Good idea on exhaust. You may also try to make it a type of classic glass pack . 1, cut a length of light steel pipe to connect top of muffler to bottom exit inside and make angle slices in the pipe (lots) 2, fill around the pipe with stainless steel scrub pad for packing to act like glass pack. Worked for me, a little more powerful and a mellowed sound. May want to weld a bigger exit tip for better flow as well. Good work

Good thinking. I've since switched to a Mikuni VM18 carburetor. It sits tightly on a reed valve, though it was not without its frustration. Had to modify and change bushings in the carb just to keep it seated on the reed valve.

You would see substantial gains with a bigger carb and expansion chamber exhaust header! Cdi and head dont add that much if any.

Bro when you use the high performance exhaust the expansion chamber or whatever you were using with no baffle you cut the muffler off of the old stock ones and use that baffler

The arch style tensioners ( look like an alternator ) bracket are better than the spring tensioners for the following reason . With a spring style it wants to backlash upon deceleration forcing you to pull in the clutch every time you let off the throttle . There is no backlash with the arch style tensioner

I have one of those spring tensioners, and the first day, it worked great, nice tension, etc. next day, as soon as I release clutch to start, the chain binds, and tension now sucks. I doubt it happened overnight, so I just switched back to the stock one for now...

How strong is the tensioning force on the spring tensioner? Is there any chance I might throw the chain if I take my bike through anything somewhat bumpy or rough?
@BicycleMotorsports
@BicycleMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
Sirpotatoguy, you'll see the spring and wheel move a little as you throttle. It has a decent amount of tension and it your want more mention, just goto lowes or HD and purchase a thicker spring.. There's a chance anything could happen but I have yet to pop a chain. Check out my video on adjusting the chain before you install your tensioner. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b5uCf5WnrriYiI0.html Lastly, these chain are under alot of torque and they can break in some cases. The variable tension in these tensioners decreases the chances of chain breaking by alot.

hey these are really good tips! have you thought about adding a booster bottle to take care of the blowback?
@BicycleMotorsports
@BicycleMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
Ace Futura , I had a boost bottle on briefly for specifically that purpose. The motor ran very irratically and unfortunately was unable to tune properly. Also the added space in a boost bottle meant I had to choke the carburetor to create vacuum because the boost bottle decreased compression during start-up.

Do u have to break in before doing mods to engine?
@BicycleMotorsports
@BicycleMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
Tosh James, typically you dont have to wait out the break-in period to do mods. Any mod in particular you were thinking of?
@nickhersheys2706
@nickhersheys2706 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, General Rule: Run 4 tank (2 liter capacity) fills before making any mods. Hope that helps :)
@BicycleMotorsports
@BicycleMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
It would be fine to put on a better quality head, carburetor, and filter right from the beginning. Cheap, substandard parts dont make for a better breaking period. The one important thing to remember is to ride lightly during the first few tanks. Lastly, just refrain from porting and using a reed valve during the break in period as the speeds you'll be riding won't require it at that point in time.

Not a whole lot that I can think of being that the petcock has a it's own filter. if you can fit a filter in the space between your frame carb, then definitely do so.

Are these bike frames any good?
@BicycleMotorsports
@BicycleMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
James, these frames are great with one exception. The pedestal mount is almost guaranteed to sheer off from the vibrations. Fortunately, CDH Power (company that makes this particular frame) now manufactures and sells the same frame, with an updated/reinforced pedestal mount. I Just recently noticed that my pedestal mount has a crack that has developed about half way around the welds. I will be cutting it off and using ring mount.
@Growler_Guy
@Growler_Guy 6 жыл бұрын
Do you have a link for the CDH frame? I was also looking at these www.outlawmotorizedbicycles.com/products/zeda-angel-roller-v2-engine-ready-motorized-bicycle-built-in-gas-tank
@BicycleMotorsports
@BicycleMotorsports 6 жыл бұрын
James, if you look closely at the pedestal mount on the bike in the link you posted, you can that it is *not* reinforced. Check out this link at AMAZON (CDH Power Frame) and check out the photos of the pedestal mount. You can see to triangular pieces of aluminum welded laterally to the mount. CDHPOWER Reinforced Motorized Gas Bicycle Frame w/2.4L Gas Tank- Brushed Aluminum-gas motorized bicycle www.amazon.com/dp/B06XPDH53M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_54ItBb8QFDJAP Also check out the same frame on Ebay. m.ebay.com/itm/Reinforced-CDH-GT-A-Gas-Frame-w-fuel-tank-2-4L-White/192338071017?hash=item2cc83e0de9%3Ag%3AZmoAAOSwVtZaMHjI&_nkw=cdh+power+frame+&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=p2380057.m4084.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xcdh.TRS0 And check out this link for the complete bike on Bikeberry. Bikeberry sells the CDH Power Frame as their own brand called *'BBR Tuning'* (arrives in a CDH Power box) *NOTE* The Bikeberry photos still show the non reinforced mount. They may or may not be accurate. www.bikeberry.com/motorized-bicycles-diy/bbr-tuning-complete-motor-read-bicycle-white.html

James, Here is a link for the CDH Power complete motor ready bicycle on Amazon. The photos indicate that it does indeed have the reinforced mount. Also its $100 less expensive than bikeberry.
