Notice the characteristic collapsing of rule of law ( including natural justice, onus of proof, and rights of the accused ) . Also watch out for the proposed " solution " for this engineered problem. Spoiler : it's a type of ( diabolical , inverted ) theocracy we aren't allowed to name , and those ultimately behind all this engineered and systemic race baiting, and this collapse of civil rights have planned their supremecist "rescue " or solution all along.

I may be wrong but I think Benjamin would actually be disappointed by that comment. If you think this is just an anti SJW video series, then you’re completely missing the point and only seeing what you want to see in the videos. I think to some extent Ben would consider himself an advocate of social justice, he just doesn’t agree with the protestors and how they went about their “movement”. @@JadeoftheGlade It wasn't a pocket, I agree. I saw this too, in a fairly peaceful, insulated university in a conservative area before 2008. It was mostly reserved to universities at that time, but I for sure felt the pressure and suppression on things like expressing ideas or opinions long before the Evergreen Explosion. It was a HUGE risk to grades and reputation to even question or dispute certain subjects, and I experienced shunning in classrooms very regularly when it was found I liked to question CRT, Marxism, etc or refused to use the arrogant jargon of the enlightened activists. This has been growing a very long time and the only thing that kept it from exploding earlier was the remnants of authentically liberal, open-minded, and mythic-classically educated, yet assertive professors and administration that held it at bay, knowing that once they were gone things would get very tough. I was warned by one very old professor it could get very serious and be a repeat of some very bad history later in life. People think Jordan Peterson is something, he's only half of what the ancient professors I had were, and I got a bit of that nearly extinct good old wizard-style teaching before it left.....and they didn't like what they saw coming.

This series of videos has turned into quite an accomplishment. I can’t be the only Evergreen alum who’s grateful for all of this amazing work. I would never have guessed, when the Evergreen campus insanity first unfolded, that it was a preview of what the entire western world would be experiencing for years (decades?) to come. There’s now essentially a consensus among reporters, educators, “centrist” politicians and middle managers that the worldview of Naima Lowe is correct in every way. In 2021, a person nearly anywhere in the US or Canada can be shamed and fired for expressing the view that nobody is genetically guilty, genetically “fragile,” or genetically “violent.” It’s an absurd and ugly situation we’re in. PS: When these videos first started appearing, I’d always see dozens of comments from people bragging that they would “never hire an Evergreen graduate,” etc., etc. The reality is that for decades Evergreen attracted an interesting mix of students (including ecologists, authors like Dana Spiotta, artists like Matt Groening and Carrie Brownstein, and a fair number of semi-literate hippies and lunatic-fringe political zealots). It ended up being the place where a lot of working-class and lower-middle-class kids from the region studied, both because of the freedom the school offered and because it was an affordable public option. Benjamin is not the only intelligent and reflective person who went to Evergreen... and as we’ve seen, what happened at Evergreen can happen almost anywhere: from Yale to the U.S. military to the offices of Twitter and Facebook to city and state governments from Austin to Toronto. Evergreen students are disproportionately lower-middle-class, and are admittedly a weird bunch, but they’re not uniquely deficient as human beings.

They want revenge. They want to create a sub strata of society where white people are literally sent to the back of the bus. But the whole ideology is built on a house of cards so it can never actually work. If you were to literally institute some sort of restorative justice where white people have to subjugate themselves to POC it would quickly devolve into colorism. How are we going to define who is actually a POC? DNA test? Papers? Or just strictly paper bag colorism? Or would you have demonstrate loyalty to the party and that would be your de facto permission to speak? It can’t actually go anywhere good, it would end is chaos almost immediately.

