There are just some horrible people in the world who do and say horrible things. Please don't think that even a tiny bit what they say is true. You are a wonderful gentle person who has given me much joy at a very difficult time in my life, as well as being a great knitter.

Another delightful episode Amy. Thank you. I love that you try different things in your podcast to keep YOU inspired. I'm gobsmacked that people have the audacity and, quite frankly and in my opinion, the bad manners, to tell you they don't like the changes you make. A podcast that you record in your own precious time, and upload for us to watch (or not) for free! Let's hope those people slink away more quietly in future. I'm very envious of your upcoming trips away, have fun! ❤

Thank you for another delightful episode. I am grateful for your podcast - whatever the format, as it is a lovely gift. Your thoughtfulness and sharing of your knitting are very much appreciated. Thank you for the beautiful footage of the walled garden. I am knitting two baby blankets for a friend’s twin newborn grandchildren. I chose to knit them at the same time on a 60-inch needle, otherwise I probably would never complete them. I was just talking to a knitting friend about Amy Christoffer’s crochet and knit cardigan. I might try to make it, although, I don’t crochet much and never know where it insert the hook. I am looking forward to the next episode and wish you happy knitting (and crocheting). ❤

What an encouraging thoughtful podcast. I have indeed left a village and even moved to the other side of the world. At times I have missed what I left behind in my childhood but have gained so much as I tried to take on new things and challenges regularly throughout my life. Take those amazing leaps, continue to challenge yourself and let the joy of that process build you and grow in many different ways you never knew existed. challenges

This is my Birthday gift, so thank you !! I grew up in the Redwood forests of JOHN MUIR In northern California, so this was a lovely reminder of those beauties. They are quite special trees and seem perfectly at home in Scottland , too. I have been hearing the calls of the Granny Square lately, too... so it must be in the mists somewhere. Have seen several sweaters using them, but that one is the best one for sure. We'll see who has the courage to do it first ! I have done several shawls that are plain garter stitch and then done a crochet lace border and I quite like the combination. You might try it. I just made up some stitches that made up a scallop stitch like one from my memory of a wool jersey cape that my Mom made me that had a crochet edge. Anyway, thanx again , it was a lovely visit.. as always.

Amy, I too fell in love with the Ariana cardigan when Sarah showed it on her podcast. As a knitter I have delved into making some granny squares for a blanket. I had the thought of crocheting my 3 grandchildren a blanket each for Christmas. We'll see if I can accomplish that on time. I'm hopeful. Take care dear Amy, loving the extra footage you are sharing. 🤗

Such a wonderful episode! I enjoy them all, in whatever format you choose at the time. To me they are a gift that brightens my day. This episode in particular really gave me much to think about. Just yesterday I finished assembling my new spinning wheel. I took a spinning class this past April and, well, here we are. Your words about new skills being daunting (yes, they certainly can be) and accepting “the inelegance of our own process” were so timely. But you also spoke of the expansion and joy that can come out of our exploration of new to us things. That got me to thinking about how to celebrate the “inelegant” offerings that will result from my new practice (because, gosh, there certainly will be some!), and it occurred to me there’s likely a few designers with patterns where I could add bits of the yarn from my wheel, however wonky and imperfect. Stephen West immediately comes to mind. We’ll see where it goes! Oh, and I loved your Dad’s poem very much. Thank you, also, for sharing that. ❤

I loved the photos of the family Amy! and I think we have Sarah of It is a Sarah to thank for the rivival of crochet! I stopped crocheting in the 80's mainly because of the yarn choices and those colours - orange and brown - but I too have a strong hankering to crochet granny squares again!!!

I have also tried to move away from production knitting this year and concentrate on those aspects of the craft that have brought comfort throughout these many years (65+) of practice. I have recently finished a beautiful crochet blanket called the Battenberg blanket by Sandra Paul from the Cherry Heart podcast. I also didn’t know much about crochet but Sandra has some very good KZfaq instructions that explain how to do it. So now I have a beautiful queen size blanket. The other great thing about this blanket is it’s made of small squares(very portable) and they are crochet together as you go so no sewing up.

