I was anorexic and had the same issues as eugenia. When people showed concern i felt like they were bullying me. I only wanted to be around people who didnt mention my weight. It wasnt until i recovered that i realized all those people cared about me and wanted the best for me. Eugenias brain has most definitely shrunk from malnutrition. Its like everyday her vocabulary gets smaller and shes regressing big time

I think a big issue as well is how infantilized Eugenia is. I often forget she’s almost 30 because of the way she dresses and talks, and Deb hasn’t helped at all in helping her become an adult. That’s why blame is placed on Deb because although Eugenia is technically an adult, she doesn’t have the maturity to make healthy choices for herself.

@@AutisticKittyStari dont agree at all. Ive seen this girl have an e.d. since very young. She hid herself in her room under the guise of shes streaming etc. Streaming helped her hide away from everyone so no one could pay attention to if she was eating or not. Deb as a mother didnt know jack about streaming etc but let Eugenia do her thing and be happy. That family doesnt need her money. Do you realize they come from old generational money?? Eugenia was allowed to do what she wanted and she did exactly that. Staying at home, being codependent etc. People want to blame her mother but by the time things got really bad she was already an adult. They even want to bring up Deb in her videos and saying shes ok. OF COURSE SHES GOING TO SAY THAT. Look at her face though and listen to her tone. Its heartbreaking to imagine what her mother has gone through on a daily basis.

@@BeautifulCrazyy I'm guessing you didn't watch the video where they swapped lives for a day. I've been watching Eugenia since her YouNow days. Deb is a bad mother, end of. I know someone who was friends with Eugenia, they hung out a lot and they saw how controlling Deb really is. Controlling parents can be the cause of ED's. My mother is the cause of mine, I'm a victim of all kinds of abuse and my mother infantilises me, I know the signs. If you can't see that then that's your problem not mine Edit: mentalhelp website: Research also indicates that families of individuals with ED's tend to be overprotective, perfectionistic, rigid, and focused on success. eatingdisorderhope website: Daughters of mothers who report feeling a lack of control over their daughter’s activities are more likely to experience body dissatisfaction and engage in restríctive eatíng behaviors. Daughters are more likely to be dissatisfied with their bodies when their mother feels that they do not have a right to their own autonomy as well as if their mother finds it important that their relationship lack boundaries. When mothers and daughters find it important that their relationship lack boundaries (i.e., are enmeshed), daughters are more likely to engage in restrictíve eatíng behaviors. mangoclinic website: The exact cause of anorexía is unknown. As with many diseases, it's probably a combination of biological, psychological and environmental factors.

33:56 I’ve noticed 2 things about this whole “deodorant” conversation. First, I forget her name but the woman who is talking to Eugenia about the deodorant, is speaking to her, the same way I used to talk to my sons friends (when he was a teenager) if they seemed uncomfortable, or to kind of just make them feel included in the conversation if they were shy. The 2nd thing is, Eugenia has NO IDEA how to speak like a normal person. She just doesn’t have any people skills. She reacted the same way to this woman’s deodorant getting thrown away as she would’ve if the woman said someone died! Really! Go back and look! The way she says “OMG IM SO SORRY” was a RIDICULOUS way to respond to someone telling you their deodorant got thrown in the garbage. It just shows the effects of her never leaving the house and actually talking to people in real life. It’s really sad.

Eugenias dentist is in Massachusetts and she (and/or Deb) refuse to see any other dentist. Apparently they've known the Dr forever 🙄 (people speculate he ignores the ED & treats her regardless of safety concerns) so they refuse to find a new dentist & literally make the trip every time there's an appointment. once anorexia takes hold, the person's capacity can become impaired. Eugenia may lack the capacity to make her own decisions. Debs is too entrenched in this situation to make decisions for Euenia and she also has a young person with disabilities to look after and consider.. Eugenia really needs an independent mental health advocate who can help with best-interest decisions - this is ideally how it works in the UK

I do take issue with Deb getting a free pass because she has carefully orchestrated that Eugenia is very isolated and was the one who took her out of treatment against the Drs orders. I definitely do think that there is enmeshment. I don't really think she wants her to get help. I think Dad is very codependent and needs Eugenia to need her. She has helped her stay in this childlike state for almost 14 years. Deb needs a lot of therapy and probably an intervention of her own intervention of her own. She is not well.

