Күн бұрынWhat a great day we had with MALAYSIA TOURISM!
They organized a day trip around Kota Bharu to show us what Kelantan is all about. Kelantan is the centre of the Malay culture. From batik making, to wau bulan kite making, to pencak silat... you can find rich Malay arts and culture in Kelantan.
We started our trip in Kota Bharu where we enjoyed some traditional Kelantanese breakfast such as nasi tumpang, nasi dagang, nasi impit, and some Malay traditional kuih. After having our breakfast at Ayang Cafe, we head to a Keropok Lekor Factory at Koropok Cap Kapal. And then we visited Pantai Kundur which had several spots to see: a WW2 British Pillbox, Nami Island, and a Batik Making Factory. That's where we also stumbled a Malay Traditional Wedding Ceremony. It was nice road tripping across this area in Kelantan as we can see the simple kampung (village) life. Malaysia Tourism also brought us to a beautiful sand hill area at Pantai Mek Mas (Golden Lady Beach) and Pasir Belanda Resort.
We had fun touring Kelantan, visiting its top attractions and must visit places in Kelantan and Malaysia. We hope you enjoy "travelling with us".

Malaysians, please stop commenting on Steve's Bahasa pronunciation! He's trying his best. It's not easy as some of the syllables, that's how they sound in English language. It's the slang, the accent that made it interesting. It's him, it's Steve. Just like how you guys speak English with Bahasa accent. You're doing great Steve. OMG...watching this vlog makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because of the content and sad because i am now in Finland..so far away from home town Kelantan. The batik making place is only about 500 meters from my parents house and the keropok lekor Cap Kapal factory owner is in fact my late father's cousin. Thanks for such a beautiful video guys.

Didn't know that Kelantan is very enchanting. I guess the state is too underrated in terms of food and tourist attractions. The only thing I know about Kelantan is the Wau Bulan used as logo for Malaysia Airlines. Btw, this is one of your best videos by far!

yeap. love the designs and the color choise too. fluid brush stroke. even though their workshop environment doesn't reflect the nature of business but owh my their artworks! one of a kind. seeing their work, i would imagine they're all done within a breezy and thick tropical garden but no! these are bunch of talented people.

Hey Steve n Ivana, I heard of the Belanda Resort but never been there. I saw the owner before but they had since left for their home country. The Dutch couple are very tall! 6ft plus. And my daughter met their son at the same college in KL. He could even speak good kelantanese. Small world, and then my friend in KL met this Dutch couple before they left for Netherland. The drone is fantastic, such scenic view . So glad you saw a lot today. It's always best to have Tourism Malaysia to arrange these interesting visits for you. Very good vdeo! Ok , this is by far my fav vid, truly Kelantan experience. Now, go have that nasi berlauk for breakfast. If u love nasi dagang Kelantan, you gonna love nasi berlauk too. This is how Kelantanese roll in the morning, have nasi berlauk, dagang , pulut pagi etc for breakfast . And dont leave Kelantan before u hit the Dikir Barat show (not sure they are one given covid). Another unique Kelantan experience.

Great job Tourism Malaysia for providing a killer itinerary. My town is weird, most follow the rules of RMCO maybe too much 😂. Weddings over here even in kampungs have temperature check, a book to write down particulars and some even have QR code to scan. Some places have tables with socially distanced chairs. And some don't even provide table, only chairs that are spread apart. Food is pre packed so that guests won't stay long. Watching your video and seeing the almost normal wedding really made me quite envious. But then again, RM1k is too much to pay for breaking the rules.

There is one bunker in my Kampung at Perupok, Bachok, Kelantan but it already buried under the sea... when I was small its already half buried and we used to climb on it

OMG Ketupat Sotong Kelantan! My ultimate favourite Kelantan dessert! After having the Kelantan Style Nasi Dagang (with red rice), the ketupat is the ultimate closure. Sooo full, and serious calory count. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Haven’t had ketupat sotong for awhile so yeah, really missing that dish

actually there's someone already provide the rental service for the surfing board for if I'm not mistake RM3 for 30 minutes but the surfing board only for kids

As a kid, I used to learn to make my own wau bulan, kelantanese kite, from a local artisan in Kota Bharu.

Steve/Ivana, that WW2 bunker n pantai kundur is very close to my late grandfather’s village. When I was a little kid, my paternal relatives used to go camping there.. was one of my best childhood memories... btw, if I were in Kota bharu now, I would have brought you to my dad’s durian orchard nearby pantai kundur.. anyway.. glad to see you both had a good time there in Kelantan.

You can do the batik painting at Handicraft Village, there is a batik shop and cost RM10 a piece, great experience.

Yes, you can choose the pre-drawn (with wax) patterns from the shop and paint the colors yourself, they will frame it for you after you done the painting, enjoy.
