Just a Few Acres Farm

Just a Few Acres Farm

3 жыл бұрын

Yes, our cattle are afraid of turkeys! A flock of wild turkeys came into the field where the Dexter cattle were grazing, and the Toms' gobbling spooked the cattle. They ran through two fences into another field. Hilarie and I get to work fixing fences and getting the cattle into a new paddock. Afterwards, I start getting equipment ready for hay season, backing up a hay wagon out of the barn, and moving the baler out and the manure spreader in. I hook the Farmall MD up to the tedder I bought at auction to see how everything runs.

My farmer dad passed away in 1980, but if he were still here, he'd be sitting right next to me with each and every one of your videos, Pete!!! I, for one, am deeply grateful for the extra efforts you invest in all these film capturings of your daily life there on the farm. And, by the way, I'm thrilled for you on the most EXCELLENT job you did on that MD!!! Tis a work of art!!! ;o)

As a Diesel mechanic for 20 plus years I think you did a fantastic on rebuilding the MD , don’t listen to the haters that leave you messages . Your doing great and keep it up . Your a dieting breed being ran out of business by the Giant conglomerate farms and your successful, don’t ever forget that . That’s my two cents . Look forward to seeing many other videos. I just got done with my second major back surgery and can’t donate to your Go Fund Me but I will ASAP . Thanks for the hours of entertainment. Hope all is well, Woody Wilson Zimmerman MN .

As usual, I very much enjoy your videos. I have never had regular sized pigs, but my children enjoyed the pot belly pig, & we had numerous piglets, from time to time. Now the children are grown and gone, along with my wife. But I have wonderful memories of Horses, Cows, Goals, Sheep, Alpacas, Dogs, & Cats, on my little 20 acre farm. At 72, I am thinking about reseeding & growing hay, since I have the equipment. I don't need the money, but it will give me something to do. Thanks again for your videos.

Pete backing that wagon out of the barn reminded me of my youth watching my dad back a full load of hay up the ramp and on to the very old barn floor usually in a rain or hail storm using our Farmall H. Those old international tractors always steered pretty easy even without power steering. The old barn floors had no nails so the horses feet would be safe. Just a fun fact. When I was in 4H I competed in a tractor driving competition and got first place because I was the only one who could back a four wheel wagon. I used a John Deere 1020 vineyard tractor.
