink the juices made from the herb then you must be chosen by the panther God as worthy. And even if you get to the last step, unless your body /physiology is correct (only T'challa's family has been so far in the comic), the Herb WILL KILL YOU if your system isn't purged of it. @MonteCreations
@MonteCreations 4 жыл бұрын
Actually one thing MauLer completely missed was that part of the way Wakanda keeps itself hidden from the world is by creating the facade that they are poor african nation. The reason they still use spears is because they want the rest of the world to think they don't have advanced weapons, when in truth the spears are actually more advanced than outsiders would realize. This is also seen with the border guards who have seemingly ordinary African cloaks that are actually highly advanced shields. The people the rest of the world see are the border tribe who only make themselves appear to be poor in order to keep the real wakanda hidden... And the reason why the advanced buildings look the way they do is because a country's architecture is often influenced by its culture; just because they are advanced doesn't mean they are gonna copy western style buildings especially if they were building them before the west was.

@@MonteCreations This makes no sense. If you want to display your nation as a poor one then have spears when you're out of Wakanda and actual real weapons when you're inside of it, but being honest even the poorest nations in Africa still have guns so they don't even need to cover it using spears. Btw the spears made of a material strong enough to stop a car going at a really fast speed are enough to draw attention to Wakanda's weaponry and boil this whole mess. @StarWarsomania Жыл бұрын
@@bbjygm Because Ultron’s statement doesn’t make sense if he’s referring to vibranium. Vibramium *isn’t* “the most versatile substance”, it’s a metal that absorbs vibrations. Making a shield out of it is the best use possible. And Cap’s shield isn’t “a frisbee,” it’s one of the most versatile (heh) weapons in the world, with both defensive and offensive capabilities that can be use as both a melee weapon and a long-distance weapon. I know, *I know,* later they decided vibranium is now liquid magic, and just adding vibranium to something makes *_poof_* technology or something now, but that is quite possibly one of the silliest things they did in the MCU. Funny thing is that when I thought about it later, it stoped looking so silly. If Vibranium in its basic state could be as pliable as copper (so that even stone-age/bronze-age humies could work with it) but at the same time with developing new ways to process it (through some alloys or refining etc) to make it harder and purer centuries later , it really could kickstart your society in technology way above rest of the world. This premise is not as crazy as it sounds. Even today we have many inventions that could work miracles if only we had the right superconductor and so on. Of course fact that they did not conquer rest of the world and that they stayed hidden all the time is silly. But if Vibranium existed it could make Wakanda as strong as it did. Only thing I would love to see more is if they would put higher emphasis on them almost worshiping that metal.

@@metalliclark86 lol perfect response So if Wakanda would have been just as technological as Europe became, but Wakanda hid that from the other areas, it is their fault for what happen;not for slavery of course cuz the African warlords already enslaved the tribes they conquered, but for the way Europe traded, colonized, etc to control most of Africa, and abuse that power. Wakanda could've done something but NOOOOOOO gotta hide from clearly inferior specimens. My question is, how does having a *really hard metal* just make you technologically advanced? The only reasons Europeans advanced so much more than Africa and America is because of the trade of ideas. Asia was wayyyyy better than Europe for most of the beginning, when the Celtics got annihilated by the Mongolians and such, but somewhere I feel like Europeans kind of pulled ahead in the later years, and again I'd say because of the location, in the middle of the world really, that drove that trade and idea exchange. Also Europeans, just like Africans, are a diverse group of people with many ethnicities, so really you are probaby the racist, being so focused on skin-color. Projecting your own faults on others is quite common, and especially in this culture today (at least in the US, but the world is feeling it too) people judge quickly without thinking. You call someone a racist because they said that Wakanda would've been colonized if other countries knew of their resources (tho, really, why didn't they? I thought most of Africa was in European control, did they just decide that this one country was a bit too much to control?). It's sad to see such hate, especially so quickly, from someone who originally made a funny comment and was having a good time. www.cbsnews.com/news/mlks-content-of-character-quote-inspires-debate/ "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." - Martin Luther King Jr.

Why did you use the term sub-Saharan African? Like you correctly said mos Africans north of the Sahara where white, wether they were Egyptians, Phoencians, Carthagenians, Romans, for tens of thousands North Africa was pretty much white. (There still are white berber tribes in the mountains in morroco). With this in mind why would anybody have made a comment about the Continent being for one race? Or "dominating the Continent" it just goes to show how skewed people thinking is today.

The most annoying part is that T’Challa is supposed to be an expert in most hand to hand combat. Meaning he can kick anyone’s ass WITHOUT the suit, but the suit of course gives him an edge, helps him fight against powerful villains. In Civil War, he’s actually like a competent fighter; specially that one scene against Bucky. But in this movie... He just feels like Captain America and Iron Man had a baby lmao. I think that’s my personal biggest issue. He doesn’t feel like Black Panther, definitely not the one in Civil War. Which is not absolutely nailed, but better than this version.

