Just my opinion, but, would you have been better making those tables, slide out, instead of hinged ?. The fact that they are hinged means that, everytime you want to use the tables, you have to move everything on top of them. If you put them on sliders they would work the same but, with less upset of other things.

Something I've learned making multifaceted things like your van outfit: Always be thinking how you can take apart various elements so you can change them.Always when you do something like this almost immediately you'll have ideas on how it could be done better. And if you then modify it, you'll come up with fresh ideas. With a van outfit, working with someone who's done several is the smart way to go. (How many of your ideas did Bill immediately shoot down? See.) Your chop off the too long screws is a good solution. I've spent hours finding tiny screws 12mm by whatever the heads need to be... and they don't grip very well. I always use my hiking poles point down. For my DIY rain fly that I first used in a very muddy Dorsetshire, I had a piece of paracord with loops already tied. I'd find my spot, put my poles through the loops, plant the poles, insert the stakes, drape my tarp. Then inside I can bump the poles without them sliding out of place, and the handles don't get dirty. I'd do the same for you set up. I'd also just cut two 4cm x 4cm posts. Then over time I'd cut one off and then see how many times I actually needed to adjust the height. Like elaborate bed leveling systems I think you'll find one size covers almost every situation, and when it doesn't, then use your pole. I subscribed when you were getting lost in your granny's back yard and got nosebleeds walking across overpasses. A million subscribers might be tough. There just might not be that many people on the planet who can handle the deep intellectual challenge of 50 different gate latches.
