The one I made the spring would pop out from under the catch block. I edited in a little tab on the bottom that prevents the spring from going anywhere. Lets me use a shorter spring too so the trigger pull is light and crisp

I don't know why but I've only had one sear spring come out with the proper tension out of 6 or so prints. All the other ones are way too loose and floppy.

Really amazing design. Would it be possible to replace the rubber bands with an extension spring connected to a metal pin or something similar attached to the back end of the rail system?
@printingwithlue4310 Жыл бұрын
You sound like you already know what you're doing. Is it updated or finished?!? I need to see🧐😝 Don't wait on anyone... Just do it yourself. Have that faith in yourself yo😎 I'm already trying to devise a way to put a pin through the side of the barrel connected to the launcher plate, to pull the charger back, instead of using the plunger to prime it. Never wait for no one else if you gots a good idea.

Is there a suggested size for the wire diameter of the spring? I've tried 1mm which is too stiff and 0.5 mm which stay compressed and doesn't spring back.
@printingwithlue4310 Жыл бұрын
Try different stiffness. You should be able to find wires that are same size/gauge but have more/less springy.

Is there something wrong with the Lock_Sear_A design? There's barely enough room to have it move and the trigger pull seems to be very short compared to what I see in this video.
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
A few people have mentioned something like this; I recently updated the trigger to have a shorter pull the sear design has not changed.

I'm having a nightmare trying to print the parts. On the grip, first layer onto the bed where the holes are for the screws it's really struggling, it will lay one down then the rest turn into a blobby mess, any tips for retraction settings as I think this is what's causing me issues????
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
Uh sounds like it might be a more general printer issue, that part is a simple octagon for the most part. If it’s peeling from the bed into a blob it’s a bed adhesion problem - usually stringing is a more likely symptom of bad retraction settings
@receiving90675 ай бұрын
I know, late to the party. I was having issues with them too, but then I started using glue sticks and everything prints perfect. The biggest struggle I've had since is the mid stock warping or not printing correctly. I stood it up on the end where the grip attaches and it prints great every time. Haven't noticed the change in layer direction to affect strength at all. I flip the forestock upside down and it does well too. Printing on their sides always gave me warping issues

I had to find mine on Grainger if you want them all the same and the "cheese head slot" style like he has. The problem is it's only available in bulk, had to buy like 100 packs lol but at least I have enough to make as many as I want for friends!

i would go to lowes/home depot and look for a box of assorted small springs. It comes with both compression and extension springs. It has many sizes in them, just try a few of them and see what will fit.

Is there an Axe grip file without the Nut space? I have ruined 2 axe grips trying to install the grip. Each time either the angle of screwing in causes the handle to bulge at the top of the grip (angle must have been too steep) or I can't get the screw to engage with the nut correctly and the nut breaks out and starts spinning freely in the slot, ruining the grip.
@engineerxk25442 жыл бұрын
Update: The new v3 Mid Stock worked better with the extra meat for the grip stock screw, but I ran into a new problem I'm hoping to solve. I did 18% infill on the mid stock...but this time the mid stock was so brittle I was able to crush and break it in my bare hand. Not sure if it's the new stock's orientation (some of the print striations on this print look very different) on my printer, or if I did 30% infill in previous stocks and I did 18% this time...I'll keep at it.
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
Check you are printing the right mid section, you could be accidentally using too long a screw
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
Sorry just read your reply. Yes the issue is the old mid was too short for that length of screw so you just ended up screwing up into the plastic. The infill needs to be pretty high for the handles, but even 18% should not crumble for the midsection, you may be having printer/plastic issues
@heavenisalie2 жыл бұрын
ever tried self tapping screws instead of machine screws?
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
Have certainly thought about it! There is a few places where that would probably help, but half the screws are acting as something’s axis :p probably would be better off adding hex nuts instead
@XiaoZong3222 жыл бұрын
4:16 the two 30mm screws seem too long. I measure the depth of the two outer holes, they seem to be 25mm instead?
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
Unless I am missing something, the depth should be of the holes in the grip + the thickness of the butt cap, hence the 30mm screws should fit fine?

Use a flathead screw driver or something similar to hold the spring into a compressed position.
@printingwithlue4310 Жыл бұрын
Ok you'll need 2 springs for this to work. Take the first spring, and a hammer and smash it until it's super flat and not a spring anymore. Then you throw that one away and apply a small bit of super glue to the bottom of the 2nd spring and throw that bad boi in there.
