If you look at the move log on the right side, you can see that all that was skipped was the opponent capturing on c2 and then Simp developing his knight. Maybe the opponent took so long to make a move after that that the game auto-forfeited?
@CB-lh4ph6 ай бұрын
it seems like the strat should be to just sacrifice all of your pieces. If your opponent can't capture any of your pieces they can get at most 8 points + whatever the king is worth, so if you sac your queen for a rook, your rooks for minor pieces, and minor pieces for pawns, it shouldn't be possible for your opponent to catch up
@flint97596 ай бұрын
Often, a king is worth a game-winning number of points in these kinds of variants. I wouldn't be surprised if the point-based victory is purely to stop every endgame from ending in a draw from the 50 move rule. So if you sacrifice all your pieces ASAP, then the opponent could just take your king and win the game.

I didn't understand... If it's point based then when does the game end? Also, why does it say "win by checkmate or stalemate" on the right of the screen?
@SrogaPoziomka6 ай бұрын
If you get check mated, but you also have more points, do you win? 🤔
@person80646 ай бұрын
I'd imagine the checkmate makes you lose, otherwise you could just sac all your pieces on pawns to stop your opponent from getting points
@flint97596 ай бұрын
There probably is no official 'check' in this variant and instead you have to capture the opponent's king. It's probably then worth an absurd number of points when you capture it, so you're guaranteed to win. The points are probably just to stop endgames from becoming draws by the 50 move rule or from all pieces being petrified.
@tochoXK36 ай бұрын
Checkmate gives 20 points. Yes, you could theoretically mate and lose.

this mode made no sense, other modes you can feel why the rules are the way that they are for balancing reasons, but this mode just feels like a cluster of ideas put together for no reason at all
@davidtitanium226 ай бұрын
I'm guessing that the points system is because they don't expect a checkmate to happen with so many impregnable stone walls, and the pawn moving sideways is to avoid games being over too fast when they hit a wall, but then players become confused about what's they're supposed to be going for, making chess just a "don't lose pieces" game is boring

What's the point of the points, if the rules say "win by checkmate or stalemate" ? Either that sentence is not true, or what is the situation when the points come into consideration?
@tochoXK36 ай бұрын
If the game would end in a Draw, the player with the most points wins instead. Mate "only" gives 20 points, so you can "Claim Victory" if you have an advantage of at least 21 points (you "resign", giv your opponent 20 points, then still win).
@panda42476 ай бұрын
@@tochoXK3 so the sentence is not true, right?
