Bardock is my favorite character now. He exhibits Vegeta's ruthlessness and maintains Kakarot's heart and nobility.

He had a power level of 10k before his mission and then he almost died and came back so with the sayian boost he was probably the strongest sayian at the moment

His power level was said to be 10,000. Which would make him tied for the 2nd strongest saiyan at the time with baby Broly. He got that strong by constantly putting his life on the line while king Vegeta was likely just naturally that strong and the Saiyans didn't really have a culture of training to be stronger like Goku did. They had a war culture and passively attained strength through that. That was the difference that led Goku to being one of the strongest. He just had a different mentality towards achieving strength and always learned from others to get new perspective and learn a new means towards attaining strength.

The fact Bardock survived an encounter with Dodoria is enough to place him way above the average Saiyan and especially a low class warrior. Especially since Dodoria is stronger than Base Saiyan Saga Vegeta who is more powerful than King Vegeta base to base.

Ever since i saw the kakarot dlc with bardock,my headcannon was that he grew to 20,000 since in there he was able to fight somewhat on par with dodoria who has a 22k power level.

He had previous Zenkai boosts, plus adrenaline rush goes a long way. That's probably why he lasted as long as he did with the soldiers. He's still a badass though, I wish they'd bring him back

He was not stronger then we thought. We all thought he had a powerlevel of 10k which is what he had when he fought Frieza and died. And the reason he had a powerlevel which at that time was considered high for a low-class warrior was because he returned half dead from every mission giving him zenkai boost after zenkai boost increasing his powerlevel quickly.

1 point ill like to note here is when bardock had a surge of power when he charged friezas men despite being heavily injured that is adderline kicking in along with him forcing himself mentally to keep going ull be surprised what u can do when u know ur about to die and u have to fight for a chance of survival regardless of how slim it is.

Its called Zenkai boosts dude, a saiyans strength as it its keep right after recovering from a mortal wound remember it was a 4 day flught from planet kanasa to planet vegeta, while he didnt fully recover he had 4 days ro recover from his injuries. All Saiyan space pods were equiped with life supprt a technology that can heal injuries. It was stated before he went to kanasa his power was close to King Vegeta's He had 2 Zenkai boosts before he engaged Frieza on planet Vegeta so ya of course he was stronger than most ppl assumed. Also ppl just underestimate Bardock remember Kakarot was "his" offspring his ability to adapt and even learn new techniques he inherited from Bardock, and even though Bardock was considered a lower class saiyan he was a very adaptive and smart soldier.

Im the manga, he fights one of the Heeters, Gas and shows signs of Ultra Instinct Sign, oddly enough. This is what leads goku to gaining bacc sone of his memories of his father after looking into the scouter. For what its worth, Bardock never changed. Toriyama sensei just filled in the spots of a conflicted father and warrior. And i think it played out very well.

It's worth noting one of the running themes in Dragon Ball Z is how you don't actually know your opponent's power level by scouters or even by sensing their energy, so rankings mean nothing

Bardock's normal power level after planet kanasa was at 10,000 but then he probably gained a giant rage boost that made him powerful before flying into space and let me tell you, bardock could've turned super saiyan and unlocked a greater rage boost which would increase his power even more than just that "500,000" he would've been around 800,000 or more 10,000,000 if bardock was raging even further let me tell you, rage boosts are the thing that makes you strong, the form makes you strong but not busted compared to a form along with a rage boost.

Ok lets face it, Bardock had some crazy potential, not as much as Broly or Gohan but a good bit.

Bardock is my third favorite character. My only problem is is that I wish that he stayed on planet meat no pun intended and he would fight another day instead of going back to planet Vegeta

So, kid vegeta had a power level of about 12,000 at that time. King Vegeta's power level was never hinted at but we can assume he is tad bit weaker than his son, so we'll put him at 11,000. Bardock was confirmed to have a power level of 10,000 pre kanassa. So thats puts the top 4 saiyans in this time period as: 1. Broly obviously, 2. Prince Vegeta, 3. King Vegeta, and 4. Bardock. We can assume that the elite saiyan warriors were roughly around a power level of 4000 - 6000. This tier includes Nappa and Tora. As even though Tora was not an elite warrior in status, he still had power that could rival elites like Nappa. So the gap between the top 4 and all other Saiyans was quite substantial.

the only problem with all of this is that none of this is canon. the only canon on bardock is dragon ball minus and the dragon ball super manga backstory. bardock father of goku special is non-canon/filler

None of the soldiers that attacked Bardock in space were elite. They were 1200-1500 fodders at best.

If only there was a chapter even non cannon idec of using the Dragon Balls to revive Bardock and try to have Goku train his own father to become strong and to stop thinking like a normal saiyan, similar to trying to get Vegeta to not be as evil. 😂

I know it was told he was 10,000 BP but I call bullshit. I would say after Kanessa he was 15,000 from the ZB. As a power scaler I give my own numbers most of the time. He can't be over 20,000 because he was defeated by Dodoria. Anyway I still appreciate his strength and toughness. I love Z Burdock only. F DBS Burdock they destroyed him.

DBS Broly destroyed this version of Bardock and made him non canon, it baffles me people hold that movie in such high regard.

Bardock was stronger than king Vegeta because of the battle experience he had and that king Vegeta was killed by a single punch by Frieza and Bardock as you mentioned was able to stay alive momentarily when the super nova hit him
