Omg you've put me off now. My experience is engine knocking and rear main. Steering pipes rotting through. Now I've watch this it's even worse than I thought. Thank you for saving me.

I have an 08 nissan navara D40 the only work ive had carried out on it is Re recoded the injectors Suction control valve Suction hose for turbo actuator, other than whats mentioned everything else has just been serviced every 5k with belts oils diff oils filters front rear brakes etc at every 5k service. What I would like to have done is replace the intercooler and hoses with a new ones fit a catch can andthe list goes on. To date ive almost done 143000. On the Stx model manual. Great big workshop everyone in West Yorkshire and thanks for the knowledge that you extend to not only your local customers but internationally aswell. Thanks Des and Crew!

Mines a 2007 pathfinder 2.5 . This is my third one and cant find a similar vehicle with the same spec at a reasonable price. Thanks for all the info you give in the videos. No doubt i will be calling in at some time as im in yorkshire and will most likely need some help at some time due to the 1000 miles per week that i travel.

I brought my navara 18 months ago. It so far has been the best most reliable car i have ever had. Not one issue has happened since owning the vehicle.

Yes I still have my D40 I have had it now 4 years this month never had a problem it’s done 160000km.

@@manedwolfwithagmailaccount1478 I got a reconditioned engine put in my d40 2014 navara because the timing chain snapped as it was not replaced by the mechanic at the right time and was simply left in the engine for way longer than it should have been and was bound to snap and it messed up the entire engine. If you do get one, when you do a full car service, ensure they check the top and bottom timing chain as it was the bottom one that snapped and only the top one was replaced. Other than that they are great vehicles and mine has been very reliable considering i take it 4wd all the time. They do chew through a decent amount of fuel, a little more than other utes from the same time period but still a great car.

Thanks for the information. I'm convinced I don't want one now. Especially after having rear main and con rod failing in less than 30000 miles while under warranty many years ago. I thought for some reason they were buy and forget motors with oil changes.

In the old days, motors on super petrol with cast iron heads. We used to have water injection to keep carbon deposits away. Is there a modern equivalent, for direct injection engines to constantly keep the carbon away?.

I have a 2006 navara from new with over 100 thousand miles never a problem and drives like new.. A lot of people just don't look after them very well...

So much good info. Where do I buy a new set of leafs springs? It’s difficult to find a place with a match to my vehicle. A np300 2010 4x4 diesel manual transmission. One side has a loose spring. It’s old and creaky. Greased things up and still too much noise coming from them. I think better to get all new springs.

When someone points out every fault you will ever have in a 5 minute video it can make the vehicle look like a nightmare. However this should be taken for the gem of knowledge that it is. My audi for instance, dual mass flywheel, water pump, bushes, leaky shocks, however on the whole, over the life of ownership is super reliable.

Isn't that just carbon coming through the injector? I had it on my focus and they just cleaned it off, since then I have done over 80000 miles with no probs

Thanx for all the tips. Was of great help. But one problem, 2005 Pathfinder 2.5DCi 4x4, I have fuel pressure, timing is correct and injectors fire. But vehicle ont start. I suspect the pressure valve under the suction controller valve sensor on the pump. Not sure if my wording is correct either. Pl pl pl help???

why would the turbo job on the navara become dear after it goes? you mentioned that replacing it with new is cheaper? please explain?

Well if it breaks in the middle of a high rev, the turbo fan can do some serious damage to the engine compartment when it spins with 40k+ rpm. I've seen turbo fans being shot out the hood on a BMW. Replacing it with a new before it blows might be wise. Like most engine parts close to failure.

taking off the engine covar in a show room may not be practical, best buy the car then get it checked over then send it back if need be

The Nissan navara is the most beautiful and nice riding pickup. Unfortunately they are not reliable.

I’m just looking at 2005 model and it’s had this work done.. would you say this covers all the main bits and it should be a good buy? Work done: Big end bearing upgrade on engine New clutch New radiator Egr valve blanked Timing chain replaced All belts changed Full service on engine Air con overhauled Chassis was stripped, degreased and strong back welded Chassis has been waxoyl'd fully for protection Tub taken off, small hole welded and rubber replaced Rear cab mounts replaced Rust on the body panels was grind3d back Snti rust treated, filled and painted

Thanks good one I've a 2008d40 in Australia got 13o ooo km on it second owner mate owned it from new and drove it like it was stolen for first 1oooookm but it hasn't been off-road beach etc not a thing has broken at all it has had oil changes every 5oookm on the dot n gear n diffs every 1o ooo it's the panic mode bogged here that is sure to fuk any 4x4 try to avoid a tow hitch an never buy a car off the owner of a caravan.

Hi mate, could you please be a little more specific as to which year/ model to avoid and which models are better than others both in the d40 and the d22. So much misleading info out there. Yes the timing chain is an issue but is it as much of an issue in the d22 as to the d40 also does Rx,st and stx make any difference?are the d22 yd25 having the same issues as the yd25 d40? The vid just seems to show you what you should be looking for in buying pretty much any car not just navara specific.im looking at buy either a 2013 d40 or d22 both have low kms and full service history. Have Nissan ironed out any demons by 2013?More model specific information would be muchly appreciated Thanks

The most important thing to check 1 does it have a Nissan badge on the front if the answer is yes then don’t buy it, get someone to punch you in the face when you come round you will realise you nearly made the biggest mistake of your life if you still buy one your a total idiot( a fool and his money are soon parted)

Isnt it a foreign word originating from french? Ie. that means it's pronounced with a silent s at the end anyways. Sound right the way he pronounces it.

Only one piece of advice you need to know here, don't buy one they are absolute scrap. Chassis's still breaking in 2023 here in Northern Ireland and Nissan don't wana know about it. ABSOLUTE SCRAP. Stay well clear.
