Hey when replacing the turbo do i have to replace the entire manifold as well or can i just buy the turbo itself?

Hello, Have issues getting the turbo to lineup with the exhaust support bracket. The bracket hole is 1/8 in. to high when I attach the exhaust to the block. Fortunately, you guys videotaped what the block looks like when the exhaust/turbo is removed. Looks like I installed the 2 support bars that go under the manifold upside down. I guess this may cause the exhaust support bracket not to line up. Thanks.

First your video is awesome! I'm actually getting ready to put new turbo on mine 2008 a4 2.0 turbo, Question down pipe off turbo was that the original converter or did you have that changed out,because mine is factory converter with the o2 sensors,and if you changed it did that help the car perform. My turbo is cracked on inside and been driving without any boost easy daily,but I feel like something caused it to Crack like maybe catilac converter clogged not sure just don't seem like enough exhaust coming out. Any how as far as oil I am haven same issue oil disappearing besides small leaks,what did you find out about all the oil in the cooler? What was the issue? Anything helps I appreciate your video keep it going!

I didn't buy that special socket I got mine with an allen wrench

The turbo had so much oil because the seals in the turbo were bad. It's part of the turbo failure. The intercoolers should be cleaned and blown out. Also there MAF and MAP sensors should be cleaned as well as they will have oil on them as well. If you haven't changed the PCV now a good time as it will have oil in it as well.

You got one pressure line one return to the oil pan then you got to cooling lines and then you got to that run to your valve cover that suck the pressure out of your engine so you don't cavitate

Omg ive searched SO MUCH for some People taking out the turbo and manifold of there! Am dealing with the same shit right now with taking it out and i have to install to New studs for the metall plate nearest the front that holds up the manifold level, cause one was broken there and one was missing! 😑 And i now see the fuckin truth that i have to take the hole shit out to install the metall plates before the manifold and turbo as i see you guys left on the engine. Would you care to know why there was oil in your innercooler? It’s pretty obvious if you think about it. Your turbo seals were going bad which is probably the reason you replaced the turbo in the first place right? It was leaking past the seals and going into your charge piping. And that was technically not that much oil that you had in there. I’ve seen much worse from 18 years of working on cars & the exhaust leak component you didn’t know the word to is called a flexplate. I stopped watching after that
