Yo Tom you trying to kick people out of Keto ;) ? Shallots have over 2x the carbs of say a yellow onion. 5 grams of carbs net per 1 ounce/28 gram serving. That's a lot!!

@@dmerpaderp8083 1 chopped TBSP shallots is 1.4 g of carbs and 1 chopped TBSP of yellow onion is only 0.8 g of carbs. Whole vegetable would be 17g vs. 9.3g carbs although, yellow onions are higher in sugar and alcohol sugars. Just skip them I guess, I hate them so no problem LMAO.

In the general shops in UK there are no labels like ''grass fed'' meat. You have to really put a lot of effort in shopping for products. Most sausages are below 45% meat with a lot of cheap fillers inside.... and shredded brussel sprouts.. first time ive seen that! What a good idea for convenience !😂 Its been nearly 2 years that I've been watching your channel, and started investing on feeding my body with good wholesome food!

I wonder if a farmers market might be the best choice for good quality. (I'm not familiar with UK)
@lucasj2260

It is still the norm in uk that cows are grass fed. Certainly amongst traditional smaller farmers, like the one i grew up by. Check out local options, knowing where it was reared is key. or easy to do an internet search with many organic options that will deliver. There are however some outfits that fatten up cows with grains in the months before slaughter, US style, for some supermarkets. I Wish it was Labelled so. Plenty of high pork content sausages at supermarkets available, without the filler. Black Farmer, Heck for example.

Speaking of the shaved Brussels sprouts, there is a killer recipe in the cookbook Ottolenghi Simple that uses shaved brussels sprouts. It also has butter, olive oil, pumpkin seeds, caraway seeds, garlic, thyme, tahini paste, lemon juice and salt. Very simple and quick to make, especially if you have a toaster oven, so you don't need to heat up your big oven. The package that Whole Foods sells is perfect for it. Don't miss!
