I started my tennis elbow yesterday. I didn’t know I had tennis elbow but I woke up at midnight with a lot of pain. I started googling and realized it’s tennis elbow. All the medical websites said it would take 6 months to 2 years to heal. My heart was broken when I read this. Stumbled across this video and my pain is literally going away with these exercises. And I’m convinced this is the way to heal my elbow quicker than 6 months. I just have to keep at it. You have cured my broken heart. You guys are my hero’s! I couldn’t thank you guys enough!!! Thank you Bob & Brad!!! You saved me from having another surgery. 9 years ago I had surgery on my right arm for tennis elbow. That was after 1 year of therapy and steroid injections. Nothing worked but the surgery solved my problem. 4 months ago I could tell that the tendon in my left elbow was tearing. I tried numerous therapies that I found on KZfaq as well as anti-inflammatory medication and icing, but the pain in my elbow continued to worsen. When I would wake up in the morning the pain was especially bad. After watching this video, I tried using the elbow strap and the 2 exercises mentioned at 8:00 and then 8:26. Problem solved!! Finally!! I would do each exercise 3x a day for 10 repetitions each. For the exercise at 8:26 I would 10 reps with my wrist turned in, and 10 reps with my wrist turned out. I also did some cross-friction massage, but not as religiously as these exercises. It has taken about 4 weeks of doing these exercises and I have now begun to resume my prior activities, like lifting weights. I still wear the elbow brace when doing strenuous things like lifting furniture, heavy yard work, or when I lift weights. I hope people are able to have similar results.
@muchohandlesg21243 жыл бұрын
But does it solve the problem ?? I’ve been deali by with this for atleast a year and a half and I’m 18 and I wanna workout but I can’t this is super annoying I can bearly go asleep I don’t have allot of pain but it’s really irritating and it clicks every time I bend it on both elbows
@upsidedown14153 жыл бұрын
@@muchohandlesg2124 You have to take rest and commit to this for 4 weeks atleast. I know how annoying it is not being able to workout but you'll only make it worse, and make it chronic. Find alternate things in your workout that doesn't stress your elbow. I've had it for a year and I wish I'd taken proper care and rest when I first got it.

Please, did the surgery solved the Tennis Elbow problem 100% and forever? My doctor says that it's useless to do that surgery, because sooner or later, the Tennis Elbow issue will rise again, Did your surgery succeded to solve the pronlem forever? Thanks
@michaelbarry76952 жыл бұрын
@@greekveteran2715 Hello. Yes, I had my original surgery back in 2011 on my right elbow and I have never had tennis elbow problems with it again. So almost 11 years later and the elbow is fine. If the tendon is damaged enough I don't know if therapy alone can return a person's elbow to normalcy. Steroid injections I think are just a waste of time that delay the inevitable. From my perspective, if you catch the problem early enough and regularly do the PT then you can heal the tendon and avoid surgery. But if the tendon is significantly compromised then surgery is the answer. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Three days into using the techniques you guys demonstrated, there is a marked and noticable improvement in my condition. My tennis elbow was so extreme that in my sleep I would be startled awake by what felt like a knitting needle stabbing me in the elbow. Medical advice at the time was to rest the affected arm but we all know that is not always possible so I started to give some thought on how I could help myself. Looking back on activities that aggravated my injury it was obvious that pain developed whenever I worked an object with closed hand and cocked elbow so I thought I'd try exercises using movements opposite to those that created the injury. This involved fully extended my arm horizontally, bending my hand upward and spreading my fingers as wide as I could, then move my arm in small circular motions clockwise then anticlockwise or vice-versa. Circular sweeps and hand movements grow larger as pain decreases and flexibility returns to your limbs. Initially I would perform this action whenever I felt pain or discomfort and early on it was uncomfortable but over time it became a preventative routine and now I can declare my tennis elbow is no more than a bad memory.
@RebelRob344 жыл бұрын
Approx how long did it take to go away doing these?
@sportsfanivosevic98854 жыл бұрын
It's difficult for me to recall as my injury was 20 years ago and I was obviously younger then but in most cases the time to recovery will vary with the individual, frequency of the exercise and whether you can ease up on the actions that produced the problem. So to avoid misleading you, I would suggest trying the exercise for a month to see if you get any benefit.

Thank you! I am 61 and never had tennis elbow before. I cant believe how painful it can be. However your video provided a way to quickly soothe the pain. The exercise at about 8 minutes into the video really helped me. Thanks again.

It is now 4:02 AM in Alabama and I am in SO much pain from tennis elbow! Last time I went to an Orthopedic Dr., he gave me 5 steriod shots for it on the same day. I didn't sleep for a week. I am praying these tips will help me because I can't sleep for the awful pain. Thank you both!

I hope your elbow is doing better Tina! Was there a reason you didn't go to your doctor and ask for pain relief when it was this bad? Seems you might've needed it. Anyway though, I really hope your pain has diminished and you're doing better now!

I've had severe pain in my left elbow for 6 months. I was planning to get a doctor's appointment but the Pandemic put paid to that! The pain wakes me most nights and at times I've wished I could _cut my arm off_ -sounds stupid and irrational I know, but severe, constant, relentless pain drives you crazy. This video has some great tips, a couple have really helped me out. Question: After my arm is 'warned-up' during the day and the pain has decreased to a moderate level, when I move my arm it moves in a sort of *slow motion* Has anyone else experienced that?
@EvCurlGurl3 жыл бұрын
YESSSS! Everything you said (even wanting to cut my arm off) is exactly how I've felt for 4 months now.

You are the best! I had a nagging and excruciating pain in my wrist while turning door knobs and your technique of stretching the thumb ligament took it all away. Now I injured my elbow by slamming it into the joint and these exercises just made me feel better to begin with. God bless you immensely for your generosity and service to all.

As a child I badly dislocated my right arm. I'm now 50 and three years ago I got tennis elbow. I was instructed by my doctor to decrease activity and it would sort itself out over time. A year went by and it didn't get any better it got worse. I was sent for a steroid injection which alleviated the condition somewhat but only short term. Now my arm only has about 30 degrees of travel, I can no longer full extend or compress the arm. It is now stiff painful and inflamed all the time and my doctor doesn't seem to think there's anything that can be done and seems unconcerned. I am very concerned as it won't be long at this rate before it affects my ability to drive and work. My wrists and fingers also have pain and I cannot put even enough pressure on them to do a press up or get out of the bath. Pulling is not painful so pulling on a rope for example is fine regarding my wrist that is but my elbow is painful all the time no matter what.

Your doctor is simply a moron and you need a second opinion of one who will actually help you. It sounds like I'm trolling but I'm not. See another doctor.

Wish I knew you guys 30 years ago when I had tennis elbow and it hurt just to pick up a shaker of salt. But my then husband said he was sick to death of hearing me complain, so I had to suffer in silence after that. Time is what cured me but it took a good year.

This is my personal experience... things got only better when I started that sort of massage on my forearm... after that I started the other exercises that they suggest and, in less than a day I started to feel much much better... On the other hand, when I tried just exercises alone, my pain growth up a lot... so, try the massage thing and the forearm fall-off-exercise...

I've shitty forearms for some reason, which is a real problem in strength training. I think it has to do with my grip techniques or something. I always envy people with massive forearms, as they tend not to have those issues. What really helped me to get around most of the pain, without giving up heavy weight training, was to get straps. Any kind of pulling motion, can be done with the support of straps, be it a dead lift, lat pull down, you name it. They really helped me to get it down to a level, where it doesn't bother me.
