Today we will learn how to make bakery style paper wrapped cake. What is a paper wrapped sponge cake? It is a Chinese sponge cake wrapped in paper!
Paper wrapped sponge cake is one of the items you can find at asian bakeries. Chiffon cake baked in a paper cup are very popular like the egg tart and pineapple buns. These paper wrapped sponge cake were always my favorite pastry item. These cakes don’t contain any leavening. The beaten egg acts as leavening for the chinese sponge cake. Paper wrapped cakes have an eggy flavor and are medium sweet. They are super fluffy, soft and light.

Paper wrapped sponge cake is one of papa bear’s favorite!!🤩🤩 Yours came out so spongy and soft!! I used to buy them in bakeries and not every one of them look fluffy like yours! I will try this recipe for sure! 🤗 Btw that egg yolk separator is so cute!!😆😍

The cupcakes look really soft. The soft shape stimulates my appetite. I think it's a cake that you can enjoy anytime because it has a clean and soft taste. It would go well with both coffee and milk.

This is our favorite cupcake from the Chinese bakery. I've been looking for these molds everywhere without much luck 😢 so I use mugs instead, they don't look as pretty as yours. These turned out so fluffy, love the texture. OMG, the time lapse turned out perfect! Hopefully I can find these molds in Chinatown soon so I can replicate this recipe 💃💃👍😍

They do sink a little bit, but shouldn’t too much. If they sink a lot you under whipped the egg whites. 😊

I made these and mines deflated after I took it out of the oven. I also felt they were quite dense 😕

You might have over mixed the batter which causes it to deflate and become dense.😅

I have never seen these cakes 🧁 i just want to mkae em my self and taste them But my country is going through a hard time no electricity,gas to cook ,medicine,and writing paper and petroleum everything is getting expensive by the second we have to use our remaining food carefully
