Best Air Purifiers for Wildfire Smoke
Update: Unfortunately, it appears the Aeris Product line is not available anymore in NA or EU. It seems to currently only be available in Japan. IDK, what iRobot is doing with the Aeris product line but it STINKS!!! I'll provide updates when they become available.
IQAir HealthPro Plus on Amazon: amzn.to/3NIJ6Uq
AirPura V700: www.airpura.com/products/v700...
Austin Air: amzn.to/3PFZYOp
Coway 400: amzn.to/3O3DHsF
Here are the 5 best air purifiers for wildfire smoke that I have experience. This list of solutions is in descending order of effectiveness - yes, that means #1 is the best.
There is a Tie at #4 with 2 solutions.
#4 The Austin Air Healthmate Plus. American-made solution - been on the market for over 20 years. I’ve had 2 Austin air Healthmates running in my home for over 15 years 247 with over 138,000 hours of work on their motors - which is amazing. They make Steel Units with steel from American Steel companies, no less.
Tied for #4 is the…
#4. The Coway 300 or 400: This is a Korean-made solution that has been on the market for over 10 years and I’ve had a lot of happy customers use the Coway 300 and 400 over time.
#3 The AirPura V700 - This is a Canadian manufacturer and I’ve made many customers happy through the years with Airpua solutions. They’ve been around for about 20 years and I consider them to be the best carbon experts that I’ve seen in the entire air purification industry. Like Austin Air - they also make a steel unit.
#2 The IQAir Healthpro Plus: This solution is manufactured in Switzerland and actually filters even better than HEPA which enables it to provide world-class filtration for particulates. This solution has been around for over 20 years and I’ve sold a couple thousand of these units through the years and I’ve used one for over 10 years and I have one in my home currently, as well. Great product.
And the current #1 best air purification solution for wildfires is…
#1 The Aeris 3 in 1 Pro… This solution is also manufactured in Switzerland and Aeris has been around for 8 years. The CEO and founder is Pierre Bi and he has a Master's Degree in Engineering from MIT - and the 3 in 1 also filters better than HEPA - it has Elite particulate filtering capabilities + it has a very strong fan to provide a lot of air exchanges. I also own one of these solutions in my home, as well. I deserve the best, right?
So there ya have it - the top 5 air purification solutions for Wildfire smoke. You can watch in-depth, product reviews of the 2 best solutions - the IQAir Healthpro Plus here, in this video.. and the Aeris 3 in 1 here, in this video. Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with. Thank you so much and have a great day.

Hello - really find all your videos super informative. Do you have any thoughts on the IQAir Atem X. My kids suffer from severe pollen and dust allergies so looking to get something immediately to help them
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. I think the Atem X is somewhat of an amazing engineering achievement to a large degree - the way they created it... however, the IQAir HealthPro Plus filters the most dangerous ultrafine particles better than the newer Atem X. The Atem X will cover more space and provide more air exchanges but I think, I currently prefer the original IQAir HealthPro Plus for ultrafine particle filtration, in general. Here is a link to my new rankings of air purifiers for dust/allergies, etc. for Smaller spaces and Larger ones, as well: airpurificationeducation.com/asthma-allergies-and-dust-particulates-in-general/ Please, let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!👍

@@AirPurificationEducation thanks for the super quick response . Do you still recommend getting the Ares 3 in 1 even though it’s discontinued in the US . I know a few online sites that still sells them Thanks

@@firdosht Yeah, I am not sure... as I am worried about the future of the product line. iRobot was going to replace the Aeris 3 in 1 with the Klaara P7 and the new unit is supposed to come with an H14 filter upgrade over the original H13 that the 3 in 1 typically comes with. But the original founders are not in the company anymore (they've both started their own startups) and some are speculating that iRobot will not be able to replicate the superior engineering that made the Aeris product line so great. Also... now, the units are going to be made in China instead of Switzerland... and we don't even know what the new CEO of iRobot will do with the product line. So, if someone gets a 3 in 1 unit today - they will probably get a unit that was made in Switzerland (I am guessing) but the future filter replacements are going to come from China - so, do I believe they will be able to filter as well as the original units with the 2 brilliant engineers at the helm? I do not know... Plus, the new CEO will be under a lot of pressure to make iRobot profitable again... as they lost money the past 2 years... and the Aeris product line is NOT their core foundational offering... the new CEO will be trying to figure out how to make the vacuums successful in the market (as those are their bread and butter solutions) and I fear the Aeris product line will be viewed as somewhat of a "2nd rate hindrance" to their overall profitability... as they will probably be focusing on those vacuums 100% (like they are right now)... And if they did decide to manufacture and sell the Klaara P7 en masse... would they go through the rigors of EN1822 testing again to prove the new/"improved" units filter at least was well as the original 3 in 1? I'm not so sure as Time is not their friend... I think they'd just be like, "here is your robotic vacuum and here's your air purifier and an app. which makes the two talk to each other." And they wouldn't really go through all the trouble of testing the filters/units again... but IDK. The original owners had a lot of pride in the performance of their solutions but iRobot is a public company whose #1 priority is probably to raise it's stock prices to a large degree.... and the painstaking obsession to manufacture a "best in class" air purification filtration solution would probably be lost on the new management team, I think. So, I do fear of a drop in elite performance - but we'll have to see. Also, IMO - my Aeris 3 in 1 carbon was not doing a good job on odors after about 4 to 5 months or running continuously - they only have about 2 lbs. of carbon in the unit... so, I think the IQAir HPP's carbon probably lasts longer... So, all in all, I think the HPP is currently a much safer purchase but I know it is much more expensive as folks can get a good deal on an Aeris today, I think... Also, I think the Airpura R414 and R400 units are very good options for 500 sq. ft. and less, as well. So, I think there is a lot to think about... and I cannot really tell you what you "should' do... I can only state some opinions and some of my concerns - thanks!

