What I have learnt in life is to build very strong self esteem and don’t even think about entering a relationship until your have clear values and strong boundaries about what you want and never compromise those things. There are some very abusive people in this world and abuse can be so subtle. If you don’t have self esteem right now - you can build it. But never enter a relationship without feeling strong.

You can give a man everything he asked for as his needs. And it still won't work out. He can't meet your needs when he knows he doesn't deserve you. Because he doesn't really want you. If you try love a man who doesn't love himself and when he knows he doesn't deserve you, it also won't work out. See people for who they are, not what you want them to be. If he is a people pleaser, drinks heavily, has money, entertains, claims to love people so so much. Run. They usually have a handful of women on dial. You usually see the cracks early on. Stringy, they self loathe so you try to build them up. He isn't worthy of the building up because he needs to do that himself

Wendi J I see your point but I think that intent matters. If a man is holding a door in an attempt to show respect, that isn’t a bad thing, if she says hey I don’t need you to hold doors, instead do (whatever) I think most men with the intent of giving true respect would gladly switch to a different means of showing that respect. The assumption that he’s treating her like a gender and not a person is pretty cynical, they aren’t mind readers.

Im also into genderless roles yet call myself a gentlewoman that will equally open doors for men and women. Equally pay for them. Equally get them gifts inc flowers if they enjoy them. I will spoon into them etc... I'll enjoy them doing gentlemen things as long as i can equally be a gentlewoman and do them for them as well inc romancing them. Im a fan of it goes both ways equal effort. Doesnt have to be exact same things done for each other. Be yourself. But that things are equally done for each other. Equal energy exchange. Equal partners.

Gentleman rules were created by women. The man steps up like that bc it is the girl who expects to be treated like that. I am married to a man who is almost smitten with me, and I can agree with this. Even when he thinks and complains that I have been "disrespectful" (which is really just me responding to his random inconsiderate behavior) he still can't get enough of me (wanting to kiss, cuddle, know my feelings for him, etc). So, sadly this is true 😏

I'm at the beginning of a romantic relationship with a dear friend of many years. He wants to take things slow and I respect that. So he hasn't said, "I love you, Ariel." However, he has said to me and texted, "I appreciate you." So I have made a point to tell him *in writing* that I appreciate him, too. He also truly was my hero two years ago when he realized I was having a mental health crisis and because he is therapist in town, my case was taken seriously and he accompanied me to the ER. So was already going to commerotate his heroism!

He plans holidays for us. He doesn’t want me to fly economy and I respect that he wants to give me the best. He supports my goals and ideas. He respects when I say No about things that I believe it’s not for me or us. He loves to buy things for me more than I do to myself. He’s almost perfect. I am so thankful. 🙏

I can't feel loved without feeling respected first and I will always choose to be respected over being loved, because first I need to love and respect myself and I'm not doing that if I allow others to devalue me. I will give respect when I am receiving it, but I've stopped being a doormat who allows rude behavior. If they are not treating me respectfully then it's not and can never be loving. I'm over all these rules and mind fuckery! If it's love, if it's meant to be, then it will be natural and easy and people will just show up in the relationship for each other and will both want to be there. It should not be so hard and when one is acting like they no longer want to be there, then maybe it's time to just let them go. Relationships don't work on the power and desire of just one.

I recently heard a similar explanation of this concept. Yes the man is supposed to protect and love his wife significant other etc. and the woman is supposed to respect her man! However it is the man’s responsibility to love and protect first if he doesn’t love and protect The woman then she won’t respect him. And to my ladies it’s also believed that we are here to be POWERFUL!!💪💯

Respect is not the main component in a relationship (it's on of the men's needs but not the main one). Many women respect their men but get used and abused by men. Brian, you should look much deeper into this... its all about natural reflexes and hormones. Men have predominantly testosterone. They have needs to fight, chase, and have uncertainty. When woman acts as an open-book, showing constant interest, trying to please a man, it's turns men off. Why do you think men fell in love with women who are hard to get ?

Thank u Brian 4 some clarity. Don’t allow a man 2 b disrespectful nor dishonoring. We must value ourselves, know each of us is ENOUGH (check out Marisa Peers on this topic being enough), respectfully, calmly letting a man know his misbehavior or foul speech is not acceptable, while standing firm & fearless EVEN if he walks away. Too many have accepted abuse / crumbs, accepted being treated less than the Crown Jewels we r just 2 have a grown boy vs a grown man. Remember (not original 2 me) B - burden O - on Y - you vs M - meets A - ample ( I prefer 2 ‘All’) N - needs!

