Clean Keto on a Budget - Sprouts Market Grocery Haul - Thomas DeLauer
Try to get the meat department first. Go for leaner cuts of chicken. 3 things of breast for the week works for me. Look for "No added growth hormones EVER on the label. "EVER" is the keyword because if it doesn't say it, that means it can be added before or after or anything.
Chamomile tea. Always great. a little pricey but it'll help with falling alseep. Zevia is a good option if you want something sweet but remember, you're going to get cravings.I know i sound like a broken record but, you want to hit the meat first, then the veggies then the aisles.
People always make fun of me because i like the vegan cheeses. this is cool, they actually have Raw Butter and its pretty local to me. I always look for the "local" tab. however, i can't swing that price. Thats HIGH. Normally i get the Good Cultured Cottage cheese but they seemed to be sold out
I find that coconut milk best. Coconut cream is great but coconut is just better. it makes it taste like you are having 2%. When it comes to almonds, get roasted over raw. No mixed nuts. cashews are going to wreck you. All right, I will see you all soon. Thank you very much.

Thomas. I am a former sprouts employee. The meat dept is supposed to put all their grass fed beef products on the green styrofoam trays. It makes them easier to find. They grind their beef on site and usually only do it to match the volume they're selling because the shelf life is short. You can always call ahead to the meat department and have some ground for you prior to visiting the store. They'll prep it up and set it aside for you in the meat market. Fyi. Hey don't normally write on here about myself but I just wanted to thank you Thomas for saving my life. One year ago today I had a heart attack at the age of 17, I was 463 pounds and was willing to do anything to change my life. I came across some information online about the keto diet and stumbled upon your channel. With all your helpful tips I was able to lose over 100 pounds. Thought id just share this info with anyone who is skeptical about doing this diet. It's honestly very easy to do and rewarding my one year mark hits today and im now sitting at 359 pounds.

Man these videos make me wish I was a store manager/owner at any one of the grocery stores. Because i'd totally give you free reign without feeling paranoid about getting kicked out. in all honestly I wish stores allowed this more. it would bring the business more customers and provide you with even better content. its a win-win! 👍:)

Im actually a manager at a sprouts in las vegas..... ive followed you for years.... we have alllooottt.... of stuff in my store and still adding more.... happy to see this video.... ive been teaching all of the customer that come in about keto (wich ive learned from you) i was recently told i should do youtube videos for keto lifestyle but then i replied by saying that would be considered plagiarism beacuse i learned everything for Thomas delaur haha ... good stuff man .... helped me loose more then 100 pounds already and still counting.

I love how down to earth you've always been and remain. You obviously have created an awesome income source through your channel, but you still try to maintain a budget and not be all flashy and excessive. Like you said, you probably wouldn't be shopping at Sprouts for a family, on a budget. True. I use a combination of Thrive, and regular, basic grocery stores (Stop&Shop, Tops, Hannford, etc). I do it ONLINE and pick it up. It helps me stick to my budget and avoid buying unnecessary items; Especially when you have children who go down all aisles and see something they "need", lol. I find buying it online, then picking up.. forces me to stick to my list, because I'm not bombarded with crazy branding and advertising. Just a tip for other budget shoppers. Single Mom of two boys , so I'm always budgeting. Even when I have a great income, cause you never what can happen in the future! Thanks for all you do. I watch your videos daily. It keeps me accountable, and is my entertainment. Keep doing you. And also, RECIPES WITH YOUR BUDGET HAULS ARE NEEDED, I believe I speak for the masses.

Good haul, I love sprout. I can shop there cheaper, easier, and cleaner that Whole Foods, Walmart and Target. Definitely, true about the tricky food, believe we fall into the trap that shopping at a “health” store mean everything to health.

Your weekly budget matches my monthly budget. I do learn a lot in your videos, and groceries are somewhat cheaper in Kentucky than in California...but not everyone can afford to do keto the way you do.

Our sprouts store has their macadamia nuts in a large barrel in the bulk section. I bought them once and they tasted and smelled rancid. I tried again and smelled them ...no change. I plan on talking to the manager next time I go. I guess I will stick with buying them at Trader Joe’s. Good video...I’m happy to see that you made it out alive. 💪🏼🎉🥂

This was extremely helpful. I love sprouts and it’s sooooo easy to blow my whole grocery budget here. I try to go here only for the things I can’t find at a grocery store. When you were looking at the Mayo you should have mentioned how easy and cheap it is to make your own. I use your recipe and it’s easy, delicious and cheap!! Great content, thank you!!

Love your view on the pork rinds. I actually normally look for low fat when looking for keto. normally I look for keto because it is low on carbs and is more clean but it is hard to find these things with low fat content.

Hit Sprouts strictly by sales. Every few weeks 25% off bulk bins. So I load up on macadamia/pecans/Brazil nuts for next month. Same with grass fed beef. $3.99 lb in Fort Worth on sale. Pickup and freeze 6-10 lbs. Walmart gets $6.99 for theirs. Everything else is just what is priced right and looks good. Asparagus, artichokes, avocados, peppers, etc. Their briskets are good quality. Smoke one every month cut into 6-8 oz portions and freeze. Great quick meal with salad, cabbage, sauerkraut, etc.

Hey Thomas! I would love more content on HIIT. Such as workout routines and more science! You're the main reason I've been feeling super good for the past several years with your sound advice, but HIIT has been a big game changer for me thanks to you! My main goal is to be in a good mood everyday and now I'm experimenting with 30-45 minutes of basic weight training, then 20 minutes of HIIT afterwards (bodyweight only) for about 5 days a week and 2 days of just LISS (running) for 45 minutes. What are your thoughts on my approach considering my goals?

Around the 8:30 mark on green bell peppers, I have read there are male and female ones with different tastes, seed amounts, and other differences. Whether the bottom has 3 or 4 rounded sections determines the sex.

I love Sprouts, it's like Disneyland for me,,lol,. Thanks now I will go with a different idea to do my groceries.....

Very helpful especially the part about meats and cheese. I love cheese and like to eat it but often lean towards cheddar vs mixing it up with feta and other cheeses you mentioned. Also really interesting and helpful about the meats and eating leaner cuts. Again I am guilty of going for the fattier cuts thinking fat = good for keto but neglecting the fat on the meat I eat might be loaded with stuff I don’t want to be consuming. Another helpful part was about grass fed vs grass finished. I hate it when food companies are sneaky like this. It makes trying to be healthy and get what you need to look after your heal all the more harder.