I'd like someone to come into her life and get eugenia doing the things that make her happy (not streaming) like drawing and sketching, or finding a new hobby, just things that force her brain into stimulation, and I feel like that could help get her brain in a more receptive state, enriching her mind and soul I think is the key, keeping herself in such a shallow and superficial hobby like the internet isn't feeding the right monster, I truly feel like the start would be guiding her away from validation and into more creative expression like art where validation isn't needed, where it's purely just a peice of someone's spirit. I feel the same, but I think she's been sick for so long that she doesn't even know what she likes to do besides making videos and doing makeup, the only things that have remained constant in her life. I know that's how I was when I finally stopped being an addict -- I had no idea who I was, what I liked to do, or even what my favorite color was. She truly needs someone kind and patient to help her try and discover new things that she can enjoy in a safe-at-first setting. I always thought that if Eugenia didn't only do makeup, she could be a travel vlogger. She has the money and means to go anywhere in the world, and if her vocabulary was better than "That's super cute! It's so pretty and everything like that," she could show her audience some crazy, alternative, off the beaten path locations that other channels don't show.

Your videos are helping me stay sober as much as I’m able to I swear. I’ve been batteling alcohol addiction for 10+ years and I’m finally in a program getting help after being in deep denial and around a bunch of enablers for years. Just listening to you talking is calming me and distracts me from my thoughts. To see her so far down in her own addiction is also sad ofc, but she has to want help to change. No one could ever help me, I had to be the one that wanted help. One day in September found myself actually wanting to just drink until I died, because then I at least could die happy. The next day I woke up in fear and panic and told my friend to please take me to the doctor, because I didn’t have it in me to go there by myself. I even tried to convince her to turn around when we were on our way there 5 hours later.. I’m not 100% sober yet, but in october I only had half the amount of beers comparing to the month before. And trust me when I say, it is never easy with those intrusive thoughts just pushing those cravings, but they do fade. And easing off does work for some. That crutch, medication gives you can follow you for years. Took me 13'years to be off everything. You owe your addiction a kick, and no matter what....you will have to pay it. I'm a dietitian and I've seen people like her and at this stage of disease at this age, there's rarely turning back and premature death is inevitable unless a miracle happens and they accept treatment. If she carries on like this she only has a few years left and possibly much less, that's what we know from statistics of people suffering from AN at this disease stage. Maybe Jeffree has thought about that, I sure hope so.

If you haven’t already, you need to read Jennette McCurdy’s memoir. Not only is it so well written and such a good read, it’s SO relevant to this topic. (Jenette also is the voice of the Audio book and does such a good job if you don’t have time to sit and read). She talks about her experience growing up with a mom who enabled her ED, pushed her to stay in the acting scene when she didn’t want to anymore, etc. I think if Deb wasn’t in the picture, I have no doubt in my mind Eugenia would recover. When Jenette’s mom died, that’s when she hit rock bottom, but that was also what needed to happen for Jenette to recover. Seriously though, please give it a read. It’s SO insightful to hear such a similar struggle through the eyes of the person who has the condition.

