Destiny Players have always been like this. Think of Hawkmoon. It was introduced D1Y1 Power Leveled out of rotation after house of wolves expansion, D1Y2 Reintroduced as Eyasluna D1Y3 Reintroduced as Hawkoon D1Y4 Taken away with Destiny 2 Reintroduced the reintroudction with Austringer D2Y2 Hawkmoon itself was reintroduced with Season 11 or 12, D2Y3 Eyaluna was reintroduced with 30th anniversary D2Y3 Austringer was reintroduced D2Y4 They'll want to bring back Hawkmoon as craftable, likely when the playerbase is feeling a bit lighter and they want a draw card like Superblack, Gjalljorn or something similar. And like the consoomers that we are, we'll praise them every time for it.

Ultimately it depends what exactly you saved and PVP is infinitely the larger beneficiary of old stuff than PVE, although it's very certain situation and not terribly different. For example Bungie used to have Zen Moment on a ton of stuff but back then it was kinda meh, now it's good and on way less stuff so there is a scenario where old can be a bit more preferential than new. Even non sunset stuff like old Nation of Beasts and Age Old Bond lost Zen Moment on their reboots and that's a bit of a bummer. Also can't forget stuff that had swappable scopes that is a nice preference thing if you're very particular. Kindled Orchid Rampage+Kill Clip is still amazing being able to 2 tap 6 and below res and 1 head 2 crit 7-10. Especially in a world where people have more health, and there is a larger place for damage perks in PVP to shine when you need to take a follow up fight and that extra edge helps. Old Mindbender's had Quickdraw where aggressive shotguns don't really get it anymore. No Feelings is the only energy/2nd slot Scout with Boxed Breathing. There's also the situation of the Fate Cries Foul sniper that is capable of 70 zoom with Snapshot+Moving Target and it's a rarer scenario where you're taking insane advantage of having your sniper zoom way higher than basically any other sniper(exceptions being Year 1 stuff capable of the same scope that gets it to 70). There's also tons of weapon frames that just don't really have many options. If you never got a good Fractethyst, you could have an option if you kept Dust Rock Blues since it is basically the only other top slot precision shotgun in the game, also you'd be crazy to subject yourself to the RNG grind of Dares. That reality only further highlights where Bungie's failed to fully cover bases in the newer loot pool, there's plenty of weapons with element, perk, frame combos etc that we still are lacking modern equivalents for.

That definitely feels wrong, the health changes Bungie made definitely screwed up a lot of “fun” things. An Agressive Frame sniper that can’t body-shot kill with 2 of the strongest damage buffs in the game? That’s wack…

Yeah, most content creators overlook this important distinction when comparing Destiny to other MMOs. Gear in other MMOs is a stat-stick, while Destiny weapons have recoil, sounds, and visuals that make them stand out among other weapons in the same category. Kindled Orchid to me feels better to shoot than Rose does, despite Rose being mathematically “better”. And if it feels better, I’m gonna play better with it.

That doesn’t make me feel any better given that it’s literally just the same thing except now I have to spend hours and hours trying to get my rolls back because bungie makes the dumbest decisions ever. They should’ve just reissued every gun people cared about. I would genuinely be happier knowing I just get a new one instead of “we know you all probably deleted most of it so we’re finally undoing it two years later, have fun regrinding the same weapons we literally arbitrarily took and then made you feel stupid for deleting” sun setting will go down as the thing that ruined the game for most people. It’s why I first quit.

Leaves a bunch of unanswered questions too, like what about all the perks that have been removed that won't be attainable like drop mag on kindled? Or sight options on duke? Will they undo all the changes and give modern versions, risking balance since the old ones would just be better?

Well I'm sure some old weapons might be able to be gotten from their old sources like the EDZ and Nessus weapons.

This first time I heard of Datto clean someone else's vault, I laughed. Why trust a known pve content creator to go through vaults? In pve nearly all weapons can be used, pve isn't that difficult. It's pvp rolls that actually matter. And I don't trust Datto for pvp judgments lol I can't even pity anyone who asked him to do vault cleanings 😂

I remember that I've deleted my entire vault (yes, the whole thing) back before Lightfall.

@@SuperWubDub Yep that 70 Zoom you get on the +30 scope is indeed a unique enough interaction and Cammy's vid from a little while ago showing it off shows why it's worth keeping. Yes it's super zoomed and a little awkward but it gives free headshots.

Bro my dumbass back in the day needed enhancement cores and I had 2 kindled orchids in my vault. One with shield disorient disruption break and one with the curated kill clip drop mag rampage. I dismantled the curated because I needed enhancement and ever since I’ve regretted it. Hopefully kindled is one that comes back with an origin trait and hopefully can roll with the OG perks
