Don't suppose you know how to adjust the belts without taking the whole side off ? It started making a clattering noise i assumed probably wrongly it was the drive belts but I'm having trouble getting the side off being that's it's up against another heavy machine. Any advice very welcome this isn't my area Or someone that knows these machines would know what is causing the clattering that sounds like it's missing the links in a chain wearing out the cog but it's all assumption.

Hi Valeryie, I am sorry, the adjustment is achieved by moving the entire motor mount using the adjusting bolts. Access is only possible by removing the motor cover. As this lathe is close to another machine the only way you can do this is to physically move the lathe forwards enough to gain access, a pain I know but not so bad when you get started.
