The Mid-Autumn Festival is a big part of Chinese culture, and eating Chinese mooncakes is something everyone does on this day! To make things more challenging, we're gonna be giving the mooncake recipe instructions in Mandarin Chinese only! This includes the mooncake filling recipe! Edward and Sheldon are Cantonese speakers so they're not native fluent Mandarin speakers so let's see how they do!

You guys may have given Edward’s mum food poisoning. Those salted egg yolks are meant to be cooked first before they get wrapped up in the red bean paste. The baking time for mooncakes is very short and that because it’s only to cook the skin. Given how thick the skins turned out to be, I’d be surprised if the insides were cooked at all! And Edward’s mum was so kind to say only nice things about the end results.

I am so glad I ran into this channel a few months ago. I took Mandarin lessons and Chinese culture classes for about 2 years in college but, sadly, had to stop taking them and watching you guy's videos makes me feel like I gained a new set of friends teaching me about their culture and I still feel like I'm learning. Makes me miss my professors and classmates a lot too.

Where's UNCLE ROGER.?? Dudes literally didn't do any research on how to make mooncake beforehand 😂 The salted yolk should've been washed & cooked first before putting it inside the bean paste. And the dough is wayyy too thick. I'm madd😂😂 I even cooked my own golden syrups & bean paste from scratch.
