Even if a mechanic is doing a service or maintenance the accessories in general are ignored so as the rider we need to check them.

After you install and before or after the “keep your knees in the breeze” sign off, how about a slow, up close shot of the product installed and a pan out to see the whole bike and how it looks with the new product. Was kinda hard to get a good view with the bike behind you. Just a suggestion. Love your channels! Keep ‘em comin!

Great detail instructions

I’m the worlds worst mechanic but I bought the lowers with speaker pods for my ‘21 Road Glide standard. My lowers came with the sliding lever to open/close the vent, but I had to remove it from the glove box to put it on my speaker pods. That screw deep inside the lever’s mounting spot was extremely difficult to put on the pods as there’s only about an inch clearance and no room for even a short socket to fit, and at an impossible angle to use a screwdriver. I tried several things but finally tried a 7 mm bit meant for a drill, with the screw in its place, then was barely able to hand tighten the screw with two fingers. I’ll probably have to remove them and add some blue locktite since I can’t tighten them with a tool. The other issue I’ve spent a lot of time on is the spacer. I made several trips to the hardware store and I hope I’ve done things correctly. The spacer had 4 countersunk screw holes and I used 1” screws with the same thread type as those used by Harley for attaching speakers to the upper fairing. No hardware came with the pods or the lowers to attach the spacers. I added locktite then screwed them into the 4 existing holes in the speaker pod, then drilled 4 pilot holes (5/32 bit, IIRC) in the speaker pod for the speakers using the 4 other holes in the spacer as a guide. Due to your recommendation, I haven’t yet attached the speaker because I haven’t yet mounted the lowers on my bike. I’m thankful you mentioned that or I probably wouldn’t have done that correctly. I also had to enlarge the 2 preexisting speaker wire holes at the bottom of the speaker pod to provide more room for my speaker wire leads to make it through. My wires have some adapter thing on the end and they were just a bit too large to fit through the 2 pre-existing holes. I got my Switchback LED lights installed on the lower fairing, so tomorrow I’m hoping to actually install the whole thing on my bike. I’m really, really hoping that part is as easy as you made it look in your videos because I’ve spent several hours so far just getting to this point. I’d like to thank you for your videos though, because without them I wouldn’t even dare to try these installs myself. Due to your videos I’ve removed my fender and replaced it with a Dominator fender, swapped stock bags for extended and used my own lids with speakers and my lids mounting hardware, the extended side covers, and now these lowers. Just a year ago I didn’t even know how to take off the bags, seat, or anything else and now I’m learning so much about my bike that I never thought I would. Hi Steve . Great video. So clear and concise . I have a 2018 RKS with the stock engine guards and HD highway pegs and mounts. Question: Do I have to remove HD pegs and mounts to install lowers or can the lowers be mounted without removal of HD pegs and mounts? I got them in so nice and tight with lock tight I would hate to have to remove them . Please let me know . Thanks in advance .

I have a '13 RG. But I like the Rushmore lowers. I know you say the '14 up will not fit the '13, even though the engine guards are the same. Is it because it hits the fairing bracket? If so, can it be trimmed back to fit?

Can you install foot pegs after installing the lower fairings?

Can I get the color matched lowers without the glovebox and then order the speaker pod?

Can you buy lowers that come with the speaker pods instead of the glove box? If not it seems kind of a waste of material and money for those who know they're going to be putting in speakers immediately. It is nice though to have the option to add it later without replacing the whole lower.

I'm assuming no problem getting to the oil filter? Also, just some feedback for you, it would have been nice to view the install from multiple angles instead of a fixed angle.

Thanks Steve another great video, 1 question for you. I have extended brake and shifter. When I bought them it was stated very clearly that the extended items will NOT work with bikes with lower fairings. Is this still the case with your lowers?

I know this came out months ago but looking at these lowers. I know you guys show a lot of Ciro3d products. Is there a fitment issue using these lowers with the ciro 3d highway pegs that come out from under the floorboard? I love those highway pegs, would hate to find out they would contact any part of the lowers. Thanks!

“Always check everything 2-3 times a year” Well, if it was installed right the first time I shouldn’t ever have to worry about it when checking for loose nuts/bolts after the first 100miles. That statement makes me worried about if I should even buy the product.

Will the '13 and older (pre-rushmore) style lowers fit on later bikes? I have a 2017 FLHR. I prefer the earlier style lower to the later style.
