I feel like I've seen a commercial for green produce bags on TV before (in America), that allegedly kept food fresher longer, but I'm pretty sure it came with some sort of vacuum sealing machine. Still, I remember claims that this "special" type of plastic bag maintained the perfect amount of moisture or ventilated or some garbage like that.
