Hello, and welcome back to The Kneady Homesteader Channel where today we are making and canning Christmas Jam! Perfect for gift giving or entertaining. This jam is made with cranberries, sweet dark cherries, freshly squeezed orange juice and with classic holiday spices. I hope you enjoy this recipe and as always, if you have any questions, leave them down below in the comment section for me and I will try my best to answer them for you.
1 12oz bag cranberries
3 16ox bags dark sweet cherries (pitted)
2 freshly squeezed oranges PLUS water to equal 1 cup of liquid
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
6 tbls classic pectin
7 cups sugar
1/4 inch headspace
Process 10 minutes. Will keep in the fridge, once opened, for about 1 month.

I just made this for gifts for Christmas. I made it with the strawberries and cranberries. I also added about 2 tbs of orange zest. It will seriously make your tongue slap your brains out. It is that delicious. My son said it may be his new favorite jam.

OMG, I just made this! Literally, my jars are processing! I have 9 beautiful half-pint jars, and I couldn't be more proud. And it's sooo delicious. I keep tasting the dribbles that are setting up in my pot, like a kid with cake batter. Such a beautiful crimson for Christmas and my kitchen smells like childhood. I'm babbling. Sorry. New canner here. I would never have had the courage if not for you, Heather. I can't thank you enough!

I love that you said nothing funky in there. A long time ago (you were probably were 15) I was asked to pray over the meal (chicken and rice) I prayed, "Lord, bless this meal and please don't let there be any funky chicken in here."

Yeah...one handed (right arm is in a sling post op) I got my Christmas Jam canned! I gifted myself the Ball electric canner also. That helped immensely! I love it!

Oh my God, made this jam last night, 2 versions,one with the cherries and one batch with strawberries, and they are delicious!! Delicious. My family is going to go head over heels over this. I have been watching you for a while and between you and Linda's Pantry I tried canning back in August 2020. I really enjoyed it. I tried water bath canning 20 years ago and I had no one to teach me, it was a total fail. I didn't do anymore. You and Linda gave me courage to try again. I then ordered a pressure canner. Of course it was on back order. I ordered in August and finally got it 2 days before Thanksgiving. I tried a very small batch yesterday and it was great. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge. I can't thank you enough. I am so excited!

I used your Christmas Jam over my oven-roasted brisket. I just added one pack of onion soup to it, mixed and spooned over the brisket. Mercy it was good. Thx you.

10-23-2022. Hi Heather 👋 I just made your Christmas Jam, OMG I can't believe how delicious it is. I think I could eat a hole jar. I got 8 half pints and one pint. The only reason I did a pint is because I didn't have and more half pints. I have to definitely make more. I want to give some for Christmas. I am on a fixed income and have very little to get gifts. Love watching you. Sending many prayers that you are healing from your last surgery on your leg. I miss your beautiful face, and your videos. Yesterday I canned celery, so many times I need some celery and now I have 9 half pints jar, thanks to you. My cupboard is getting full. Hopefully I will be set come winter. Love you and miss you. Many prayers for you and your family

Love this video! My Mom used to make "Home-Made Jam" when I was a child. Your joy and warmth reminded me of watching her and "helping" safely. First I have to say I made 4 loaves of the condensed milk bread for Thanksgiving and my kids and their spouses LOVED them and they were given a loaf to take with leftovers they were over the moon. Can’t wait to try this and give for Christmas to them of course with more bread lol

I've only had 3 canning sessions to date but man, I've already noticed the zen, healing, calming sense of it. It's been a stressful week in my home as well, and I've been feeling the need for a sesh. I plan on giving homemade jams to all my December birthday buddies, and I can't think of a more perfect flavor than this! (I think cherries are more holiday-ish than strawberries anyway 😉) Will definitely be getting the supplies for this 😊

I went over just to see her kitchen. Looked like a 6 burner Viking stove. That alone was enough to make me drool. Now if she had a Wolf Sub-zero refrigerator I would have to ask her to adopt me! In spite of all the red it is a stunning kitchen. I’d be more inclined to do blue. Loved the French rooster touch! And the weathered brick! Oh yeah and the 1/2 round window. Yes I would say eye-candy is a great term! Excuse me while I go get a tissue to wipe my mouth. **SIGH** I bet the rest if the house is exquisite!

@@TheKneadyHomesteader I know, right? Same here! And I can barely cook. I would have the kitchen just so I could have my coffee sitting at an equally gorgeous island just so I could look around and enjoy the “scenery.” This recipe is a keeper. Reminds me of the Indian River Cranberry Orange relish (which I haven’t been able to find in years) that you add jello to for the holidays. Have you ever thought of adding some orange zest to it? Btw, as much as I love strawberries adding them to this recipe just wouldn’t be right. Thanks for sharing!

Made Christmas jam the other day. I used strawberries instead of cranberries. Saving the cranberries for something else. Heather...the jam came out so good! Thank you for this recipe. 😁
