Glad you were able to go back to the States for some fun. I'm afraid hogs are a big problem in France. One Chateau I watch invited the men from the village to hunt them. Two cars full of men showed up for the hunt. The hardwood floors in the Chateau are very nice. Good for you getting the painting done in that room. Great to see your video take care.

Good idea to do the painting yourself. Try painting with a roller and brush.🤗🇨🇦

@@countrylivinginfrenchchate2676 also the William Cecil who was the most trusted of Queen Elizabeth 1 is a relative. Charlemagne is my great…. Grandfather also William the conqueror. I have royal blood but most definitely not raised in it. Just farmers. Lol. But it is to know. I have a brother named John Alden after our 8th great grandfather. I am so proud of my ancestors on my dads side. Now doing my mother’s side. She is also related to the king and queen of Norway!! I have a nephew who looks just like the prince. It gave me goose bumps. Lol. Also my broths son looks exactly like king Henry the 8th. Lol!! Scary! Again thank you for the kind words lots of love Tennessee!!

I am a New Yorker, but Boston is my 2nd favorite city. I visit as often as possible. Instead of two men one month and ten thousand euros, it was a lady, one day, and a hundred euros. Don't worry about the audio you will get used to it; all will fall into place the videos you make. Welcome back, Love from N.Y.

Hi, I visited NY few times but never dared to drive a car there 😂 We are still obsessed with Boston, maybe even more now that we have been away for a while. Thanks for your encouragement!

Rollers are fine, whatever works best for you is good. Frustration over tools is not worth it. I hope you have a pole extension for the handle so you don't have to keep moving the ladder?

Yes! Got one and it’s much easier

They were really taking the P.. ie 10, 000 Euros!! You may have wasted money on a paint gun, but you saved thousands by doing it yourself. Well done for not giving in to them. Floors and walls look much better. I'd be tempted to turn the turned up ground into a rosebed, underplanted with lavender. ..You need to electric fence your perimeter.
@countrylivinginfrenchchate26768 ай бұрын
I am afraid the electric fence is in the future. They dug up on the other side of the lawn again!
@ji80448 ай бұрын
Are you allowed to have someone come and shoot the boars? That would be a lot better than a fence. You can plan on having your place look a little more like New England by next fall, maybe with planting some almost mature apple trees from a local nursery?
@countrylivinginfrenchchate26768 ай бұрын
Did that already. Planted about 10 trees, should start getting fruits next year. A local huntsman is also after the wild boars. But I guess there are too many. Doesn’t bother me as long as I don’t cross my path with them 😀
@tide14fan8 ай бұрын
I strongly suggest that you ditch the paint gun -- and use a roller brush to paint the walls. This is shat most people do!!
@countrylivinginfrenchchate26768 ай бұрын
Did just that after 1 day! Even the smallest type of roller was better than the paint gun.

If I may, you really need to work with a professional who knows how to restore old mansions before going farther. The new wooden floor you are placing a bit everywhere is quite a bad choice, that doesn't fit the style of the house. Was it for financial reasons ? I don't know, but restoring a château costs money, requires craftsmen and professionals. Any real expert in châteaux would have told you your floor was inaccurate. Anyway, good luck with your work.
@countrylivinginfrenchchate26768 ай бұрын
The floor is in the apartment (different building) so no worries 😉. Wouldn’t do such thing in the Chateau.