😂 “I was born in ‘96, I think Karen Carpenter was sometime in the 80’s” I love you Jordy! The way you say things, you’re so funny!! Karen Carpenter did pass away in 1983, but people knew of her way before then. Karen started dieting while still in high school. Under doctors' advice, she began the Stillman diet, eating just lean foods and drinking eight glasses of water a day, and avoiding fatty foods. This reduced her weight to 120 pounds until 1973, when the Carpenters' career peaked. Later that year, she saw a photo of herself at a concert and thought she looked "heavy". She hired a personal trainer who told her to change her diet, which caused her to build muscle, making her seem heavier rather than slimmer. Karen fired the trainer, and began her own weight loss schedule by counting calories. She soon lost about 20 pounds and hoped to lose more. Her eating habits saw her getting food off her plate by offering it to others. By 1975, her weight was just about 84 lbs. Some fans had noticed and wrote to ask what may be wrong. She refused to publicly say she was in ill, and in 1981 she said she was just "pooped". Richard (her brother)later said he and his parents didn't know how to help her. She told Richard that she needed help with her anorexia. She chose to be treated in New York City by psychotherapist Steven Levenkron. In the 1980s, Karen also started using thyroid replacement medication, which increased her metabolism, and laxatives, which made food pass quickly. Her condition continued to get worse, and she lost even more weight. In September 1982, she was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, where she was placed on an intravenous drip. The procedure was a success, and she started gaining weight, but this put a strain on her heart. She managed to keep a stable weight for the rest of her life after this point. On January 11, 1983, Karen made her final public appearance at a gathering of past Grammy Award winners. She looked frail, but according to friend Dionne Warwick, she appeared outgoing, telling everyone: "Look at me! I've got an ass!" On February 1, 1983, Karen saw her brother for the last time, discussing plans for a new Carpenters album. On February 4, she collapsed in her bedroom at her parents' home. Paramedics said her heart was beating once every 10 seconds, and she died at Downey Community Hospital at 9.51am. An autopsy ruled out drugs or a medication overdose, describing her death as "emetine cardiotoxicity due to or as a consequence of anorexia nervosa". She had a blood sugar level of 1,110 milligrams per decilitre, more than ten times the average. The coroner said that Carpenter's heart failure was caused by repeated use of ipecac syrup, an over-the-counter emetic used to induce vomiting. Just in case anyone wanted to know about her. ❤

And she was in the modeling business for a very short time I have watched it and she just didn’t seem to be happy about that time maybe because she was……more healthy than now or physically looked healthier……she dismisses that time period. And I watched a video where someone said they were 83 pounds and EC said “We are around the same weight” or something similar to that…and she is definitely thinner now…..it’s sad kinda like we are wait for the news sad news I hope she gets better however time will only tell

I was friend with someone who was anorexic in my teenage years, and it was a very delicate subject. Once she explained to me : « I know I’m not fat, I don’t see myself as fat when I look in the mirror. I would want to gain weight. I don’t think it’s beautiful being that skinny. But it’s not about that. It’s about control. Food is the only thing in my life that I can control right now. » Jordy I don’t think it’s fair when you say that someone who « allows this to happen » isn’t a real friend. I was her friend and was worried for her, but it’s very complicated talking to a person who has ED, especially when refuse to communicate. I encouraged her to take care of herself, and I knew she was making efforts to eat, but I can’t control her actions, you know. I don’t think I was being a bad friend…

If your friend is killing themselves and you sit idly by occasionally saying, "Oh, don't do that," then you have to see logically how people would consider that enabling. Obviously, you can't control anyone, but you can certainly take steps to intervene when a person is a detriment to their own safety. Take Jaclyn, for example. There are avenues to intervene. Whether it be an extreme intervention or a small family and friend intervention.

There are other things on the list. This could be a topic we could discuss? People with BPD wear a mask to the world , nas to control the pain you can feel that controlling something-like food makes you feel you have power of what you can or cant eat. I truly believe she’s gone through some very dark childhood trauma &/or abuse. I agree it would be great to have input from people like you & open a dialogue of what other factors could be at play here. I sincerely wish you healing in every way & hope you have people who unconditionally love & support you. Take care! 💕 Edit: To be clear to others, it’s in no way to diagnose anyone. I think when some of these TikTok people are telling her to be positive and ignore the haters and stuff like that, they might be saying it because they see how sick she is, and maybe they think if they’re really nice and positive to her and say how beautiful she is, ect., it’ll put her in a better place emotionally and she’ll be more likely to feel better about herself and confident and get help, if that makes sense. And by saying she’s beautiful they’re trying to say she doesn’t need to lose any more weight. And they don’t realize they’re enabling and probably doing more harm than good.

