Hey man I dont want to rain on your parade but were not gonna last seventeen hours...." Ripley: "Hudson, Hudson! This little girl longer than that with no weapons and no training. (looking at Newt) Right?" (Newt salutes hudson) Hudson: "Why dont 'cha put her in charge?"

Pretty certain the tiles with the little 'bulbs' on the corner prevent diagonal movement. Just for future - makes moving through those doors very different. Same with LoS

This is why it's important not to frontload recording your videos vs publication so you can make sure you're doing the rules correctly. Four games in and he was still making the same game-changing errors as the first game, mainly the Defensive Fire (It isn't overwatch, it can only be done against an Alien that comes into base contact), blip movement (d6, not 6) and the flamethrower not being able to be used for defensive fire, all of which made this scenario a lot easier. And overlooked the rules for how Full Auto weapons work, which may have made it slightly harder, but irrelevant since everyone was moving faster and able to defend themselves easier.

Blips on a tile only move a d6 not an automatic 6.

Sentry guns fire as soon as a alien (Blips) appears. Don't continue the alien move forward until sentry resolves shot, if alien (blip) survives move one again and repeat until alien is killed or run's out of moves.

I love the play of the game. I want to pick it up now. Everything you were doing I had flashbacks to the movies, how the characters spoke, even sound effects.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m sad Ripley died so soon especially after the entire last game was to save her ☹️

A most entertaining campaign, thank you!

Yeah, watching this game is impressed me. It seemed to take the mechanics I loved from the Leading Edge Aliens board game and combined them with a really clever usage of the endurance deck. Losing cards permanently was simple mechanically but it brought alot to the horror feel.

When I saw it originally thought it was something along the line "since we've got all this licensed stuff we don't really need to care about mechanics" and was expecting it to be balanced as well as "Lost Patrol". Picked it up anyway though b/c you cannot go wrong with the 16 aliens and 7 characters from the movie for $50. However looks like they thought mechanics really well and the game is fun to play. Wish they went a bit more innovative with aliens like in GW did with Space Hulk in 2009 where genestealers crushing through the floors, walls and hanging from the ceiling...

Love this game, am playing the last scenario myself tonight. Before you add in the expansions, read the rules on autofire from pulse rifles and smart guns again. Also, look at defensive fire , you can only do it when they aliens get adjacent to you. And lastly, flamethrowers CANNOT defense fire :D

Lots of fun watching this campaign and look forward to more. After the first two I decided to order a copy of the game. Great work as always.

My son and I played this mission lastnight. Took us 4 hours.... no idea how you did it in 28 min. LoL. The game is fun though. Ironically in our playthrough, only Ripley,Hicks & Newt made it out. Go figure

Hey Ash, entertaining Batrep as always, however, at the risk of sounding like a total nerd, I'm afraid you got several rules wrong and I thought I'd tell you on here so that if you (hopefully) do another campaign with the expansions, you will get to experience the true horror that can be the difficulty in this game. First if you look at the last page if the rulebook (p27), there's a keyword glossary. There you will see the rule for certain weapons. The Flamethrower has the "Cumbersome" Keyword. This means that it CANNOT be used in defensive fire. So all of Hudsons defensive fire kills didn't count. But he died anyway, so never mind ,lol. The Pulse Rifle and Smartgun both have the "Full Auto" Keyword, and so can continue to fire until you miss. Wasn't sure if you knew as I can't remember you you using this ability at all. This also counts in defensive fie too, so can get you out of some real jams! It also turn Hero Vasquez into an absolute Swarm Slayer! Last but not least, blips don't move a standard 6 squares. They move D6 squares. You should roll a D6 for all the blips on that particular tile, and then move them that amount (p22 of the rulebook under blip movement). This actually makes the game harder at times, as the blips can all build their numbers up far away from the marines and then rush them with overwhelming numbers. I find this makes the alien much more dangerous and a much scarier prospect to face down. I don't know if you were houseruling movement for the sake of simplicity or speed, but if not, I thought I'd let you know. Hopefully I don't come across as a complete nerd, and this is in no way a criticism of your video, as I think all your videos are ace, and I know many people struggled with the rules when it came out. I only had the chance to grasp them because I caught COVID and had two weeks with nothing to do but play the game and read the rules. Hope you get to read this, stay safe.

question... Could you have double moved Ripley infant of the last spawn point and covered the door by the exit stopping the aliens from coming out?

Hmm some rule mistakes. Opening an exit spawns 2 blips at each. Flamer is cumbersome and cant defensive fire. Nice vid though.

IIRC you can't move diagonally through certain corners. Like some walls have a corner that is cut off while others have a octagon or the like on them with the octagon corners blocking diagonals. Also IIRC Aliens, or maybe just blips, are random movement. And now I wanna see you play D&D Adventure System Board Games. (Might also be a good source for additional models for Lasting Tales. Especially if you can dig up the Dungeon Command sets as well.)
