I lost my mind when I realized I can scroll around the video on youtube. The future is kind of amazing. Edit: I am kind of bummed that the fidelity of the images aren't that good, but this was a super fun experience.

You know what, whilst the quality might not be there just yet with 360 cameras (a bit grainy, monitors blown out but that could just be the fact it's CRT's, etc), I watched the full thing and that was one of the coolest video experiences. Actually felt like I was there walking through exhibits with the both of you. Great work Drew and a big thanks to Steve for the great insight!

Even if the quality isn't the best this is a really fun way to see and experience things, gives the viewer a more interactive experience.

This was an interesting walk through the exhibition. For me, the 360 video was a really useful way of viewing it as there is so much to see and as I didn't always want to see the thing they were focusing on, I could focus on the nearby cabinet that I was interested in. 360 is not a format that I'd want for much else except places where there is too much to see with a normal camera. One thing that I stumbled on by accident, you can still move the view when the video is paused so to see items like the leaf blower at the back of the machine, it was cool for that. Thanks Drew and Steve Lin for the experience.

Excellent use of a 360 Camera. It felt as if I was actually exploring the show floor focusing on what interested me. Keep it up dude!

I'm surprised how much I enjoyed scrolling around. Really got a sense of the show floor and was engaged more than I think I would have been with a normal video. Great job Drew.

This is such a sick video. The tour guide is so clearly knowledgeable and passionate about arcade cabinets, and 360 video gives you the feeling of being surrounded by games. I don't think this format would work that well with most gaming or subculture conventions, though. There's way too many people at bigger cons. Wander around convention halls before they let the public in is really awesome, but you might not be allowed to film it.

I loved this! The fades worked really well with the change of lighting. This is an awesome way to record a waking tour. I'm definitely into more of this! And yeah, there's limits to this technology but this video shows the potential and the opportunities for improvement. Maybe HUD elements to highlight points of interest, or picture in picture stuff for essential info.

How do you edit 360° video? Like, how did you do those inserts of the cabinets being played later, like 4:04 to 4:12 and get the two clips so the position is roughly the same?

I went several minutes wondering why Drew was doing such a terrible job of filming before I realized you're supposed to pan the camera yourself. lol Edit: So this is a neat idea, but I don't want to scroll the camera around for 46 minutes. I think this works better for shorter videos.

At first I thought the 360 was annoying, then I realized WASD can control it which makes it decent. Quality is horrible though which sort of ruins the video. There is probably so much color and detail to see in this environment.

Liked this a lot! My one criticism is that the 'seam' of the video is frequently over Drew's face, distorting it. Maybe that's intentional so no details elsewhere is lost, though?

It's kind of interesting. I found myself acting like I would, if I had been walking with you guys: looking around while listening to the conversation, occasionally turning around to look at whoever was speaking. But I do feel like having to constantly pan around with the mouse is too much work. This would work better if it could be watched in a VR headset, but I'm not sure what that experience would be like since you're not stationary - would it induce nausea? I can only come up with one good use for this, which would be a long stationary shot in a location that is visually interesting 360°. Like at a mountain top, or inside some impressive building/structure etc. But for those cases, the image quality would have to be top notch and this cheapo camera wouldn't work. But again, then it is the viewers PC that hinders the experience: I seem to recall a 360° video from like Sistine Chapel or somewhere similar, which was good quality, but it was absolutely unwatchable as it chugged on my computer. Maybe our tech just isn't quite there yet.

360 video does not work for long form videos. I don't want to be the camera person for forty minutes of low quality video. The walkthrough is interesting but I don't need to see what is going on at a pinball machine across the room when the subject being discussed in right there.

I love what you're doing, keep it up, but I wish you would have tested this on a less interesting video. I feel like this is amazing content that I find super compelling, but it's ruined by the 360 Camera. Others have mentioned that it might be ok if you could just choose to look in one direction and all the interesting stuff would be in frame but the constant need to keep interacting with the screen to see what Steve is talking about is tedious.