Those of you guys putting the responsibility on Eugenia as an adult, “she has the ability to change her life if she wants to,” I offer you this perspective. We already know that Deb was neglectful. In her “draw my life” video she described being strapped into a car seat for hours, I think overnight too. She became emotionally attached to it and named it Bucket. Her mother must have destroyed her mentally/emotionally. Eugenia NEVER stood a chance. How could she have the capacity to think life like a normal person if her mother robbed her of the chance? This situation is a lot more complicated than any of us could imagine. Eugenia is for sure mentally stunted.. add her ED on top of that and she’s literally a shell. And that’s evident. I mean take a look at her skewed perspective of what genuine friends are. It’s sad. She’s unaware of what the life she is missing even looks like

THIS! i literally am going to do anything in my power to make sure that when this train finishes wrecking Deb sees criminal charges. this woman's on camera refusing to do something about her daughter who clearly can't even do the simple teenager level things without holding her hand, she doesn't drive doesn't cook for herself, clearly she isn't well enough mentally to care for herself whatever the reasons beyond her obvious ED could be. not very long ago there was a case where this grown woman died *because she fused her skin to the couch laying there for 2 years not moving* and her family she lived with didn't do anything about it cause she was happy? some wack crazy shit like that was the reasoning, that she would be upset because she loved sitting there and they just let her lay in her filth for so long that they had to bring her nearly dead out of the house with the cushions because they'd kill her if they tried separating them. she died very soon after on the way to the ER or on arrival. she was an adult, not as old as Eugenia but can't remember age but she was in her 20s i believe, just wasn't fully independent which clearly Eugenia isn't either. there's so much content online of things that after she's finally done killing herself I can EASILY find enough evidence of wrongdoing on her part. there will be emails and phone calls and letters to senators and reps and officials and I will find someone who will see the neglect and abuse for what it is. debs on camera refusing to even entertain the fact that her daughter is sick and dying in front of her because she only cares about prancing around, behind the camera wheezing while her daughter "bes the model she always was meanted to be" and it's sickening. she took this girl out of school and took her on the road for the fcking jonas brothers tour. cps should've been in there a long time ago your day is coming Deb I will be making sure of it. tell your husband who hides from your paparazzi gig that he's gonna be coming with you too for this, you vile fcking pig of a person. you're probably reading this 🤮 your fake on camera voice is clear as crystal, you better work on that for the courts

I was a drug addict for many years. I destroyed everyone around me. I knew exactly what I was doing but didn’t care because drugs were more important. I was making the choice every single day to use drugs, and I could blame it on 1 million different things but at the end of the day it was my responsibility and my choice to do what I was doing. Eugenia knows exactly what she’s doing. She doesn’t just know what she’s doing, she flaunts it. She makes the choice everyday to give into her addiction. I don’t feel a single ounce of sympathy for her.She isn’t a young woman. She isn’t a child. Her brain is fully developed. I I honestly believe her eating disorder started because even though she looks like a skeleton, she has a very round face.

Exactly I think her eating disorder is because she has a very chubby face naturally, I actually think it's cute

I struggle with addiction as well and I also use to have an eating disorder. In my opinion they don't compare. They are very different. When someone tells you your addiction is worrying them you do feel bad. When someone tells you your eating disorder is worrying them you feel good. You feel proud of your progress. Addiction feels guilty and awful.

Addiction is a hard thing to overcome! I'm proud of you two and everyone else in this comment section who beat the struggle! While I do hope Eugenia will wisen up, the relapse of 2020 was absolutely devastating. I wish she could see she was beautiful after rehab even if she was still thin. But you can't help those who don't want it...

