As far as "Laziness" goes I'd like to point out that often when someone is retiring in the Philippines, they likely have already accomplished many of their goals at least financially. Their dream now might just be to settle into a more slow-paced lifestyle and to enjoy what the Philippines has to offer. We aren't looking to better our financial situation at least not in the sense of employment. Personally, it's more important for me to just maintain what I've already built and to spend my leisure time exploring, travelling and immersing myself in the local culture.

4:27 Bingo. You'll hear Filipinas often state ASAP they like a "humble guy", not arrogant. It took me a while to figure out what they mean. It's very common for English words to have very different meanings for Filipinos and Westerners. The only example that popped into Leah's head was "bank account". A foreign can be "arrogant" about his job, how smart he is, education and a hundred other things...but talking about money is the crossing boundary. The reason for this is almost all Filipinas, like women everywhere but more so for Filipinas, will be very insecure meeting a foreigner. Just by being a foreigner you've checked almost all her boxes. She feels it's her job to win you. When you say you have a lot of money she feels even more insecure. Selling herself to a foreigner with less wealth, even poor, is a much easier hill for her to climb. So absolutely she doesn't want to hear about your wealth. She assumes already you're wealthy at least by her standards. This is also the reason why age isn't an issue, fat belly, ugly, etc...All those things men think of as negatives she's seeing as positives because she has a better shot at less desirable men. She needs 2 things. A good provider is #1. Treat her decent is #2. Both are requirements but both are flexible in definition. Men also need 2 things. Sex is #1. Treat him decent #2. Both flexible. #4 is the same deal. If you're following other women on social media that's competition for her. Makes her job harder. Learn from Filipinas how to hide that stuff.

Being rude is a turn off to me as well, life is too short to be angry all the time. I think the biggest problem that will arise from having a big heart is, can she manage her jealousy. Is him being friendly to another woman going to make her jealousy go crazy and cause problems/fights where they don't need to be. Her excessive jealousy will be a huge turn off for a foreigner as well. If he can't walk out the door without being interrogated because of her jealousy, she has crossed boundaries and will end up pushing him into the arms of another woman. There's a difference in being arrogant and being confident, she's going to have to find that fine line between the 2, and not mistake 1 for the other. Just because he says or does something against your cultural norms doesn't mean he's being arrogant. She will have to accept and adapt to HIS cultural norms too, NOT just him adapting to hers. I wouldn't have a problem with following too many girls on social media, since I don't have any social media. It's nothing but western women whining, complaining, and bashing anyone and everyone who doesn't see the world through their delusional eyes. But that door swings both ways, if she has social media her trust and loyalty would be in question too. Deodorant only goes so far when you're sweating your butt off. Lying is the biggest turn off for me, it destroys trust, and without trust you have nothing. I would argue "saving face" could bring about lying to do so. Negative people NEED drama in their lives, so they can feel better about their own miserable life. I don't see a glass as half full (optimistic) or half empty (pessimistic), I see it as just being the wrong size glass for it's contents which can be easily fixed (realistic). The problem with laziness is most foreigners going there are retired, they've already achieved most of their goals in life, it doesn't mean they're lazy. They've already worked their butts off most of their lives to be able to retire there, it's time they get to just enjoy life without all the stress and pressures of constantly being on the go and doing things, and trying to meet someone else's expectations of them. The one last goal is to find a loving and caring woman to settle down with and just relax and enjoy peace and harmony. I don't see a problem with watching a movie or playing games if you're doing it with her, I'm sure Filipina's would like to curl up on the couch and cuddle and watch a movie too.

I totally agree with the first seven points (although I must admit I have a lockdown haircut, but that's going to change soon!) but have some issue with reference to the last one, 'laziness'. How do you define lazy? I worked my butt off running my own business for 20+ years and that allowed me to retire early to the Philippines with my wife. My previous endeavours allowed me to buy her 3 commercial properties and 3 residential properties outright. Her/our income from this is substantial. I paid for her daughter's schooling and support her while she is at university. I do the same for her niece. I employ two of her sisters and her brother-in-law, giving them a better standard of living than they could ever have hoped for. What is wrong with taking it easy and watching movies, etc. online? I've already put the hours in. That is not indicative of an inherently lazy person. Although we have transport I walk into town, and to the shops, I prepare my own meals when they don't suit her particular tastes and clean up after myself. I simply don't work because I don't need to. Does that make me lazy? I'd be interested in seeing a post on the biggest turn offs for foreigners about the Philippines/Filipinos.

To date a Filipina learn about the Philippines some of her language, remember to respect her and her culture thing are slower in the Philippines. Ask her questions one at a time you could cause nose bleed ( Filipino understand English but do not bombard her) slow down. Don't make promises you won't keep. She comes with a family when you visit bring gifts even small ones. Learn to try new foods. Even a little bit if you are invited into her home. Do not show wealth ( do not brag). Simple things like take off shoes when entering her house. Ask her about blessings who you give blessings too. Go to her church even if not Catholic. Do not lie or cheat. Its simple be a gentleman. Last two things be clean and brush your teeth.

