Everything I’ve heard about Boxabl sounds very positive EXCEPT the waiting list. The most recent videos I’ve watched says the list is 100,000 names long and the current production capacity of the new factory is ONE (1) unit per day. That would put person #100K due to receive theirs in about 237 years. Even if they ramp up production to five or ten per day, at 63 I would never live long enough to see it delivered!

I got this same survey emailed to me, Irina. As I mentioned in the comments of your other recent Boxabl video, the company now seems particularly proactive in keeping track of whoever comments on their KZfaq channel vids. Or, maybe they're finally going over email inquiries from months ago, as that's when I originally contacted them through their site (and I didn't get a reply at the time.) As with you, the idea of getting an empty unit for thousands of dollars less is the way I would also want to go. The appliances and countertops on the $49K Basics are OK, but nothing particularly special in themselves. Part of the fun, I think, is customizing the interior on your own and with your own furnishings. I think a lot of people are going to opt for these empty ones and that the 25' X 40' units they mention on their site as upcoming will be one of their more popular offerings for those looking for a small primary residence.

Boxabl2 - another 120,000 sq ft production building, has been completed right next to the original plant. They should have it equipped and outfitted for production by August, effectively doubling their space and output. Now to find and train quality workers.

I think/know that this is a absolute no brainer if one has the money/land. I love that this unit is airtight, water resistant, wind resistant and fire resistant. That is a huge savings financially! The upkeep should be pretty easy to maintain. No worries with termites either! Honestly there are so many positives that I’m super excited about this new way of housing. It’s so affordable if you’re in the market to buy a home. I do have a question? (In this latest Information update you just received) It ask if you’re interested in a RV type Casita on wheels… I checked YES! That for me, changes everything! Because I live in a HOA community where I can have a RV which I do. I have a new C Class RV. I can also have like a boat anything with wheels as long as I don’t “live in it” 👀 .. You could also use the empty Boxable to use as a garage. You would have to have a contractor install a garage door, but it is doable. I'm interested in making mine a permanent full-time residence. I would like to also install a wall inside the empty one and convert it to a mudroom/Laundry room/Storage. Thank you for this info. Though they claim on the website that the included kitchen includes the appliances... there is no exact mention of the brand, specifications or model numbers of said appliances. All their pictures and videos show stainless appliances and some with deluxe features like water/ice dispenser on their side-by-side or French door fridges which are already an upgrade. I see no basic models anywhere. Even to be a dispensing style fridge it would be minimum 30", but the videos show the range to be a compact 24" model which seemed to be a glass top induction or infrared stove. Both are already an upgrade. Even the combo washer/dryer is an upgrade as it would be cheaper to get a tower or stackable versions. Just pricing out from my local sources (HomeDepot) and chosing the most basic stainless steel models, I get a total cost of only $6195 CAD for a 30" Stainless Steel Amana Side-by-side fridge with water and ice dispenser. A Whirlpool 24" electric element or 30" induction (price difference was only $200), a standard 24" Whirlpool dishwasher (the compact 18" model actually costs $300 more), 24" microwave vent hood, single cell split ductless Air con unit and a combination Danby 2.7 cubic foot washer and dryer combo. Kitchen sink and faucet, Five foot shower stall, bathroom vanity and standard deep bowl toilet and basic cabinetry for kitchen and bathroom which came out to $6195 CAD. So why is theirs $10,000.... What name brands or specs are they using? Upgrading my choices to higher end models with more features and the price only bumped up to $8775 CAD. Even selecting the top of the line in each category for said amenities, I could only come up with a $16,835 CAD price tag ... so why the $50,000 price hike for their upgraded package. Even custom cabinetry for that size (400 SQ FT) would not come out to $50,000 extra... The real funny thing is their first conceptual model was based on a Chinese invention from 2006. A container home which both sides flipped up and a side floor and side wall unfolded. The front left and right faces and rear left and right faces folding out like a giant door from the center container box. Their whole box is metal frame, on metal studs on a metal frame. Their walls are sandwiched steel sheeting with 4" - 8" poly foam depending on what the customer orders. The Chinese version unfolded in 10 minutes with the help of a six man crew. Or a 2 man crew... 26 minutes. The current price of the Chinese version sold in Canada under the brand name CAEL is a mere $26,995 CAD as of 2022-01-01 for the base bare bones model or $32,000 CAD for included appliances and fixtures for kitchen and bathroom. But unlike the Casita, the CAEL version isn't limited to a boxy 20x20 space. The CAEL come standard as a 20ft long box by 20 ft wide. I didn't like the surprise, not by you but by Boxabl, of a fully furnished house that they showed on the website now costing $100k. The whole thing that turned me to them was that $50k got me everything they showed. No where did it say or elude to that the Casita would cost twice as much for a fully furnished unit. Now i go back to the drawing board to determine feasibility for me. That's too bad because i was super excited for them to the point i even told strangers about them.
