We are using Sonlight for the first time this year. We’ll be going rogue after we finish Sonlight B, because I don’t love all of the books they use, but I do like some of them. I bought many on Thriftbooks as well. We’re doing B&C this year, so we’re doing American history D next year. I bought many of the books I want to use for D. We’ll also be reading Rush Revere books (2nd & 3rd).

I 100% agree! We use their readers and read aloud, but don’t do all of the history nor Bible and other extras. Their language arts program is amazing, though. we have stuck with that for sure! Good luck going rogue!

My elementary started cursive in kindergarten(I was 1st grade when the program started) I was actually quite nice. program and how its applied is important.

@@chaoscoordinator566 I dont remember much from my childhood. I feel handwriting without tears it good I believe..I haven't been able to afford so we have no curriculum for handwriting yet..

Hi new subscriber! We will be doing stone fox this year as a read aloud. Im not familiar with most of those novels. Love how you incorporated your daughter, her faces were funny.

When do you fit in the poetry and picture studies?

Sonlight provides the schedule and even questions for the poetry books. For the picture studies, we do one artist every 7 weeks, one week to learn about him (included in the packet with the paintings) and rotate the paintings in a picture frame I have. The kids then “study” one painting a week (on MOndays usually) from that artist for 6 weeks.
