That man didn't want that child no more than he wanted a broken leg. The only reason he wanted the kid was to torment the wife. In my opinion he got what he deserved he'd probably been mentaly abusing her for years. It takes a bit of pushing before somebody pushes back that hard.

He love bombed a teenage girl who had been kept in a strict Catholic boarding school. She had such a sheltered upbringing, she was easy prey for a man who had been twice engaged already. She got caught up in the fantasy that he actually loved her. Given the era, he would have felt that her money was rightfully his money. When he saw it wasn’t as easy as all that, he used the son against her.

My own conclusion is that she probably did have mental health issues which only grew more severe as she aged. Whether those issues served to absolve her of guilt or were truly the cause of her actions, we'll never know. Intresting case for sure. These two people were regarded as high status, probably looked up to, yet one was a greedy cheat whose life was cut short and the other was probably unhappy most of her life and in the end, lost the person she most loved, her son. Thank you Brief Case..

I played one of your playlists overnight. When I woke up, I just stayed in bed watching three of them before getting up, not even thinking about the fact it's Monday and there would be a new one. Of course, after feeding my dogs and cat, I found the new one. They sound like a couple made in hell. She feels entitled to get help and support but then turns her back on those same people when they need help. He marries her for her money and then puts her down, telling her she doesn't have enough. When she gets support, he lashes out and punishes one of those people by lying and getting him in trouble. Very tragic case all around.

What a great case to start the new year; I was enthralled! The narration and choice of photos and illustrations were impeccable. I definitely found myself hoping for her acquittal after I heard she was suffering severe hypothyroidism. I had to have my thyroid out, followed by a few years of trying to get the replacement meds right, going both severely high and severely low. The absolute worst symptom is the brain fog. You simply can't think properly; it is like trying to see or hear in a thick fog. I dont know that it should've actually gotten her acquitted, but I was very excited when it happened! What a sad case. Her son must've had some major PTSD after seeing what he saw at 4 years old, which I'm sure caused the strain in his relationship wyth his mother. It sounds very premeditated to me because she had the gun on her. How she wasn't found guilty I'll never know. She confessed, she went to De Saulles' house unprovoked, then shot him in front of her son and in front of other witnesses. Yes, DeSaullesb sounds life he was a bad husband, but that's no excuse for murder.

This brought to you by an individual LIVING with PTSS of Kaiser Adverse Childhood Experience or Kaiser ACE for short. The Defense team really did a good job. This diagnosis seemed legitimate, along with the reinforcement provided by her head injury and the fact she committed the crime in front of witnesses sympathetic to the victim, and waited at the scene for police. I do think it was at least partially planned in advance, however, and her ability to argue and aim didn't seem compromised by her condition at all, as well as remembering to take the weapon in the first place. Her Life and death were very tragic. Money by itself can't buy happiness.

Blanca's story shows that wealth doesn't guarantee happiness. Blanca should have listened to her parents and not married John since her parents knew that she was only infatuated with him, and that's false love When marriages like these go a little south, the men will resort to infidelities, and that's exactly what happened. The cold hard facts showed and later proved that John was interested in her family's wealth as his true colors came out after Blanca's father died and upon seeing his reaction, that he expected to receive much more. I don't know about Blanca, either. She burned Rudolph Valentino even though he did her a favor, and her own son turned against her later so it leads you to wonder. Also, even having wealth and privilege, if you are beset with health problems that medical science can do nothing to resolve, of what benefit is wealth? Wealthy Blanca was one unhappy person as shown by her suicide.

Nonsense! Wealth does guarantee happiness of a different sort!!! Without it you're bound to have infinitely many more basic types of problems! I would have taken it over poverty any day although it's too late for me since I'm very old!

@@roberttelarket4934 It is not nonsense. Money is needed for a protection, but too much wealth can create problems as well as poverty. It's best to live a life where your needs are all satisfied and you remain content, and that's somewhere in-between, having neither wealth nor want.

Interesting to see the moment when love turns to hate ... love that perhaps brought two people together, then if children, they start fighting over them & love turns to hate. Many people have died over custody battles. In the end she was punished

Happy New Year to all Good morning, This was very sad, not only because of the death of her husband, but because she did it in front of her child. I’m not saying what she did was right but when you have children involved, your emotions do run really high. I can understand why her family wasn’t happy with this union, because it seemed as if he married her and pretty much took advantage of what she had. He didn’t deserve to die for it. However, I could see how the jury had a lot of sympathy for her. He brings her to New York and commits adultery with several women, so I can see why she was in a very high emotional state. that still doesn’t give her the right to take his life. the worst part about this whole thing is how her son eventually stopped speaking to her and went back to the United States. I guess between her health and her son, turning from her, took a toll of sadness. In the end, whether she was found not guilty or not, there are no winners in this case. thank you so much for another great mystery I hope 2024 brings all of you many blessings. 🙏🏽 have a wonderful week and looking forward to next Monday

Hello BC Happy New Year to you and faithful listeners. Wishing you continued success on your channel. I love crime stories of the rich and famous and this story was no exception. Blanca well educated and all still did not heed her parents warnings. A man so much older and twice divorced she still fell under his spell. I think going over with a gun under her dress to claim for Jr. was clearly premeditated but maybe meant to scare him. Murder is not the solution but I am glad she was not charged. His intentions were clear; girl with money. Rudolph Valentino days how interesting. I hope Jr. went on to live a wonderful healthy life as for Blanca sad sad ending. From Texas cheers 🥂to all new good beginnings. Elizabeth
