Any concern about the strength of the melted together ends?

It’s a berry common was to end them. On the base cord, making sure the melted ends aren’t in the “loops” at the end and buried somewhere in the middle eliminate a weak point. But built this way, people have been using them to pull themselves up into Jeeps for a long time with nothing breaking. I’m sure there is always a chance of anything breaking…even the cord after being sun damaged and whatever else. But I haven’t heard of any failures.

You can! You can actually double it up and make it thicker. So in other words, once finished…just start again near the top loop and go over what you just did. It makes it much thicker. You’ll need to add a couple feel to the length though.

yea have seen and thought about doubling it up was just thinking if something else could be used might just stick with doubling it up doesn't take much more to do and less thinking about it hahaha

You bet it did. Have to hook it to something on both ends to keep it tight. So your jeans, shoe laces, whatever…it holds it tight just to weave it. You can try doing it without hooking that end to something…but it is next to impossible.