How does the EnviroKlenz measure up (especially against the Austin Air Healthmate Pro filter)? Thanks
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation Жыл бұрын
I sold a bunch of EnviroKlenz - and the vast majority went to educational institutions in the past (very few residential people). I get the impression they purchased them mostly for the UV variable and viruses. I think it is a decent air purifier but I'm not currently a big fan of UV and definitely sold many more Austin units, in general. I have 3 Austins in my home - 2 Healthmates and 1 Jr. and my 2 Healthmates have run 247 for 16+ years and have over 138,000 hours of runtime on their motors (which is AMAZING!!!). Plus, I initially purchased my 1st Austin Healthmate due to me gagging from dust coming from my vents years ago and the Austin solved my problem IMMEDIATELY. I super-sized it for my room - which I knew would provide me with extra air exchanges. Plus, I've had many people through the years tell me how the Austin units have helped them in their environments but I've never had an Enviroklenz customer provide any similar feedback. So, I don't know why you specifically want an air purifier (your current needs) but as you can tell - I'm currently gonna choose Austin over Enviroklenz from my personal experience. Here is a video of me reviewing the Austin Air Healthmate, in-depth, if you are interested: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/as6gfcV2x8DZcqs.html Thank you and Good Luck!👍

@@AirPurificationEducation Thanks so much for your feed feedback. I'm looking for a good air purifier for mold, bacteria, etc. Also, some Enviroklenz's do not have the UV feature. Anyway, thanks again for your time, I appreciate it.

@@mbdurland4213 Hmmm... Mold and bacteria - I'm gonna go with IQAir or the Aeris 3 in 1 if I thought I had mold in my environment as they are the least likely to let any air 'escape around the filters' and I do believe they filter the best. I've dealt with many people through the years who became extremely sick from living with mold. So, when I hear someone say, "mold" I tend to immediately direct them to the 2 best solutions for particulates. I found a very common theme in many of the 'mold' customers through the years...- that exposure to mold oftentimes does NOT cause any immediate/current noticeable symptoms - even for many YEARS. But, then, years later, after people were living in a moldy environment - even if they had moved to a different state and residence... the mold inside of them somehow starts to cause various illnesses (in particular, MCS - Multiple Chemical Sensitivities). So, I am extremely wary of the mold environment. I'm gonna eventually make a quick video on this topic as many folks live with a "musty smell" in their homes for years but don't think it is hurting them... Yes, Enviroklenz has units without the UV but the vast majority of Enviroklenz units I saw purchased had UV as I think the educational institutions were basically 'told' it was good to have UV in their solution for viruses... so the UV version is the one they overwhelming purchased on a regular basis. Thank you and Good Luck!

Thank you dearly for the review. If I am to have wildfire smoke as my first complaint and then just a good purifier what would be the winner here. I can find things I like and dislike about each but the smoke every year just knocks me out. Oh portable would be great but not a must have . Thank you.

I know you said in the Austin air video that Austin air health mate isn't the best solution for smoke - do you have a different opinion when it comes to the Austin air healthmate plus?
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 9 ай бұрын
I generally have not recommended the Plus unit as I had heard a couple of folks through the years who said they smelled an odor coming from it after 6 - 12 months. Therefore, I, personally don't trust it but I think it must not be everyone who gets the odor so IDK what is up with that unit. Maybe the people smelling the odors were in humid environments - but IDK. So, I generally stay away from it but that's just my opinion. Thank you!👍

I just looked up the Aeris 3in1 and it can’t be shipped in California. I work from home so I’m looking for home air purification to be used in combination with house plants and a MERV 14 filter *EDIT!: looks like Amazon is carrying an older model that cannot be shipped to CA

Hello, Hmmm... won't ship to CA.? Interesting. I think the IQAir Healthpro Plus is a really great machine and one of the best mass produced air purifiers on the market. They have their US headquarters in CA. and they ship directly to customers. I've used one for over 10 years. It has elite particle filtering capabilities - esp. for the most dangerous Ultrafine particles. Here it is on the IQAir website if you want to check it out: www.iqair.com/us/air-purifiers/healthpro-series Thanks 4 the comment!👍

@@AirPurificationEducation It was a little confusing, the notice was on Amazon. However, it looks like it’s an older model that they’re carrying which doesn’t mean CA regulation. The CARB website has several Aeris models that are allowed in CA. The iRobot site says the Aeris 3in1 only cannot be shipped to NJ or DC. Thanks for the info!
