Perfect timing mate, I started the setup of mine late Sunday night, but not finished yet. I’ve got a MT2 ground bar from my Lathe alignment that I’ll be putting in the Lang ER50 collet so I can run a DTI along the top for measuring Z axis is vertical, and along the side of the bar for X axis tram. Looking forward very much to watching future videos on this from you. Cheers buddy

Great video thank you. I’m about to get my 4th axis purchased for the tormach 1100mx. Great tips also what heat shrink system and tool holders are you using for the bt30?

Have you ever worked with tool maker ball you can do a very precision setup to centerline.

yes...but most novices dont have one....i use a tooling ball on your 5 axis set ups and on our sinker edm

Can the 4th axis be rotating while the spindle is cutting? i.e. can it make odd shapes like a cam lobe?

Thanks Jason! What maximum length would you recommend for a workpiece in the rotary axis? In other words, how far away from the rotary table can you reliably machine?

it depends in whether you have it supported with something like a tail stock

you are giving us great content on machining...........i have so much confustion about 4 axis trunnion parts that is not in center of rotary 4th axis. what to do then my part is off center from rotary axis?? what and how to take offsets of xy and Z..... we uses nx cam for programming..... programming is not issue ....setup is difficult..... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jruGg9BosM-6gZ8.html .......we are planning this type of setup but we got confused to ho to take z ooset and xy offsets ......which codes for dynamic offsets in 4th axisgramming is not issue ....setup is difficult
