I think one of the best effects of Chaos Shuffle is the amount of people who are gaining confidence and getting adjsuted to played *without* meta perks. Of course gameplay may change and people may tunnel or camp more but overall it’s nice to see people changing their minds about builds.

@@SweetLeavesXbox1 You can press Esc and hover over your perks to see what they do. Sometimes the descriptions are long, but you can read while you're on a hook for example. You can also try to briefly read all perks in the lobby and then you're gonna know more or less what they do when you get them

@@SweetLeavesXbox1 This game modifier is literally an example of that statement being wrong. Queue times for both normal mode and Chaos Shuffle are approximately the same with negligible differences. They could absolutely add this as a permanent modifier and not cause the kind of trouble people assumed would occur if the game separated into modes such as casual and ranked. Hell, if anything, this game modifier has already created casual and ranked because the modifier is way more casual oriented than default gameplay.

Honestly what they could do is incorporate a similar system Identity V (DBD clone that's actually not that bad) uses. On weekends they have the different modes available so during the week queue times are fine, and on the weekends everyone goes into the other modes. Custom matches also let you choose any of the modes whenever you want.

It's not just on the weekends, it's every day, but only certain times. They have 2v8, prophunt, blackjack (a free-for-all where you get cards and try to kill each other), tarot (basically vip but 2 teams at once), tarot-crystal ball (same as regular tarot but there's a magic crystal ball that boosts your power), and chasing shadows (basically mario kart but on foot). There's also a ranked mode that's available at certain times of the day, in addition to quick match (casual) which is available all the time In every mode that isn't 2v8, queue times are near instant if you play hunter, survivor takes a few minutes. In 2v8 it's the opposite. In blackjack and chasing shadows there's only one role so it's always quick. Casual/quick match never feels any slower when other modes are available, which makes me think "splitting the queues" isn't as bad as people think. IDV sometimes has 6-8 game modes going at the same time, and matchmaking doesn't become noticeably slower when they are available compared to when they're not. The only problem with matchmaking in IDV is the ratio of one role to the other. Usually barely anyone plays hunter unless it's 2v8, because playing hunter on mobile is much harder due to not being able to see/hear anything on a phone, while survivors don't need to have good vision/hearing/aim to be able to play well

The only thing I wish we had in Chaos Shuffle is randomized items/add-ons, and the removal of map offerings. It's the worst feeling when you think you're going into the cool random mode to have fun and get greeted with a 4 man with syringes and an Eyrie offering and you're practically fighting for a 2k from the get-go because the build the game handed you can't keep up.

having random addons for killers would be nice too because so many killers have pairs of addons that are better than almost any set of 4 perks just by themselves and it really tips the scales in their favour. I've done enough perkless w/ addons matches to know.

some killer can get addons that brick their power though like billy power can no longer one shot a 1 in 17 chance is a 6% chance each match.. also some killer really want to save their iri addons having them randomly selected and be used up would feel bad remeber items and addons are used up in this mode.

@@mystoc3995 But that's the fun of it. As a survivor you can also get No Mither with Self-Care and Second Wind if you're really unlucky. The random chance is what makes the mode novel and interesting. Giving people the ability to remove nearly all the effects of RNG in an almost completely RNG mode just robs the fun from the experience. And there's no need to make it use up add-ons if they're randomly selected. The mode can already give you perks you don't own.

I doubt they'll keep this. But they could do something in the middle. A Random Perk that you can equip in all 4 perk slots that gives you +25% stackable bonus to bloodpoints and experience gain. It would give people an incentive to use at least some random perks in a public lobby.

Behavior took away the 100% BP from BBQ and Chilli for the simple fact that Killers was getting "to much BP". Although BBQ & Chilli is one of the best, iconic killer perks in DBD. Literally nerfed for greed reasons. I don't see Behavior allowing that idea due to the passed. Would be a great idea when new characters dropped :)

The most surprising thing about this modifier is that the perks that i get are usually actually pretty useful, but we wouldn't know otherwise, because people tend to stick to only meta perks.

My first game was legitimately a really good build. It was This isn’t happening, Friendly Competition, Blast Mine, and Lithe. It was actually an incredibly fun build. (Mind you I typically run blast mine for dopamine)

i think there should always be a limited time mode and the exact mode should switch weekly e.g one week its lights out next week its random perks next week its (x) game mode etc

Thing is, lights out and My Little Oni were beyond awful gamemodes that changed too much of the core mechanics of the game. I bet the drop off rate of playing those was significantly higher after the first 1 or 2 games played compared to this random perk gamemode.