T'Challa is the creator of the suit in the comics as well as being an engineering and programming genius on the level of Tony Stark and Reed Richards(See Illuminati in Marvel comics), and is considered to be one of the top three martial artists in the world. That is why he is uniquely the Panther. The Panther did not wear the suit before T'Challa. It's his invention. I don't know why they divested him of this save they found it too parallel with Iron Man(Frankly it is why the two constantly butt heads in the comics. They are mirror images of each other: heirs to their respective kingdoms who rebelled to become superheroes). Also, Wakanda is a monarchy. You cannot challenge for kingship. (Killmonger, via comics, assumed the throne through being a rightful heir when T'Challa was presumed dead, not by punching people. He did punch some people, though.) You CAN challenge to become the Black Panther in a yearly tournament, which is a domestic military position seperate from the Ruler. It makes more sense, as you would want a strong warrior to protect the kingdom. The Panther is NOT however in charge of the military. Many of T'Challa's problems in the comics come from him trying to be in both roles, which was mostly unprecedented; that and he's a interdimensional f-boy(see T'Challa and Susan Richards, and Storm, and...you get it.). In the comics, Wakanda is not some stylized central-African village with laser lighting. It is futuristic, although their clothing remains some weird mix of a dozen different countries. And they have guns. Lots of guns. Okay AND spears, but they are energy projectile weapons. They do not share the Herb with the general Wakandan public because it was the center of a huge conflict in the past. So it was ruled that only the Panther will take it, and anyone is welcome to tryout. Good luck beating the best fighter in the hemisphere, though. I find the movie pandering. Rhino's? Really? -black Marvel fan

Something about all the hype around it bothered me though and I hoped it wasn't something as blatant as race. But it was. Sometimes I feel I didn't hate or dislike a movie since after a year or so if I'm no longer thinking about it I feel it was maybe ok but watching this made me realize the reason I didn't think about Black Panther was I forgot a lot of the movie as it was boring or too predictable. Personally as a black guy (and I'm sure others can relate?) I'm sick and tired of slavery movies so I thought a movie like this would be great but...it was so so heavy handed with all the virtue signalling and "wow white guys are evil because of shit their ancestors did and blacks are awesome" that I cringed at a lot of it. Watching this video made me come to terms with all the things that made me not really care to remember it. I don't feel like I'm empowered as a black guy cause of this movie and I don't see how it's a cultural milestone honestly. Just make a good damn movie and stop telling us it's good cause it has black people, that's actually insulting. P.S. Using that Breaking Bad scene every time you're referring to forced racial commentary is one of the few things that honestly almost killed me lmao, it just got better and better!

Add to that, they are trying to portray the most advanced civilization as tribal spearchuckers with prehistoric architecture. I wholeheartedly reject the idea that "if the white man had not enslaved the African nations through colonialism than Africa would be a paradise". The African nations with the lowest GDP are the ones that were never colonies. I will not say that this is due to any inherent inferiority but is due to tribalism and adherence to traditional practices; I.E a lack of ability to adapt to different situations.

I can remember when Blade came it, it was a hit, it had two black leads, and ended up getting 2 sequals. No one went on about what a milestone it was to have a black lead (nor did they do it with Eddy Murphy, Denzil Washington, Richard Pryer or any other black stars years before), and just about everyone no matter what their race or sex was thought it was a great movie (seen it as a teen and loved it). And nor did i once hear anyone talk about race. It was just great actors and a great movie. Apparently not giving a shit about race years ago isnt as enlightened as pretending black stars nowadays is completely unique, never seen, amazing and enlightened. Like we were all racist years ago when we packed out cinemas. Its Hollywood pushing a corporate product like its social justice to sell tickets.

It’s crazy that other cities in Africa look more futuristic than Wakanda does. I never understood why they did that with this film. It seems disrespectful even a futuristic advanced civilization in Africa still has huts and uses shields and spears.

12:38 Fun fact; Rhinos are, in comparison to most other mammals, not incredibly intelligent, don't have very good vision, and are incredibly territorial and aggressive. You can find vids online of them knocking over trees and shit because their defense instinct got triggered by it, let alone any one animal that finds itself unfortunate enough to be within 20 feet of it. The very concept of "farming Rhinos" is quite dubious at best, and you certainly wouldn't be able to treat it like it's at a petting zoo like pictured here.

What’s really regrettable is that we’ll never get to see Chadwick Boseman in a truly great Black Panther film. The best Black Panther movie so far was Civil War, where the actor and his character made such a huge positive impression. (Nevertheless, this movie, your comments not withstanding, was highly entertaining and imaginative, flaws and all.)

So, the artifacts would likely still be buried below the ground if white people had never initiated efforts to recover them.

@@sikkableeat5614 technically, the natives were employed by the whites or forced to. Many of the important artifacts we had today were from the colonial era. Like there's more artifacts from Asia, Africa in Europe or US than in their respective home country is proof of that.

+Alexander Christopher Yes that's what I'm saying. White explorers/archaeologists/researchers from western countries pretty much invented the entire idea of digging up ancient artifacts for study. And they employed diggers to work with them to unearth these artifacts and put them in museums. So without their initiative, these artifacts would still be buried.
