Amazing isn't it? I bet none of us older motorcyclists ever thought we would be interested in bikes made in India. But, I admit I find this and the RE's very appealing.

Nice job Nick, would look good in your garage for sure! I think spokes are often the weak part when it comes to corrosion, my W800's spokes were pretty grim in places. Of all the features of this bike I think the one that intrigues me the most is the external oil tank, not sure why it does, perhaps because it's not a common feature these days and I hope it's not a total loss system 😁. It will interesting to see how well they do this coming year, the dealer network seems to be building nicely so I can't imagine any serious issues regards to parts etc.

The scrambler version seen at some shows looks the absolute nuts!

l took one for a test ride last weekend and it had a bit of an on off throttle at low revs which was a bit annoying but overall l really enjoyed the ride

This bike will sell like hot cakes, wish it had a kick start. Would have been bad ass!!!

Hi Nick, I now own this very machine, which I purchased two weeks ago from Eddy's. I have already covered a little over 350 miles. Obviously I'm biased, but it really is flipping fabulous in every respect. The engine pulls like a train, even in 5th, that really surprised me. I know the build quality is lacking and the materials used are far from the best. I have already found some rust, but I can put most of it right at the end the season in October. I don't intend to expose my Star to winter riding. I really enjoy every minute of being on it and it is incredibly relaxing to ride with little wind blast even at 60. I find the best speed is 50 at just under 3000 rpm, with the exhaust making that lovely muted burbling noise. Distance comfort is excellent and I have ridden for 3 hours straight without problem. I strongly recommend folks to test ride these 650's even if you are not seriously looking. It's not a motorway bike, definitely more a Friday afternoon ride to Filey for a cup of tea bike though. Keep it on the A's and B's, it's where it will give you the most fun.

I wish BSA well, a little costly compared with the RE Interceptor although some more premium parts. Easily capable of most duties.

Oh yeah and just another one I've noticed on these bikes when leaving squires, the rear light, it's tiny oh yeah the lens is reasonable, but it seems to only have a small led in the middle of the lens, which in poor conditions is a bit iffy, look like a push bike 🚲😂

Oh dear lord that usb box nick, I saw an early review on the bike were he mentioned it saying that the plastic hinge on top looked frail and wondered if it would last with repeated use, and you have now answered the issue, NO it's not fit for purpose 🤦🏻‍♂️back to the point that the devil is most certainly in the detail 🤨

ive owned beezers before and cant beat the old sound if bsa want to compete with truimph and royal enfield they need to do more models not just the gold star and here in new zealand we got no dealerships , after owning truimphs and bsa all my life i went and bought an indian scout but....next year might get second bike it be truimph more models available and more power

I would probably be more excited about it if RE hadn't released the new Classic 350. It's the bar for how a new/retro bike should work and look. These, they just look like a new bike trying to look old. Doesn't work for me I'm afraid. I wish them well, more bikes to choose from is always better. Ride Safe 🙏🏼

Mmm I think that the usb box looks like an after thought, or something that they got off ebay! And why are the BSA logos on the engine casing stickers! Really at six and a half grand stickers, they couldn't have embossed it or etched it 🙄 and that old re-worked rotax engine as used for the bmw f650gs way back, or that huge radiator, come on nick they could have made it smaller and more aesthetically pleasing don't ya think, as they say "the devil's in the detail"
