I jumped right in to it after watching several videos. Used a harbor freight to do my first time. Liked doing it so much I went out and bought the g8, g15, and g21. Then the Dewalt dwp849 to learn the rotary on test panels. Then I got the cheap spta to get in to tight spaces like on my motorcycle

I'm going to do it soon as the weather gets in the upper 50's. I am going to use Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid Polish & Wax. I bought the Bauer 64529 last week for $59! I am going to do a light 2 pass like Brian shows and use a blue-pad. My black Corvette is pretty good looking except it seems to have haze, needs a little cleaning and pop. Thanks Brian!!!

I've done a few now. It's a very satisfying feeling to the end result. I did struggle with a Griots garage 15mm constantly stalling out on a semi I was working on. I would like to get a different 15mm polisher.

You are SO right about “once you try it, you’ll be hooked”! I went the Harbor Freight/Hybrid Solutions route and I’m loving the results. My car, wife’s car, both daughters cars and mother in laws car they all look great. The Hybrid Solutions products along with your videos gave me the confidence to try and I’m so glad I’ve learned to invest some time into polishing, protecting and improving the look of our vehicles. Thanks for sharing your talents through these videos.

Great vid. I feel this was a very informative video. You answered a few questions that were running around my head. Also you show that you don’t need to have the most expensive equipment to do good work. Brian, I would like for you to clarify one thing. Do you go through a bunch of pads or do you clean them enough where you are only using three or four pads per car(mid size car). Thank you

APEX DETAIL!!! Absolutely brilliant advice and many thanks for all of your incredible videos. Question on soft paint (2013 WHITE LEXUS), would a troq22D paired with Lake Country 5.25" One Step Light Cutting Microfiber Pads and Meguiar’s DA Microfiber Correction Compound work well? Would polish with same DA, Lake Country white heavy Polishing CCS Foam Pads and Sonax Profiline Perfect Finish? The car has never been detailed since I've owned it for 3yrs, mostly light to moderate swirls and some medium scratches. Again, thank you for all your hard work and educational videos.

Brian, your videos have been extraordinarily helpful. We appreciate all the time you put into this. You typically talk about clear coat corrections, but some of us amateurs are working with single stage paint. I am getting ready to tackle a 2008 MINI Cooper with Chili Red and white single stage paint. The paint is in pretty good shape, it’s just a 12-year old car that has the various moderate scratches and hazing that comes with a car that old which has never been corrected. I use the Turtle Wax ceramic line of products to maintain shine, so I am leaning toward the TW polish/wax. I have the Griot's G9 machine. What pad(s) would you recommend? It’s my wife’s car and I’m willing to put a couple of stages of correction into it to make it nice. Thanks again for all the knowledge you pass on.

Great video! Thank you. I bought a dark blue 06 Scion tc and it has a 50' detail aka looks great from 50' lol but up close it's very swirly and minor scratches. I bought the Griots polisher and orange, yellow, black and microfiber pads, also several brands of polish and sealant. After watching your video I'm certain now I can start with Griots products. I'm hesitant to get started because the clearcoat is peeling off on the top of the rear bumper and a few small spots on the pillars. Would this car be considered to have soft clearcoat? If so, which color pads should I use to cut, polish then seal? 1 last question, how do you feel about cordless polishers? I live in a area that has dirt driveways and no garage. I'm looking at the Milwaukee 20v 5 ah. Thank you in advance Myke

Hi Brian. You have a great approach to providing information because you're very specific. Thank you! I do have a question the I, personally, don't think requires too many specifics. Before I ask you this question. I want you to know that I'm asking for your opinion and that I am solely responsible for doing enough research to avoid any negative outcomes in case something I do doesn't work out well. I take full responsibility for any outcome. You are NOT responsible if I screw anything up. Having said that... Now, here's my question for you. I bought a 2006 Scion tc that has clear coat damage that I want to fix. The paint also needs correction. I may need to get the factory color paint matched for the purposes of clear coat and a few other scratch repairs. I've been told by the Auto paint store that provides paints for most of the local body shops in my neighborhood, that my Scion has six different variations on the specific silver color on my car and that I should compound out a section of the paint to select the correct color to use for any repairs. My question for you is... Should I work on correcting the paint of the entire car and then use the 5000 grit wet sanding to prep the damaged areas for spraying any new clear coat AFTER all of the paint correction has been done? Or, should I just prep and repair the damaged clear coat areas and spray them with a couple of passes BEFORE I do the paint correction on the entire car? Any advice would be helpful.
