Jenn Neil's recipe that I use to create blooms:
--Pouring Medium for Colors--
1/4 tsp Primary Elements Color powder
1/4 tsp Craftnique Gel Stain
1 tsp Glidden Semi-Gloss untinted paint (Base 3, Ultradeep base)
1 drop Minwax Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner (oil based)
--Cell Activator--
1/2 tsp Amsterdam Titanium White
2 tsp floetrol
6 drops Minwax Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner (oil based)
--Pillow Paint--
Mix Glidden Semi-Gloss untinted paint (Base 3, Ultradeep base) with Amsterdam Titanium White to get a thick paint that holds it shape when poured in a puddle

I agree 100 % with all you have said. Jenn Neil had this bloom technique figured out long before shelee. It is so annoying when I see the number of youtubers that say they have her permission to share what they have learned from her. No one needs her permission and calling her the queen of this technique is so sickening to me. She never gives any other artist credit for anything. Why people have paid for her course is just amazing to me how many fell for that. Jenn, yourself and many others share what they have learned without charging a dime. Keep up the good work! I am going to give this try. You girls rock!!!

Omgsh! Jenny! I got so excited for/with you when you saw how well the black cell activator did! Lol. It was gorgeous! Still watching your video so I'll come back and edit when done! 😉 It is SO unfortunate that Jenn was blasted with hate like she was. I stood up with her and said "NO WAY!" AMAZING results! WOW! Congrats to you and my mad scientist friend Jenn! Can’t wait for the cooking video! Maybe once try a puddle on a big spatula or dustpan and pour it on the ornaments? You won’t have to race the paint!!! 😘

Hey dear Karen! ... Oh, I have tried that spatula thing and I was way too spastic to make it work. It ended up looking like stringy mud. Maybe I will try it again, or maybe a flip cup like you have done with such success. The racing the paint is a bit nerve racking, lol. But I am kinda addicted to seeing these explosions of cells!! I know I am doing the same thing over and over, but... MAN! It is so cool to see! LOL. Thanks for the kind words

Thank you Saskia! Yes! The recipe gave a totally different look.... I got some feathery looking things that were gorgeous! I wonder if I can ship you some of this craftnique gel stain and the glidden paint base with the other package I am gonna mail you?! I know there are some restrictions on mailing paint, but I am not positive if that is true for these products.

Thank you so much Carrie! You can totally master the technique!! This recipe is ultimately very simple and it works like a charm. I think that using the exact brands Jenn uses is important though, especially that Glidden untinted base in the colors and in the pillow.

Thank you so much! I hope so! I figure colourarte ships international (not positive) and I am not sure on Craftnique. The glidden paint base was really key in my success, so hopefully you can find something similar. Might have to experiment to find the right one. Hopefully they sell paint samples in the small size there so you can do some tests.

Jenny Post Sample pots would be perfect. Colourarte do ship internationally but right now it’s a bit rich for me. I’m looking to see if there are similar pigments here. I do have pigments but they aren’t even close to colourartes quality. I may bite the bullet though after Christmas and get some. I know I can get the paint base, the lovely Erica Hughes helped me out with that one. Now Craftnique is on my list lol. Thanks again Jenny 😃

Omg! Cooking with stupid is an awesome name for a cooking channel! I love it! So Jenny, I’m wondering why you are mixing the Amsterdam titanium white into the Glidden paint base for your pillow. Is this a requirement for painting ornaments? Do you use this pillow on flat surfaces too?

Thanks Carol. and Amen!! Well, the bullies are being kicked out of pouring groups left and right... most of them have gotten the message, but there are a few danglers who just keep at it. Just have to keep on keeping on and ignore the mean people as best you can. It is easier when it is directed at me... but when they are after a friend, it REALLY gets to me.

You all need to check out getting a booth at Wheatland Music Festival in Remus, Michigan. Juried arts and crafts show and sales booths. You have a great variety of affordable items it seems for all budgets with your jewelry and ornaments. They have a website under the same name!

You can make the colors a few days ahead, but I would not make the cell activator until you are ready to pour. Thank you!

Thank you for all the work and experimenting that you are doing. I know that you said that all your colours from Primary Elements are in the Winter package except the purple, and they all.look beautiful. As I already have many colours from Primary Elements, I would like to know the names of the other 5 colours that you used, in order to buy them, as I may not be ordering the Winter special.

Alright... when I am mixign the paint, they are in a line. In order, they are: Mystique, Sunset Glow, Tanzanite, Snap Dragon, Vintage Mint, and Rapsberry Wine. I also list the colors I use on each pour at the beginning of the pour in text boxes. Thank you for the kind words. These are winter lights colors, and I think you can buy them separate from the kit in the larger size, but they are only available through December.

Have you tried Vivid Enamel instead of Glidden base 3?

Not sure what it does... it adds a chemical compound that helps the cells form. You have to add this only if you are not using australian floetrol. Australian floetrol has that chemical compound in it already.

I think that the Amsterdam is an important factor. However, I suggest that you just give it a try and experiment!

Could you do this on ceramic tiles and then seal them for use as coasters?

You could definitely do this on ceramic tiles for coasters. Tiles are a great way to practice as you learn too. I have been able to find them cheap at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore shop in our area, but they are pretty cheap new as well.

I have tried lots of different pouring mediums, and they all get different effects. This particular recipe gets this effect. My last video showed a different pouring medium recipe that got a similar but slightly different effect. And then I have videos showing the normal pouring medium I have used for a couple of years and it gets entirely different effects. My point is, if you want THESE effects, it is best to get the ingredients and brands used in the recipe. BUT, there are MANY recipes that get stunning results using liquitex and other pouring mediums!! Good luck and have fun!!! 😘

I dip the back in white paint. Then, the colors just fall around it. I show the back of one of my previous ornaments in the video.

Jenny Hi Girly. I was just watching this video when it dawned on me that you have a southern draw. Where are you from,if I may ask? I have a feeling you and I may be from the same neck of the woods. I haven't found anyone from Down south on the paint pour video's. I'm in Texas. I'm just guessing your from south of the red river? Let me know. Would be nice to find out your from around here. I don't know anyone pour painting, accept the people I have been meeting through video comments on their channels. I sure wish YT would add a messenger option like FB. I don't go on FB much these days. I like You Tube's videos more. What ever I want right in the search, and at my click of the mouse.
