Fun fact: Many of the people who worked on this show went on to create Studio Bones, the same studio that made Fullmetal Alchemist, My Hero Academia, and Mob Psycho 100. In fact, the guy who does most of the action animation in this show is the same guy who animated the Deku vs Todoroki fight.

This is one of those shows that I am amazed came out in 1998 because of how good it looks but there are certain episodes later on that makes realize it is a 90s anime.

I was not aware of the fact that Bones did FMA (both versions). They are an absolutely legendary studio and easily joint with Madhouse as my favourite studio working today. Soul Eater, Space Dandy, Mob Psycho, MHA, FMA: Brotherhood... Eurgh that's a dirty resume.

The team behind this (Director - Writer - Composer) did Macross Plus before Cowboy Bebop. It was a 4 episode OAV and later released as a movie. It's great to see (though the BEST way to see it is to watch the first 3 eps of the OAV and then the finale of the movie (picking up where Ep 3 left off).

I was lucky enough to watch Cowboy Bebop during its original airing, when I was just a teenager. It still stands as one of my all-time favorite anime series. It's a timeless work of art. And Rick is right; the intro and outro songs (Tank! and The Real Folk Blues) are _much_ longer than what's shown in the episodes. It'd be worth your time to listen to the entire soundtrack; some of its songs have been a part of my daily life for over 20 years.

I think he was probably comparing to how the songs were _in the episodes originally,_ which is to say, the standard "TV size" of 90 seconds (although "The Real Folk Blues" actually goes a few seconds longer, at least in the version I have). That's still cut down, of course (the songs usually have a full length of around 3 to 6 minutes), but they were cut _even further_ in the version they saw here, no doubt so the networks can make more money on ads or whatever.

Bebop is a style of Jazz (that makes up most of the soundtrack) which became prominent in the 1950's. That's what it's based off of

I saw Steve Blum in person (voice of Spike) at Ichiboncon in Charlotte, NC early in January. He's a cool dude. It's a shame they didn't make more Cowboy Bebop eps.

(Mexican here) Carnitas are a specifically spiced, diced hot meat (sometimes pork but more often then not turkey) that fills tacos. My nana makes them all the time and there the best- and if a Cowboy Bebop themed restaurant made Carnitas I can die happy👍🏾

Yes! FINALLY! ❤ I think you guys are going to have a blast reacting/analyzing each episode since the majority of them are self contained stories, but there small reference drops to Spike's backstory that lead to amazing payoffs in the later plot centric eps. Also, the soundtrack is FANTASTIC and I cannot reccomended it enough just listening to it on its own. Yoko Kano is a legendary composer, and The Seatbelts are amazing as well!
