Where are we going? We are cruisin' to the "future" of The Villages. Come with us as we cruise The Villages from Lake Sumter to the "future" of The Villages over a 5 part series of golf cart cruises. We will work our way south from the established areas of The Villages, through the areas that are currently under construction, and ending at the land that is yet to be developed..... The future!
In this episode we cruise The Villages from the Lake Sumter Landing to the Walmart Neighborhood market, touring and telling a few stories along the way.

Compare Dew Point from Va. to Fl. And that will give you the real difference in weather between the two states. You’ll find the Dew Point is considerably higher in Florida. That hi dew point gives you that “cut the air with a knife”.

That's my target year also...summer of 2025 unless my employer eliminates my job before then. I don't think in today's corporate world there is much demand for the 61 to 64 year old candidate.

@@DD-ee2nv I have been to The Villages several times since my friend bought a house there in 2012. I love it there. In fact I will be back in The Villages in July for 2 weeks. Have you ever visited The Villages? Wherever I end up spending my post retirement years, I plan on living in place where I don't need a snow shovel or ice melt for my sidewalks. Just wondering... if you have such a negative view of Florida why are you watching a You Tube channel about The Villages?

Thank you, it helps getting an idea how far things are. Could you do rides, starting from Sumpter to show route to Spanish Springs, do you have to cross busy roads or tunnels available. Also show the shopping whatever route it, where shopping is, Home Depot, clothing etc. Thank you

Once again, you two distinguish yourselves as outstanding videographers! The software you use to orient us and Brenda's helpful comments about the various golf courses, country clubs, etc. along the way make your golf car rides just wonderful. I found it funny that you mentioned Virginia as being up North Lol. I'm from Michigan and to us you are part of the South. It's all relative.

awesome video. Guess what, we had snow showers today. I agree with you, my wife and I went down in JULY of 2019 and it was not that bad, it was hotter in RHODE ISLAND than it was in FLORIDA.

As a fellow Rhode Islander I agree!! We went down to TV this past August and it was more hot and humid in Bristol by the bay than it was in TV. Had a miserable ride home from work in Providence today and will certainly not miss that ride! One more year 😊

I enjoyed your video. About 5 years from retirement. We are from Virginia too! Doing our research and dreaming now. How do you learn your way around? I feel like I would get so lost.

The best way to learn your way around is trial and error. Getting lost is half the fun of exploring The Villages. There are also apps and maps available to help navigate the paths. And everyone is always willing to help if you do get lost. Thanks for watching!

When I have visited The Villages and have gotten lost in the golf cart, jI just pull over to the grass on the side of the golf cart path. Within 5 minutes someone will normally stop and ask if you need assistance.

Loved the golf cart ride. You were smart to rent in The Villages for a month in July to see how you dealt with a Florida summer. I have visited The Villages several times in the summer for that reason. I am planning to rent for 2 weeks in July about one mile south of 466, not far from The Villages charter school. There is a frozen yogurt store on 466A n one of the shopping centers near Colony Cottage. You put your own toppings on the yogurt. It's very good. It's wonderful that Brenda's mom enjoys living in The Villages. I am enjoying your channel very much.

The frozen yogurt place near Colony Cottage is called Peachwave. There is also Olllie's Frozen Custard near The Villages Hospital, which I have never tried, but I have heard is very good. Restaurants are my landmarks. LOL.

Hi guys. Love all the tv travel videos and especially with the golf car. Your videos are the best for newbies like us to navigate tv. We started with Skip/Sue and then Jerry/Linda. So we will be arriving in tv on the 18th brown wood. My only concern is which roads are shared by golf carts. And how do you video all that telemetry info? Fantastic. Best to all.

Thank you for the compliments. I will admit that we prefer the multimodal paths over streets that share the rode with golf carts, but it would be almost impossible to have multimodal paths to and from every destination. The paths mostly move between Villages then usually you would share the road with cars using a golf cart lane. It still feels safe, but we just enjoy the paths more. As for the telemetry info we use a combination of software to extract and process GPS data from a GoPro camera. Thanks for watching!

Is this the Wal-Mart off Moyer Loop? Also the yellow line on top on the video is that the mileage to destination?

Yes that is the Wal-Mart off Moyer Loop. The meter at the top is the total distance traveled for the golf cart ride. Thanks for watching!

I try to put in mind how far from squares places are, I'm familiar with Sumter and it's good to see when looking for places to rent, like you showed Villiage of Caroline that gives me idea how far to square. Also the grocery store, I think it was the one we got to off old camp( near golf cart store) there was a grocery store. Was planning to be there but things fell through😔 I live the dream through you guys.

Are there Plazas in every villages?

No, they are strategically located throughout The Village, but not in each Village. For example Magnolia Plaza is in Marsh Bend, but it is the closet Plaza for almost all of the Villages south of route 44. that would be about a dozen Villages that would probably use that Plaza. Unfortunately not. We shop at Sam's Club near Spanish Springs on route 441 by car. It is just outside The Villages. But Walmart supercenter and Walmart neighborhood market are golf cart accessible. Thanks for watching!
