Except that Connor skipped through a bunch of stuff in CT and abused the hell out of the Turbo button. You can’t skip cutscenes in CT but he sure rushed through the game and sipped like 60% of NPCs. And obviously didn’t do New Game Plus or get any of the different endings like what happens when you kill Magus or leave Chrono dead etc.

Himmel didn't confess to Frieren because due to all the time they spent together, he knew that Frieren doesn't understand romantic emotions. It's kinda the whole point of the show that it takes Frieren looking back at these moments after many many decades to understand that her relationship with Himmel was special. It's really... tragic

My grandma lost her husband in the war during her twenties and she never had a relationship ever again until her death at the age of 96. Himmel the hero was one of the four people to defeat the demon king and was revered by all humans for that and helping whoever came his way. Any woman would probably love him for what he did and not for his character. Any woman except Frieren who traveled and fought beside him. On top of that, the first time Frieren and Himmel met was when he was a child lost in the woods feeling lonely for the first time, she gave him hope by casting the field of flowers. Real core memory shit as Garnt would say :D So Frieren was just not replaceable for Himmel. Loving her and helping everyone in need was what gave him fulfillment in life, even if she lacked the emotional intelligence to reciprocate his feeling.

I live alone, and still prefer to be fully dressed if I'm outside of my bedroom, lol. I do sometimes have night sweats unfortunately though, so it varies how dressed I am when I sleep. It's gotten better ever since I took the time to clean the fan I always use each night for ambient noise (like Garnt, I try to not use AC overnight). Now that it's clean, it blows such cold air that I sometimes habe to turn it away from my face, which is awesome. It's just a cheap, plastic standing fan I got from Walmart for about $20 nearly nine years ago. It'd been about a year since the last cleaning, so it'd collected dust. Here's just a friendly reminder that your fans might not be crappy because of age, but because of dirt 😂 I do hate socks, however, no matter how comfy they are and will only begrudingly put them on for a few hours in the winter. Once I'm warm, I always kick them off like a baby, and usually can't remember when it was that I kicked them off so I have to retrace my steps to find them. Usually, it's under my desk and I removed them while taking calls 😅. Or, they're tangled in the bed covers.

1:06:52 Jokes aside, I think that's one of the points of Frireren. They're all developing their emotional maturity together. Frieren herself is developing from this home schooled kid who don't know much about human interaction, to someone who's starting to get it more. I think every flashback is an introspection where something clicked for Frieren or any of the characters. And developmentally, it made sense. Flamme have to focus Frieren because her time scale is comparatively short. So there was not a lot of time to teach her about what it means to be human. There were only tidbits. Fern also suffer from the same developmental problems. Her parents died when she was young, and was stuck with an old priest (that sounds really bad, I know). When Frieren finally got to her, it was all the same. Nothing but magic.

Neither Garnt nor Connor understand Himmel at all. He was intentionally vague about his flirting, on purpose, because he knew she wouldn't be able to recognize them, because he knew that an actual relationship with her wouldn't work out well due to their lifespans. He didn't wanna burden her with the rather quick death of her lover, which would be much heavier than just staying as friends. He didn't think she was friendzoning him. He was friendzoning her, while simultaneously showing his love for her just enough for her not to notice.

To enlighten the pajama arguement, they aren't for when you're sleeping, but in the evening until going to sleep. They are comfy to lounge in (like sweat pants). For context, I sleep in boxers, but love my pajamas and will pack them. (but they probably are first on the chopping block.)

I wonder what their opinions on similar games like Fez or Tunic would be. There's a lot less focus on the story for Fez, and Tunic has some level of story elements to it, but I'm curious how that would affect Connor's enjoyment of them in comparison to Void Stranger and Fear & Hunger. Some other games in this "subgenre" are: Outer Wilds, Toki Tori 2, La Mulana 1 & 2, Her Story, There are also some other games I know of that are kinda similar, but don't feel like they fit in the same "subgenre" including The WItness, Baba is You, Antichamber, Heaven's Vault, and Return of the Obra Dinn. They all, in some way or another, harken back to that time before widespread knowledge was available about games, like they talked about in this episode.

Regarding Himmel not confessing... As an anime only watcher, my interpretation is that he was purposely containing his feelings because he knew that Frieren wouldn't be able to deal with the emotions and the sheer weight of seeing her loved one part and living for centuries after that. Frieren was also emotionally immature, so I believe that Himmel saw more value in making her experience the meaning of human life through her journey with him, than having a romance (which she was not capable of having).

Connor needs to play disillusion. We love it in Russia. It’s a jrpg type game. That you can’t “beat” for sure. There is so much information and it’s written just on some forums. Very deep, dark and interesting lore

I'm with the boys around minute 41:20 when they're talking about the spread of game guides and information versus the old days. There's definitely times where it can lessen the enjoyment of a game, and it takes more of a dedicated effort to avoid looking things up. It does make me grateful I'm not on social media for a lot of similar things, like a show being ruined for you by memes, etc.

1:20:07 As a tall person, I have to agree with Conner on this take. Sometimes when I'm in my house, if I don't wear socks, my feet feel like I just shoved them in a cooler full of ice. Hell, sometimes even WITH socks on they feel that way. Turning the heat up doesn't work for me because that just makes the rest of my body too warm. So just wear some socks and problem solved. Feet not too cold, body not too warm.

OMG Metal Slug, I played that too on vacation in France. Metal Slug 2 to be precise, still my favorite one. I came across it not too long ago in an American game store and I could still finish the first four levels or so on one credit.

So, you purchased a trip, which is not cheap, and decided not to investigate what you want there? Unless you plan, at least generally, you're not getting everything you can get or off your vacations. No matter what you want or of your trip, be it museums, sites, shops, or food, you're just punishing yourself by going without plan. Unless you'll be there chilling for a year or two, and you have all the money you've ever wanted.