Jordy could you cover the rich lux, Jesse and Lily Eugenia situation?
@monicapyle
@monicapyle 9 ай бұрын
You hit the nail on the head, Jordy! Enabling is when we're doing things for another person that they could and should be doing on their own. As a result, enablers make the person comfortable in their situation (whether addiction or ED, etc). Enabling is usually done with good intentions but it doesn't produce good behaviors.

Eugenia does have a bedroom with a standard bed that she showed briefly on one of her videos. But I want to say she mentioned she stores a bunch of stuff in there now. She does shop a lot, I can imagine her actual bedroom is overflowing with stuff. She needs to purge and donate and stop sleeping on the couch.

I feel like Deb is just resigned to the inevitable at this point. We don't know what she's done trying to get Eugenia better. We don't know the yelling, screaming, crying, bribing, begging, etc that's been done over the years. We also don't know how abusive Eugenia herself may have been or may be to her mother. The way Eugenia handles people in her chat who are concerned is overtly dismissive, and subtly mean. Now turn the camera off and I can easily see her going insane towards her mother. Eugenia could very well be the abusive one and Deb has just been beaten down. The few things I've seen of Deb in these videos just reminds me of an abused wife of an alcoholic. They just try to keep the peace - say and do whatever it takes to try not to get beaten that day. In Deb's case, knowing that if her daughter gets angry or upset because Deb says any little thing wrong - it could cause Eugenia to have a heart attack - makes the need to be submissive that much more intense. Of couse, I'm just speculating - but thought I'd do it from Deb's side for a change. I don't know if there's an equivalent to Al-Anon for family of anorexics - but Deb should be going to it. If there's not, then Al-Anon can serve that purpose.

The Trick or Treating with parents driving up and down the street is so dangerous. Those people would annoy the crap out of me when I took my little sister out. They're not paying attention to the road on a night where kids are hopped up on candy and dopamine and make more poor choices than usual. 😩 If you're not going to put in the steps, don't do it. Go do trunk or treating or something else. Watching Eugenia's face when the kids came on the screen, I don't know if I'm reading into it, but I see a little sadness and confusion. Shawna is sassy, but you can tell she loves her kids. This is the most "normal" group of people I've seen her with and Eugenia is completely silent unless asked a question or when they talk about negative comments. She would benefit being surrounded by everyday people rather than J* kind of people, imo.

I don't think it's because she doesn't have a choice. Let me rephrase.. she might not have a choice if Deb or someone is making her go to MA, but I don't think she wants to come off to her audience as being forced to do something by real adults. I think she's trying to make it appear as if she is the real adult and she's got to go do real adult business like a normal person. I think that she really got a taste of what it feels like to live a little in Wyoming and it made her feel important as if she was an actual part of society. Saying "gotta go to MA for a few days" is just Eugenia being intentionally vague to her audience to cause/inspire intrigue and create a fake sense of her being an important part of society. Like she's a traveling business woman with lots of important normal societal things to do. See guys, I don't just sit in my room all day, I'm a grown woman and I travel and I have best friends. I'm a woman on the go! (If you know Luxeria, you know the reference lol)

MA seems like a Deb place to "gotta go" to haha. Deb "gotta go to MA for a few days" and Eugenia as the dependent child "gotta go" when Deb says she "gotta go". I wonder if the dad still claims Eugenia as a dependent on his taxes. Most likely.

the father CANT with Eugenia at almost age 30 unless she is designated BY the US govt as disabled and is receiving SSDI assistance. wouldnt that be comical for someone who sells her anorexic body online for money? @@Hell_Kell

I get a feeling the father has got a family somewhere else with other kids...so he can afford to ' waste' this family as an investment. They're either a secret or not, so from time to time keep going places as a unit to give the dad his space.....