Hi Leah good video and good points. Some of these points work both ways. Should not be asking for nude photos at all. It is ok if she wants to send them. Being rude is a turn off for me too. I do chat to a few ladies online but I am open and honest up front and when I find the right one I will be deleting my profile from any dating sites. Hygiene is very important for all people. Lies are not good for anyone. I have had some ladies lie to me and got themselves caught. I am retired and my only goal now is to enjoy retirment. I set my goals while working and have achieved them. There is also lazy Filipina's like the ones that are only looking for someone to support them financially. I have a very positive attitude about the Philippines or I would not be here. Of course there are things that annoy me but that happens everywhere. At least here the ladies don't say all men are alike as they do in the west.

Nice discussion and agree those are important points for Filipinas. In regards to no. 1. my recommendation is a big fat no. Never record in digital data anything you would mind being made public. Once a photo is taken or you film something it’s available to be hacked. Also, if any lady shares your views on laziness, it’s probably better for her to find a younger not retired man. We might still be active and enjoy life, but we probably will be chill and take life at a slower pace.

If at any stage of our correspondence I asked for risky revealing photographs she would have ended our correspondence and I would never have been given the privilege of marrying her. I am so very glad that she married me. If a man who is corresponding online with a woman he may end up marrying asks her to provide him with revealing pictures then to what extent does he really care about her well being in life?

I agree with all but one of the suggestions, the one I don't agree with, is the one where you must stop writing to a female who is beautiful after you are in a relationship. There are women that are my friends and I've known for twenty years, before meeting my wife. That is indeed good advice, Leah, but I would even be stricter on point 1. Nude pictures are not done! NEVER! What if the relationship goes wrong and he wants to get even by putting your nudes on the internet? I would never ask a girl to send me nude pictures. I was in an LDR before and I waited to see her naked until we were together in person. I once blocked a girl I was chatting with because she asked me to show my dick on cam. Nudity is for the bedroom, not the chatroom.

I would suggest that it's never ok to share nude pictures with your partner unless you're happy for them to become available to anyone online. You may totally trust your partner but breakups happen and also phones can get lost.

The Philippines has always been a reliable and resourceful ally to the United States during every conflict in Southeast Asia; I.e. Korean War, Vietnam War, etc. and now, the United States is establishing another United States military base in the Philippines. There are over 20 countries throughout the world such as Latvia, Slovakia, Monaco that can visit the United States without a visa. The majority of these countries have never played an important and supporting role in protecting the United States interest in southeast Asia. But yet, the Philippines, a very important and strategic ally for the United States, is not listed in the visa waiver program. It makes absolutely no sense and is completely unacceptable. What are your thoughts?

You are definitely correct about number 4 but if it's an American, pay special attention. Bragging is acceptable among some cultures but for Americans, it's seen as weakness. We even have an old saying about it; The weakest man in the room is always the one talking about himself. If you are a Filipina on a date with an American and he is trying to impress you by bragging about himself or his accomplishments, understand that he is most likely lying and shouldn't be trusted, but also that he is probably in the Philippines because he is a failure in his own country and isn't even respected by his own people.

I am the one always talking with my Filipina, sometimes as a joke to tease, I tell her to shut up or say now it is me who will listen because she doesn't talk much and she never complains. I think we are doing fine, we plan to marry next year. Every couple is unique, and for us, we agree on most things pero, not all. The most important is to be both honest and respectful.

The only trouble I see for myself is the goals. My goal right now is to find someone to run the day-to-day of my business and get out of the insane West. Not anything about me as a person. The very first question she asked is what university did I graduate from. I assumed she meant what university in the Philippines. I replied to her I graduated from a university here in the US. She said, "Oh" and then walked away. She didn't even ask for my name.

I agree with most of what you said with some small differences. The one that definitely is imperative is white or small lies. Women are highly and inherently insecure about their physique and the man's past relationships. If you tell a man he is overweight, he will admit it with a smile as long as you said it with respect and not in a demeaning way. If you tell a woman she is a little bit fat, , have a flat chest or flat azz, she will hate or resent the man forever. She will developed insecurities and self- awareness. of her body. If a woman ask a man about past relationships and he admits how great his ex was, even admiring he messed up the relationship, his current woman will again try to compete with a phantom of the past or hate the man because she feels she can't measure up to the woman of the past. I remember a gal I know from 1st grade. Already in our early 30s I confessed that all the males when we were in high school find her attractive. She surprisingly conbfessed in HS she felt ugly because nobody approached her sexually or seeking a relationship.