So excited for you to start your crochet journey! I found the Stitch and Bitch ‘Happy Hooker’ book by Debbie Stoller fantastic when I was learning to crochet. The patterns are a little bit dated now, but I really liked how she explained things - so much so that I acquired the learn to knit book by the same author when I was beginning my knitting journey last year. Good luck!x

Amy, another delightful episode and I can’t thank you enough for reaching me so much through your experiences and creative process. I’m in the middle of the episode right now as I sip on freshly brewed coffee on an almost tropical morning here in Dublin - the song birds were so loud, as was the torrential downpour at 4am today, that I just had to wake up, take in the “quiet” morning vibes and start knitting and add you to the soundtrack of my morning before the daily chaos of my children wake up to start the day. Oh my, that was a mouthful 😅 Just thank you for your beautiful and soul-revitalising podcast. Have a happy and wonderfully beautiful Tuesday 🫶🏽

I’m really enjoying this new format. It feels very relaxing to me as if you’ve just dropped in for a chat. I also watch Sarah and Ivana. I love the look of that granny square cardigan, I can manage to crochet granny squares, but nothing else! Sarah always makes we want to take it up again. She is just delightful, and I love how she talks about her “heart jumping” when something pleases her. I also ordered that yarn from Lovecraft after watching Ivana, such a bargain! Too hard to resist. I have two jumper quantities in Poppy and Peony. I can recommend Sandra, from Cherry Heart podcast. Her crochet work is outstanding, and she also has some basic tutorials. She knits too, but mainly crochets, and her blanket designs are really something special. I didn’t know we had Redwood trees in Scotland. Did you hug one? Such lovely footage at the end of your podcast. ❤

Thank you Amy for sharing a card this episode! I've actually really enjoyed that part of your podcasts. With that said, I've really, really been enjoying the "structure-less structure" you've been experimenting with. Its is so great to get back to the practice and why we knit vs the production line. I've been struggling a little bit with that as well as of late. Your consistent conversation and reflections on the craft of knitting are so inspiring and give me points to reflect on with my own craft, very much appreciated! I hope you are doing well and have a great weekend!

Hi Amy, enjoyed your podcast. I received my PomPom Magazine today, when I saw the Limonata blouse on the cover I just has to purchase it. Crochet is my first love into the fiber world. Warms my heart seeing lots of talented crochet designers. Hopefully I will see at Wool & Folk Festival this year.

Hi Amy. Love all your podcasts, whichever format you use. Im just so grateful that you take the time to be here for us. Bobwilson123 taught me to crochet, from scratch! I wanted to learn i new skill when i retired and found her vidoes on youtube, entertaining and very clearly filmed. Shes an Australian lady, so she uses American crochet terms, which i find are simpler than British ones, although its easy to convert. Shes worth a look. Happy crocheting!

A great way to wake up on Knit in Public Day (June 10) and get to knit with you, Amy! I too am getting bitten by the crochet bug and am very much an amateur crocheter (or hooker, as I have hear it irreverently called). I love “its a Sarah’s” crochet cardi, but for a cautionary tail, check out Stitches be Slipping- a podcast by a young Canadian maker from Alberta, who had a bit of a disastrous disappointment making her version. I loved your walk in the woods and the squirrels flights of fancy- oh to be able to leap and dive through the forest canopy like that. I so loved climbing trees as a child, the sense of accomplishment of finding the perfect hand and foot holds to gain the desired spot and then quietly meditating and observing the world from your private perch. We have glorious forests all over our beautiful province of British Columbia, here in Canada, with trees that have been growing for hundreds of years. I love the concept of stepping out of our village. I have been doing just that with my knitting and crafting adventures- trying to keep an aging mind sharp.

I enjoy your podcast no matter what format you use Amy….you do you, I say❣️I learned to crochet when I was 8 (am 69 now..whew) and it was from a booklet Coats and Clark Learn How…first printed in 1959 and I actually see that it’s still available. Of course used and way pricier than when I was little. The reason I like it even now, I thought that the crochet part of the booklet was very understandable. It was in American terms as opposed to the English. In our KZfaq world these days, it probably is obsolete. Wishing you success in your crochet journey.💞

What a lovely podcast! I enjoyed every minute and loved seeing so many wonderful patterns yarns and the other non-yarncraft content. It's very interesting to hear your thoughts on working outside your comfort zone and I was delighted to hear you mention my Wefan Tee pattern as one you'd like to try! Wow!🤩Especially so in this episode that features your sons in their beautiful kilts because getting to watch tartan being woven during a trip to Edinburgh was a big part of the inspiration for the design. I do hope that you find time to spend in the village of crochet and agree that a granny square is the perfect place to start. If you do try Wefan at some point and have any questions, just let me know. ☺

Thank you for the tip about the Coorie Ceative sale - just bought three bundles of Rowan Felted Tweed 😊 A lovely podcast as always, and great to hear Gala being mentioned. I’ve lots of family there but didn’t realise about Tangled until it was far too late (I live 6 hours away). I’m also hoping for Tangled 2024!