I am a well respected person in my community. Hold down a good job, have a business as well and have had a very good life not to mention I am abundant. I met a man 5 years ago and loved and respected him. I realized after a while that he was not a respectful person when I saw behavours from him when he took off his mask. I realized he came from a toxic dysfunctional family who knew no boundries when it came to drinking, sex, and social behavour. It was a free for all, anything goes and in the way for sex anyone would do. My life, my career, my love for him, my understanding pertaining to where he came from and anything good I brought to this relationship did not matter. He preferred to skip a movie to go out drinking with toxic friends and sleep with someone he did not know. He preferred to be unemployed and live of assistance even though there was nothing wrong with him. He preferred to fake depression, anxiety, etc. to get more and more money of the govt. to give him his lifestyle of drinking, and the free bad behavour that he showed on a daily basis. He lived with me for free and had all the benefits of whatever he wanted but put nothing into this connection. He did not respect himself or anyone in his life. We are not together any more but I do feel that instead of spending 5 years trying to help someone like I did I should have looked at his background and run for the hills. They are manipulators and squeeze everything out of people that they want without asking. Just talking about it and passing hints knowing fully well that if that person can afford it they will get it. That is what my person did.

Great video, thanks Brian! Accepting and respecting his masculinity (not “him” per se, or the broken behaviours sometimes exhibited-because all humans are broken in many different ways) brings out the best version of a man. This is the power that a feminine woman embodies; masculine women don’t understand it. A man will adore a truly feminine women; indeed, die for her. Not so with a masculine woman; she sees feminine and masculine as an issue of equality instead of opposites that magnetise. Obviously, she doesn’t need (or want) the protection, provision and nourishment that a good male offers, so she reaps what she’s sown into the world - women who act low value attract low value, then get pissed when the men they attract ACT low value.

What if you're naturally a sort of masculine woman? I'm an engineer and a tomboy. To men at work, I'm either not given respect or else I'm the competition. But I mostly attract men who are gentle, and I think that they feel respected because I value their interests and attitudes. Dating a woman who is competent and self-sufficient who prefers their style to the "Alpha" type makes them feel masculine and successful.
@gerberdaisy2388
@gerberdaisy2388 4 жыл бұрын
@@dbalgp1047 I believe reverse polarities are the same. If you are more comfortable living in your masculine energy and value being respected then that will totally work if you have a man who is strongly in his feminine and is happy to be receiving. It is the "beta" type you attract because you are in your boy energy. True masculine males won't regard you, or be attracted because you present incongruity: look like a girl behave like a boy (in simple terms). We all have testosterone and live in it from time to time. The men at your work, I'm guessing, aren't giving you respect because true masculine males know you are not a man and the bit of testosterone (masculine strength) that you are trying to live in (being equal to a man) ... well, that makes you competition: it is the nature of the hormone of testosterone. You cannot change it anymore than you can change the softness of femininity. As far as being competent and self-sufficient, I am both of those and live almost 90% of my life as a very feminine female. The polarity reversal works great as long as both partners stay in those energies.