This is actually the quality of life DBD needs. It gets stale picking your perks that you know will more so benefit you to escape or get a kill more than have fun. Plus it’s fun to get random perks all the time it sucks when ya get no mither (instant tunnel lol) and it gives no perk sets that no one thought to put together for killer and survivor. I really hope they keep this and the 2V8.

What they can do is weekly modes. This shuffle mode would be in for a week, and then some other mode like 2v8 will be up the following week. Other modes in the future could be in the mix. I believe random perks should be in the base game regardless. An option I can pick in my loadout, not just a tome challenge or a gamemode

I have really enjoyed it so far and Im sad it's leaving. One week feels so short, especially with nothing taking it's place when it's gone. I'm hoping they see people like it and rotate it in more often, but I'm kinda scared we won't see it for another year or more

I think it should be like how Apex Legends deal with their game mode, it's permanently but runs on a timer. For example, Chaos Shuffle will run for 4 hours, after the 4 hours runs out it swaps to the next one which is 2 v 8. So they could actually make multiple game modes permanent without actually dividing player base and making queue time longer for each separate game mode. If they don't like Chaos Shuffle, they can go normal mode and let people who enjoy chaos shuffle play, and when 2 v 8 goes that person who went to normal mode can now go to that modifier, so it will always be divided into two queues.

@@flohzz6644Windows helps everybody to some degree. Some pallets are RNG and you can't run to them knowing they are there unless you check first. You also dont know what pallets your team used without windows. Windows helps at every level of play and missing it has a very obvious effect in the confidence survivors have during chase

I heard Patrick say on Slasher radio that the plans are to eventually have a different queue for the modifiers and game modes where they’ll have what I assume to be 3-7 day rotations of previous game modes

RANDOM should be a selectable Perk you can put in your build in normal DBD (Would also allow to choose how many random Perks to have instead of fixed to 4) At the end of the match, a special outline around the Perk indicates it was randomly generated.

as survivor its really fun, feels like u have to rely on whatever rng gives you and the killer isn't running the same busted perks, and you even learn more about the game's other perks. i forget about alot of them but i had this one gen perk that i told my girlfriend would be p fun to run if the games weren't always so sweaty. i hope they keep it too and the 2v8 when it comes out as well sounds awesome.

It's just a feeling but I think the player base is robust enough to always have at least 1 alternate game mode. I assume they will rotate them to keep things fresh, but once there are enough modes, why not have 2 rotating slots? The gimmicky ones don't have as much staying power but they have really helped keep the DBD experience fresh and I think almost everyone has had fun with them.

I've been calling it since they've introduced modifiers. BHVR is most likely testing these modes to do a "roulette" mode akin to how Fall Guys works. That said, I definitely prefer this mode since I don't like playing with or against meta all the time and this helps keep that from happening.

I wish it did stay. It’s not only super fun and more laid-back than regular DbD, it also made me consider fun, off-meta builds that are also surprisingly useful. It’s so nice when you don’t have to worry about Pain Res or Adrenaline every single game.

There should now always be a second queue for whatever the modifier or game mode is. You have one queue for the base game of normal DBD and then the second queue for either Chaos Shuffle or the new 2v8 or Lights Out or whatever is the current one

This mode made me able to use a lot of survivor perks I don’t own that I thought wouldn’t get much value for me but ended up being really helpful (Buckle Up, Troubleshooter, Stakeout, Empathic Connection are some examples).

Everything depends on how many people are actually going to play this mode after some time. Right now the queues are fast, because it's still new. It's very similar to limited time modes in League of Legends. They are only very popular during the first two or three weeks and then most people get bored. Although Chaos Shuffle is pretty much the base game with randomized builds. I would play that for sure 100% of the time

Idk if I just got lucky with my matches but this mode is the most fun I've had with dbd in months as a soloq survivor. At first I was hesitant to even press play, because I'm used to the experience just being miserable (like lights out and my normal matches), but after a few games I was pleasantly surprised. I love how I get to try out perks I don't own and it's made me realize I can actually do fine without windows or any exhaustion perks. It's also such a breath of fresh air to not have to play against pain res, pop, grim embrace or corrupt every single game and I've come across killer perks I had never even seen before in any of my normal matches. However as you mentioned in the video, this mode also shows how much the game is balanced around slowdown perks, which is really not a good thing

Separate comp and quick play modes are drastically needed much more to make rank mean something along with separate players by mindset. Then you can create custom lobbies even randoms can join. Which is one of the best things to do for longevity in a game.