The power to dictate - the monopolisation of discourse to establish and manage the agenda, policies, rules, law, etc. as they see fit in a self-serving way. If you notice the word 'listen' features prominently. 'I hear you but I disagree' is unacceptable. 'Listen' in their context means obedience, as when an exasperated parents shouts at his/her disobedient child 'Why don't you listen to me?!' and then punishes the naughty one. These activists expect to go unchallenged. Look at their behaviour when they meet resistance - it's unhinged. Some are genuinely unstable. Others use the performance as extortion. "The racial status quo is comfortable for most whites. Therefore anything that maintains white comfort is suspect." That doesn't follow, among other reasons because many things that don't have anything to do with racism might maintain white comfort. Like sofas. Are they suspect?
@Asptuber
@Asptuber 3 жыл бұрын
Sofas are VERY suspect. Sofas are very deeply rooted in imperialism. You can go all the way back to ancient Greece. The oppressor class dined reclining on the fore runner of the modern Sofa. The Sofa centers the individual and degrades the communal experience. In the modern version the Sofa is a false representation of equality, a ruler's throne masquerading as shareable space. We can draw a direct line through Roman and British imperialism: the furniture of the conquerors uphold the demarcation between the space of "civilised" imperialists and subjugated "natives". These objects of comfort are pernicious in their spreading of white, imperialist hegemony. As groups of POC adopt them they also adopt a colonialist attitude that other their own roots and past suffering. In this way Sofas contribute to amnesia and the false consciousness of liberalism. 3000 years after the Greeks Ikea is still spreading western colonialist ideas of furniture and hereby wiping out indigenous cultures. These pernicious objects of white supremacy MUST be critically observed and their meaning deconstructed. And that was just the cultural problem of Sofas. Do you want to know about the horrendous medical harm resulting from Sofas? Also suspect, and for the same reasons: indoor plumbing, flushing toilets.

The only thing the liberal arts effectively teach is how to write a paper. It’s the only thing my elite east coast liberal arts education prepared me for job wise so its no wonder I worked as a hired gun for bestessays dot com before I worked privately for rich Asians coming to the US for college. At the end of the day higher education most effectively functions as a way to meet a potential spouse. Using it for anything further than that is insane.

Watched it again. Very, very well done, Benjamin. Congratulations. I remember the events at Evergreen very well, as I followed every inexplicably crazy action. From students who were so touchy I couldn’t fathom it, to professors who were openly racist and more than eager to allow any ridiculous suggestion from a student. I swear it felt like the college version of Lord Of The Flies for a second. I had forgotten how much I truly detest George Bridges. Listening to him speak actually makes my skin crawl. I don’t say that lightly, as I generally like everybody, or at least, I don’t actively dislike them. George is an exception. I can’t abide a liar, much less one who is in charge of young peoples educations. He really and truly is a snake. I expect things are as bad there now as before, though I hope I’m wrong. I was praying that admissions would continue to fall until no one went there. Bret and his wife got out of there in the nick of time. Everything happens for a reason. The concept of equity is relevant to a contract and for students who pay fees to attend school. The issue of equity is whether the school meets its contractual liabilities. If the school only promises exposure to a curriculum then the student's expectation of self-improvement is unfounded as their liability in such a contract is both to pay fees and to make use of the curriculum. However, if the school promises improvement upon exposure to a curriculum, then the student's liability is only to pay fees, the school has the liability for the exposure causing the improvement in the student. Consider the purchase of an article of clothing. The clothing can only provide a benefit, i.e. improvement in appearance if the purchaser wears it. No shop, in their right mind, promises that the purchase of the clothing makes the purchaser's appearance improve. A shop that makes such a promise might find itself in trouble for making such a promise, i.e. to look better, you only have to wear the article of clothing. Consider a purchaser who buys an article of clothing that is sized too small with an expectation that they will possess the body size for the clothing from purchasing the article of clothing. Who is wrong? The purchaser with that unreasonable expectation or the shop that made use of that unreasonable expectation to market and sell clothes? In this instance, the question of equity will arise. Who has to be recompensed? Essentially you have the shop claiming the clothing doesn't fit because it's society's fault for instituting clothing sizes. However, they relied on this expectation to sell the clothing in the first place. Same as Evergreen, they promised education to their students in return for fees and then taught their students that such an education is institutionalized racism.

That interview with the punk-chick who talks about wanting to 'weed out' anyone she identifies as an ideological or racial threat; that is the most disturbing Evergreen interview. Her philosophy has been at the heart of some of the worst dictatorships, regimes and empires in history. It has been the cause of numerous horrors - great and small - that have been seen over the centuries, across the world. The Stasi, KGB and Khmer Rouge would love her. She scares me, because I have encountered people just like her when I was studying recently. They dress and dole themselves up like hipsters/counter-culture, sound all progressive and 'woke' - but they behave just like the ideologues or secret police of a totalitarian state.