When i read your comment, i get again and again confused. After 17 years i got really in love. Love at first sight. Affection at first sight. We both are 48. No more years to waste on idiot behaviors..., you woud think. From day 1, i was smitten. I wanted to know him better. Wel..., to make the story short. From day 2 i payed him drinks, food, brought food to his house, beer. He had only 300$ a month. The rest was keeping his lawer. I am on invalidity with 1 son (22 years) old. For this 2 months, i bought him food, cigarettes, drinks, drinks for home, my own food supply ( wich i saved for hard times), cooking gear for his little sailingboat, more food & drinks/food for his sailingboat, fuel gas for cooking 100$, fuel 90$, water, more boatstuff, shampoo, towels, medicine cabbinet, fire stopper. In total i spent in that month 700$. Then a walki talki for going to work in another boat (birthday present/90$). Gloves, sjawl, hats to work! A floor carpet for his boat (80$). Valentine present of a ticket online learning platform, so he could easyer learn the course, for having a diplom of boatsman (28$). He has a learn disability. But he is supper with boats and handy-guy with his hands. I bought him natural drugs to learn better (cod liver oil) 80$. Supported him! He can do it..., whatever time and effort it takes. Encouraging! I knew, water and boats are his LOVE! He was unemployed. Then he got a job-offer, to work on a boat. I said, great for you & an oportunity to climb and get out of your financial situation & you love boats! He did not wanted, but i told him the pro's & con's. I said, ' believe in you' and gave him kisses and sex and affection and i felt like a teenager in LOVE. I said..., the captain will hire you today..., i feld, that he has a great chance (because i am not blind😉). He was born for the water and boats and jumping like an ape. So cute and masculine to see. So easy for him. He got the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave money to buy food and drinks, cigarettes, beer, toiletpaper, for a week. He was a week away from home. This was a year his job. And i gave a lot of times money for what he needed and a little cash (i only have 1200$ invalidity, housing cost 550$, water, gas, electricity, internet, phone (350$). My mother gave me money to spend on me, and gave it away for my boyfriend, to overcome his life and feel better. Wel, i allways did, whenever he needed me, go with him...Even on the boat. Helping him restoring, his own boat. I was enjoying every minute with him and loving him more and more. I have chronic serious healthissues, for more then 35 years, from birth had allways something going on. Could not work. I know have the feeling, that there something else goin on with my body. When i did not see him, i was sleeping and a total mess and i was going downhill. He never wanted to know, what chronic issues i had, nor the reasons, why i go to a therapist for CPTSD, child abuse and abuse...I gave my soul, body, mind, heart and money to help him out. Support and motivating him... But he said nothing to ever show his concerns about what was going on with my life. After 2 months..., he said ' you do nothing for me'. He said this 2 times. Something broke in me. I was like going dead inside. 1,5 year giving, giving my all. No much effort on his side. Wanted more and more from me. Leave my son of 22 years old, who has aspergers syndrome, luving still home. He was enoyed about my dog too. He said i should put the stuff away of my house. I said, al the stuff in my house i keep, and that is the reason i can help you, if you need anything! My dog is the love of my life. My son, is the one i will never put aside for anyone, nor my beloved dog. When i had a problem or needed a shoulder to cry on, he said 'get over it' or BE A MAN. If he needed one, i was giving affection and a beer and be just near him and listen to him. Then he said one day... 'you son is a stupid moron'. My son is a sensitive, friendly, warm hearded young man, with asperger/ add/ ocd. My son was dog sitting for 1,5 years, everytime i went with my boyfriend. And beeing happy for me. He never saw me so happy and in love. But things changed, with the words of my boyfriend. He said, one day..it is gross to make love, when you bleed. He was horny like hell and did not mind at all. I was more shy! If i was not with you..., i was still allone. I want a virgin, because they are pure and i never had a virgin before. A man said to me i should commit suicide with my son. My boyfriend did not defended me at all. His friend said to me in the beginning, if i had had a cock in my ass. My boyfriend, who sat next to him, said nothing. After a while i realized, i do not matter, my life seems not worth to protect. I realized, i can adore, love, take care, show affection, lovemaking, money, help, care, support, respecting, needing him,... Giving, giving, giving, giving, giving, giving, and on and on... And it will never be enough, for a man to change and respecting you. He said after a few months, why do you not look at me with you eyes full of love? I thougt about all the loveless things and words. I thought, about in the past..., he dit not want me to buy a 1$ noodle dish!!! I thought about all i gave allready... I thought, about the day, that in daylight, some one wanted to abduct me with a van (i was luckilly smarter and lucky). When i opened the door to his house, i trembled and was agitated. He did look at me with a face and i thought..., is a human in the house??? For him everything i needed from him was incomprehensive. I lost hope. And decided, not to tell anything anymore. My eyes died more and more. How much does a woman need to give and show her love and care and whatever else, so a man feels save to give? I said, at the end, i am tired of your bullshit (not friendly and respectfull of me now! I know!) He said..., he bullshitted me all the time and he should of bullshitted me more😳 So, an invalid, sick mother if one. No family. From a different country. Allone since 17 years old. Abused. All her life, vigilant. A hell of a life. Read 1000...if books. Fights wirh doctors, men, women, insurances, hunger, cold, allways protecting herself and her son. No hope, no cure, no nothings, no friends...Could write a book! And after 17 years ckising my legs..., i open my heart, my legs, my savings, my energy of a dead one, my time, my love, affection, to an idiot. After u quit...He said, the sex was not good anyway. And other stupid stuff... I will never ever give a man, what he does not value. You can givegivegivegive to man, what you want and the respect what you want and your organs... How much proof, does a man need from a woman until she is giving a chance to receive whatever friendly that is? By the way... He made me coffee every time. I bought food and he cooked. Sometimes he was so affectionate... The little wonderfull good times... He was for me hot. He was my sexy water ape boat wolve mab. I wanted to grow old with him. Be there for him. Could not bare the idea, to lose him. Now, i am dead inside. My son, my dog, me... I needed HIM! Now, i know, i will live and die on my own. Bless you all.

I use some of those tricks to make my students do better. Especially the boys. Let me elaborate. For example, if a student fails for a little bit a test, I don't change the grade even if he begs me to death (girls usually don't do that) and I reply "it's up to you, prove me that you can do better" . That motivates them so much that they maintain good grades through out all the year. Of course I recognize when they have done well and give them a smile and a few nice words. It's just enough to get them going!

Every once in a while I compliment him for any sweet things he does, I respect his feelings not to make him insecure yet in the end when he does things that breaks my heart and when I share my feelings to him he becomes defensive n don’t own up to his wrong doings instead complaint abt it to his mom to settle the problem we had for he is a momma’s boy n can’t deal with his own problems to play the blame game just so he can escape the problem n left me. I was heart broken and I feel disrespected by him so much that he doesn’t value my decisions or advice nor solutions to any problem.... I feel he’s more reliant on his parents to make decisions for him like a child. We invested so many years into this relationship but now I feel like it was just a game for him.

This is easy! I've never had to "make sure" I'm stroking my sweetness (ego) because it's an been an AUTOMATIC reaction from my heart to him BECAUSE I love him and HE IS treating me right.

That happened often to me in previous relationships. I spent half an hour talking about my complex problems, and he "solved" the problems with one sentence. I got disappointed on him and I guess I didn't even want a solution, just someone to listen, so I could process it myself.