There was a match where it gave me no perks at all (on surv) and was shockingly enjoyable. Ik you can just do that normally but in this randomized scenario its pretty enjoyable. Idk if it was a bug or intended, but it was definitely funny when i went to check what perks i had and there was just nothing

Chaos Shuffle has been nothing but fun. Trying out perks I would never otherwise get to try has been great. There are still those unlucky matches where you get bad perks and the other side is stacked with good perks but I loved trying to get value out of the perks I'm given and as killer it feels great going for 8-11 hook games without slowdown. I do not miss normal games using Pop and Pain Res to try to accomplish 8 hook games or 4ks and I might even try to switch up perks on the main mode sometime but I'm gonna miss Chaos Shuffle so much I would still play this mode every day if it stayed around forever

I personally used the mode to learn hillbilly in a chill environment. Going for 12 hooks and all that with frozen MMR was nice and I tried to not tunnel to get as many saws as possible, allowed me to chill and practice and no meta perks on both sides made it interesting.

Personally, this mode becomes double the fun when you do what Zubat did which is down laod Nightlight > Blank Pack > Guess your perks. I got Smash hit, Scav, babysitter and Object vs a Blight and my god I had so much fun getting constantly chased

I got to experience having calm spirit against the doctor for the first time that was entertaining. I’m loving this mode it brought me back from a hiatus and I haven’t touched normal mode. I got the worst build I could ever imagine which was no mither and scene partner so I kept screaming and revealing myself, I couldn’t stop laughing. I also had lightfoot which only works while healthy SPLENDID!! I’ve also finally seen quick gambit get value for the first time, I’ve remembered how fun and stupid blast mine is, people get to practice flashlights without getting hard countered before they even ready up…. It’s such a blast!!!!

I think now that we have multiple load outs, they should add a 4th and that load out is random perks and you can do whenever you like. Of course it’s different when everyone is doing it in a different mode, but think this would be fun and a great option for all matches.

I love this mode because I got to try perks I never thought of before. I actually found some off meta perks I like that I am planning to use in my games. On top of that it adds a whole sense of unknown to the game. I found myself getting perks that handicapped me like No Mither that actually made the match more fun to play because I felt I was having to work with what I was given, not what I chose to make me stronger. Overall fantastic mode and I really want to see more of it.

Agreed!! I've had alot of fun playing this too. I think this mode can make you a better player as well, just kinda working with what cha got

I think it’s so much fun bc everyone is on the same level! I actually have felt less stress while playing killer. I play as I normally do but I’m enjoying trying to get as much value as possible with whatever perks I get! & same thing with survivor

For it to stay they need to fix empty perk loadouts first but they haven't managed to throughout all these archives so it's technically a playable game mode but like 1 in 4 trials I get to play with no perks at all and it's no fun

I wish there was an option to have the game pick your killer/survivor for you in shuffle. Sometimes I'll just stare at the killers because I want to play but I don't know who to pick. Having it as an option in chaos shuffle would genuinely make it the only mode I play.

I see the mode as a way for new killers (new to that specific killer) to get a feel for the killer in a neutral sort of zone as the mode kinda prevents bully squads or sweats running the meta from hindering your ability to learn the killer because the other side is shutting you down at every turn. Plus it lets us all be kinda goofy and have a good time

I haven't watched the video yet but one thing I have a complaint about. I feel like the perks aren't truly random. I got urban evasion or built to last like every 4th match. Don't know if I'm just unlucky.

It's honestly been a blast overall. Sure I've had some bad games, but it's a big confidence booster knowing that your gameplay is solid enough to get 3 or 4 kills with perks bringing almost nothing to the table. I have had Ghostface games where I get Insidious or Overwhelming Presence and I'm like "whelp, I have only 3 perks or 2 perks" and I still do fine. I agree completely, they should just keep it in

I never ran slow down perks, even in normal, so it's such a blessing to finally play with ppl on my level. I don't think I'll return to dbd if the game modes goes away

I think it needs some tweeking. Sometimes I end up with a perk 2-3 games in a row. Sometimes I end up with a perk that is literally unusable due to having a perk that counteracts it. I think if they adjusted how it determines perks you get so situations like getting no mither and self care can't happen then it would be perfect

At the very least I feel like every mode/modifier should be kept preserved in Custom Games so you can at least play Lights Out/My Little Oni/Chaos Shuffle or whatever else comes out with your friends.

I’m absolutely loving the mode except for yesterday where I got 4 games in a row without any perks as killer. I’m not sure if that’s a bug or not but I had to get off for the night after that💀💀💀.

The problem is the longer times goes less people may play it and you just have fighting queue times, especially when they add third modes like 2v8. I would love to see one mode come out at random once a month for a week, or just rotate every week.

One think I would like is for addons to be random as well. Also making it so it doesn't consume any you have, I think it's a great way of trying addons you've never used before. And yes it could mean you get meme addons but survivors get No Mither with Self-Care, so I think it's fine.
