Join Wranglerstar in this riveting special episode of the "Cozy Log Home DIY" series, where we tackle the critical task of reducing wildfire risks. Watch as Cody sets his fence line on fire using a USFS-approved drip torch, a necessary step to eliminate unburnt fuel during the peak woodland fire season.
In this detailed guide, Cody drives his Honda Pioneer while pulling a QTAC Fire Trailer, demonstrating the precise method of lighting grass on fire with a mixture of gas and diesel fuel. Learn how he prevents the fire from spreading by strategically using his WATERAX fire pump equipped with a reliable Honda engine to dampen the surrounding area.
Wranglerstar is not just managing fire; he's teaching the art of safe and controlled burning based on USFS techniques. This episode is packed with practical tips on how to monitor wind conditions and manage a burn effectively, ensuring the safety of your land and nearby areas.

@@Shiba1A1128 That's fine. When it grows back, it grows back green and makes poor fuel. Fire is a normal part of the natural world but we've been taught to fear it if it's not being used for making smores or burning construction scraps.

I know nothing about wild fires etc., but I’m just wondering from my position of pure ignorance and curiosity: since this fence is up against a road, if the road doesn’t interrupt a creeping fire, how would this strip of burnt grass be more effective? Obviously that wouldn’t apply to the fences not near roads. Thanks in advance for helping me expand my understanding!

Noticed last night it was posted. Went to watch... set to private, glad you fixed it. You keep saying a prescribed burn... I've never heard that before, controlled burn, yes. Is that a Westcoast Man thing? Nice seeing you prepared to extinguish a runaway. When i was a younger man, neighbor did a controlled burn on some ditch banks... got his own house and if not for my father running a disk on the tractor in a close field, they would have lost the cows as well. Put some asparagus in the ditch, burn it before the spears come up.. easy pickings.
@jnorth3341
@jnorth3341 Ай бұрын
Technically they are pretty much the same. Prescribed burns refer to burning wildland fuels for land management, whereas a controlled burn is ANY burn that is controlled. So all prescribed burns are controlled burns but not all controlled burns are prescribed burns. For example, you can donate your house to the fire department for training (in some areas) and when they burn it down for training purposes, it will be a controlled burn (don't want to burn down the neighbors), but it will not be a prescribed burn.

I do this in my yard all the time. What I do is I take a hoe or shovel and make a break in the vegetation so the fire is contained and also pay attention to the moisture content not to dry not too wet just perfect. And I usually do it before it rains. Pay attention you'll learn a lot from the fire and how it reacts trust me it wants to work with you. Cheers

For the most part it looks like every job you do you end up walking the whole job about eight more times than you normally would have to just to move cameras around. That sequence of you going to and from the tent was a bunch of set up. Most people go to the tent to grab something take 4 1/2 minutes. Takes PROhO an hour and a half. Just wanted you to know your efforts were appreciated, Always such a beautiful composition. Tell Mrs. wrangler star we miss her presence in the videos.
