Hi Everyone, Sorry about the video quality. I film at HD 1080 but got compressed to 360p. Found out why, KZfaq upgraded it's format and will accommodate 4K . That's what happens when I'm away for so long. Will try to upload again at 1080 HD. Thanks for your understanding.

I love William's videos - they are the best available! I was about to make this jig but then realized I had bought those Microjig dovetail clamps which allows you to clamp a board to your existing fence from behind utilizing dovetail channels. So instead of making William's box I duplicated those functions with just two pieces of 7" tall MDF. One piece has the rabbet groove and the other piece doesn't. The advantages of using these clamps are only 2 pieces of wood required and it clamps tight to your fence; it also takes up less room for storage and no cumbersome workarounds for oddly configured fences. The downside, of course, is the expense of the clamps and dovetail router bit - not an issue for me since I already had them. Anyway, just a simpler albeit more expensive alternative.

I am new to wood working and never knew about jigs for my tools. This is so invaluable to me. It is opening all sorts of possibilities for me. I was so afraid of my table saw and now I am getting much more confidence since I am learning how to be safe with my table saw. My first time using my table saw I got hit with a piece of wood in the forehead so I didn't use it for years. I only use to fix things around the house but now I want to make furniture and things that I need in my house. Thanks for opening up a whole new world of new adventures for me!

Thank you Bill for this in-depth video on building your Table Saw Jig. I built mine seeing it in your Box Joint Jig video and it works very well for trimming the box joint finger stubs after glue-up.I hope you have the time to create more videos, I know it takes a lot more time than it looks like to shoot and edit. Wish I was 3000 miles closer so I could attend some of your classes.

Do you know what? I watched your build video before watching the fence in action. Ha I'm looking for a design of a fence to improve or replace the one of my cheap Stanley table saw. Looks like your design could improve it a lot without much tweaking! It's just what I need: Taller, sturdier, with a tool tray... Cool. Now I'm going to watch it in action! Hi. I just want to say thanks for all your video tutorials. I have just started getting into woodwork and came across your channel when looking for jigs for woodwork. A lot of it is over my head so was wondering if you could recommend any books for a beginner. In another video you said you studied engineering, now though you do woodworking classes. How did this happen? Kind regards Lee
@michaela41416 жыл бұрын
Great videos William. How many inches of clamp throat do you need to build a 7" tall jig? If the tick line is 3" up, wouldn't a little over 4" of clamp throat be enough?

The poise and grace you demonstrate with your hand here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p8x-jLp4lbPOaHk.html is really top notch. However I did have a question regarding the one that you demonstrate with your Felder. "Shirley" you would say that that one is fitting a little more snugly than you would like?
@wnwoodworks6 жыл бұрын
All it needed was a little finish and wax. Take a look at the video again I re uploaded in HD 1080p kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nd2JjdZ_27m9f2Q.html I did this for you. I got lazy in the video and did not put finish and wax on it. Thanks for busting my balls. :) HaHa

Hi William.. I recently saw this video and wondered what type of finish you use on your jigs and fixtures..thanks! 😉👍
@wnwoodworks4 жыл бұрын
I normally don't put finish on my jigs and fixtures but this fence I wanted it to be some what slick so I just wax it. No top coat.

@richpeiffer62746 жыл бұрын
Love this! The only thing I'm confused on: Why, when trying to determine the length of the fence (as part of the final board length), would you measure the diagonally? Wouldn't you simply measure front end to back edge?
@wnwoodworks6 жыл бұрын
Because I put the fence on diagonally not straight up and down. Watch it at 3:47
