This Wall Mounted Folding Workbench is a Game Changer for Small Workshops! Static workbenches suck up a lot of valuable space in your workshop. Having a workbench that you can fold up and store flat against your wall frees up so much space. In my case, l can now park my car in the garage which l haven’t been able to do for a number of years! You’re going to love this one.
I hope you enjoy it 👍😁

Very nicely done! The excellent thing about this wall mounted bench/table is that when you release it from it's stored position, it can be wheeled to any location. If my memory serves me well, the others I have seen simply fold down off of the wall and stay remain attached to the wall on one side. Good thinking!

That is one stable work bench, for sure. And the folding and storing is quite useful. Great project! One little pro tip from a professional here: If you want to avoid splintering when you drill through wood, tightly clamp a scrap piece against your work piece and drill into it. This will hold your precious surface fibres in place and they'll go nowhere undesired. You can even pre drill a sacrificial piece and use it as a guide and tear-out-avoider for the top surface. That's complicated, but you can have clean entry and exit holes in your wood.

Hi there! I’ve made my workbench using your plans (that not-folding one). I use it for some time now and now I’m adding some shelves and drawers to it. Unfortunately walls in my shop are to thin to hold whole workbench and I don’t need folding table but we all know that the biggest fun is about creating it, using is just a side effect 😅. Instant connection with a brother that I have not seen for most of his life due to life and working away and family issues. Great workbench. I made one of them a while back because I have the same problem. Can't leave the General outside, otherwise it'd go missing. Yours looks a lot better than mine though, might have to remake mine. Cheers mate. 👍🍺🍺👍

Damn! I'm jealous .. this one looks good. I've already made one of your workbenches (you listed the link above .. vid was done 9 years ago .. blimey time flies) and it's still rock solid. I reckon it'll be around long after I've shuffled off this mortal coil. Hmmm, wonder if I could pass mine on to my son, then I could have a bash at this one... ? Cheers Knackers 👍👍🙂

Shane, with this vid you've solved a vexing problem for me. That is how to make a table for folding laundry that itself can be folded up onto the wall out of the way while not in use. I don't need the table to stand on four legs and be mobile, but your folding leg design with a central strut to lock them in place can be modified for the front legs on a table hinged to the wall. Thanks, mate! By the way, I see that you used what could be a metal wall stud or maybe an aluminum rectangular box extrusion as your saw guide for making that long cut. That's another idea I like. Thanks, Shane.

@diyforknuckleheads Жыл бұрын
Rick....this style of bench would be perfect for your laundry with just a few simple modifications 👍 The rectangle piece of metal is just a length of rectangle, box aluminium that l generally use as a straight edge which is also perfect for using with a circular saw to cut a straight line. Cheers mate 👍🇦🇺😁

Another great job.. love the vids... If you drill the leg hole from the inside outwards (as in the centre mark you put on the leg) then you dont need to measure the outside of he table (05.48)

I am a fan of those drop-down casters, much better security than having things on wheels with brakes. I have the same struggles getting out of the car but the way I see it, it is part of the healthy eating routine... if I get too fat, I'll be stuck in the car until I can lose the weight 🤣🤣

😂.....l'm with you all the way re the weight loss program James! Looks like l'd better cut back on the cheese and bickies. Yeah, having the bench sit flat on the ground makes such a difference....highly recommend those castors.....thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺

Put some dog holes and track channels in that sucker. Add a removable notch plate big enough for a circular saw base to screw down to. Make a couple more plates the same size to undermount a jigsaw, router, etc. Or make more notch plate holes and gain the ability to have all three at once. Now you have a table saw, a table jigsaw, a router table, and a surface that you can assemble, clamp, vice, and square cabinets on. And it all removes quickly, folds back up, and fits on the wall. Hang the circular saw, jigsaw, and router on the wall by their notch plates too if you really want to go nuts.

Awesome build! Just got the plans hopefully making it this weekend. I was wondering what the use of the black strip of plywood is for on the bottom ledger board?
@diyforknuckleheads
@diyforknuckleheads Ай бұрын
Thanks Aldo and l appreciate you purchasing the Plans mate. The Black strip serves two purposes. Number 1: It looks good and Number 2: It makes the Ledger a little wider which makes folding the table to the wall a little safer 👍 Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺

Hi wanted to know if you could do a workbench tutorial with a twist. I have a table saw and router which I would like to add to a bench but I don’t want to use the metal plate of the table saw because it wasn’t manufactured very well and also I bought a mitre jig I liked and the track it uses is 30mm wide ( big I know). My problem is I Ewan to know the best way to attach the saw correctly and straight. Many thanks keep up the good work

My big question, While it’s locked down (not wheels but wood to floor) is this able to handle chopping action like a big mortis or more just assembly? By big I mean Like a 1” mortis in a 4x4?? My shop is small but things are moveable but I lack something to do mortis work confidently. Thanks and cheers mate!

Thanks for your video. Really appreciate it. I definitely need the space in my mini shop. I wanted to ask you about the sturdiness of the workbench. Can it withstand hand planing without rocking? I mean is it sturdy enough for hand tools?

Thanks Alvaro. The fact that the legs fold means that there is a little movement if you vigoursly plane down some wood. Cheers 👍
