His character is great, considering that he is the son of Daniel's former rival and that he went through character development rather than just starting out being like Daniel was at his age. Also, he did well with his acting.

Sure somehow this kid goes from smoking dope robbing people then in one episode becomes the "good" guy just because some dude showed him karate. Then they make Miguel a villain at the very last episode out of no where when he was the good guy all along.

Zabka did an awesome job with his acting. The writing is excellent, this series really surprised me. 10 out of 10 is my rating and I am hard to impress.

Billy Zabka was amazing. I love it when an actor “creates a character”. When you watch him in interviews he is this really nice, humble guy. He “creates” Johnny. What a talent.

I rolled my eyes and sighed when I first heard about this show. I thought it would be a pile of steaming garbage. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE WRONG IN MY LIFE. This show is the best thing I've seen in decades. I can't remember the last time I watched a show or movie and had so many great thoughts and feelings after it was over. 10/10, 5 stars, two thumbs up.

I was a big Karate Kid fan growing up (I was 12 when the original came out in theaters), but I had mild interest in this show when it was announced. Reboots typically don't work out well, so I was very skeptical. After watching the entire season, this show didn't meet my expectations and it wasn't good in my opinion. In all honesty, this show far exceeded my expectations and was GREAT!! This is the best TV show I've watched in a long time. I loved every minute of it. The writing and acting were outstanding. Thank you to everyone involved for presenting an interesting take in moving this story forward in a humorous but intelligent way. Never in my life did I ever think that I'd be rooting for Johnny Lawrence, but this series has changed that. NO MERCY!! Can't wait for Season 2.

I really didn't want to watch this cuz I thought it was going to be done poorly, but my brother wanted to watch. It's well written and I love all the connections between characters and references to the 1st movie. Great show.

Paul D yeah, It's pretty sad to see a bunch of people misinterpret the positive message of the show. The whole point of the show is that the mantra of "Strike first, no mercy" is just destructive. People who see Johnny being a father figure to Miguel as a great thing are partially correct, but it's quite clear that his mentoring is severely flawed. Miguel lost his girlfriend to win the trophy, showing how Johnny has instilled hubris into Miguel. He valued worthless praise and acted in an amoral manner, and it got him nowhere. Hopefully season 2 will have Johnny try to fix the problems he's caused and make up with Daniel.

Victor exactly it's not that the people are necessarily bad or good, it's that bad ideas are destructive and those who feel vulnerable are most susceptible to adopting them. Both Daniel and Jonathan we're vulnerable because of their situations as kids. The pitfalls (bullying) weren't necessarily socioeconomic, that's why they are different but same... both were bullied and found ways to defend themselves..." no such thing as bad student only bad teachers" with bad ideas. The martial arts are means of self-defense, and learning self-discipline, control, confidence and creativity. They should not be used as tools to bully. This show is so on point it's very hard to believe that the message could be misinterpreted.

I really like how the season ended. Johnny is like a father figure to all the kids now but hes conflicting because he wants to be that guy for his son. And johnny and daniel actually have alot in common but refuse to admit because of their egos

I have a feeling they're going to join forces now that Kreese is back. Johnnys going to reject him and I think Kreese will start another dojo... you can tell Johnny knows he's not going to give in to Kreese by the way he tried to get Miguel to win the tournament fairly, and how guilty he feels about it after winning.

I do like that Johnny has changed a bit. He's more mellowed out, yet, when pushed, still a badass. I love that he doesn't care much for all this PC Snowflake crap at all. (IE: Telling his student to kick the crap out of that "pansy" in the tournament).

I watched the first episode, with the intention only watching a few minutes of it. Five episodes later, I realized this show is pretty damn awesome. I love the complete 180 they did with the characters, without turning Daniel into a complete bad guy. That would have been too easy. He's just misguided. And Johnny makes for a great guy to root for.

You know, as I watched the episodes I thought to myself: every single one of these episodes are going to be a classic. And they truthfully already are. This is one of those rare shows that you stumble upon like “Tales From The Crypt” or “Sanford And Son” where just about every single episode is considered a classic. This show is a real class act, from the strong storyline, to the expertly casted characters who effortlessly fit like a glove as if we’ve been watching them ALL since 1984. This show is just a class act, in a day and age when class seems like a dying art.

Loved it. I binge-watched the whole season in one sitting, because I could not stop watching it. If KZfaq Red gets more series like this, it will be worth the pay wall.

10 / 10! I also love the little "wax on /wax off" when you pause or play the show, and the lil' Karate kid on the progress bar! Everyone did a fantastic job!

Weird how I relate more with Johnny in this series. He seems more like a real person with believable flaws. Daniel is more of a Ned Flanders type with no depth or passion. Please continue to focus on Johnny’s story.
