Got the motor mounts finished up in the last video so now we are getting the transmission mount mocked up after working out some issues.

I think I would have considered moving the transmission mount mounting brackets on the transmission tunnel. It would have centered the weight of the transmission on the mount and been a whole lot better looking than this cobbled mess you came up with. Sometimes the easiest way is not the best way. By welding those washers on the ends you did away with the rubber bushings. You added vibration to a mount designed to reduce vibration. Your whole concept was mistaken and ill advised at best. Start over and do it the right way.

Looks like you've been doing pretty good. I'll have to follow this along since I'm wanting to do something similar myself. Are you planning to modify the engine in any way or just running it stock?

Thanks bro!! I thought about maybe doing a mild cam just for the lope but I think I'm going to run it stock just to make sure everything can take the increased torque and power (mainly the rear end and transmission). After that maybe a turbo 🤷‍♂️ just depends how she wants to behave lol

@@likablemichael I agree with you on handling the power. From what I've seen from a bit of research, you'll most likely want a bit more aggressive cam and new springs if you want to put a turbo on it. With as little as 8 pounds of boost, expect it to push over 500HP at the engine. I was looking at a TH400 transmission myself. You will also need wider rear tires to handle that much torque without spinning constantly.

@@TravisLunceford I’ll definitely look into a cam and springs since I’ll have to pull the engine and transmission out at least one more time to install the clutch 🤷‍♂️ I don’t know if my transmission will hold that much power but she’s getting some wider tires all the way around after I get it running and driving 👌

@@likablemichael If you haven't seen it yet, check out this channel: kzfaq.info/love/8uf_zVTV63l1-uRSx6XbnQ He's ran and tried almost everything when it comes to an LS motor. It gave me a lot of food for thought on what I could possibly do. And yeah, making sure everything else on the car can handle that much power is the hard part from what I'm seeing. I can easily get in the 750+ HP range, but I'll have to replace most of the car to be able to handle it. I'll probably be shooting for the 500 range myself.

What oil pan do you have on it? stock? truck or car? Also what intake are you planning on using?

I went with the Holley 302-1 retro fit oil pan and a low ram intake from summit. They were a bit pricey but I needed the clearance 🤷‍♂️

What flywheel and clutch did you use ?

Flywheel came with a clutch kit I got off ebay, XTR stage 3 or something, for a 4.8L 1500

@@angelcastro4983 Yep, you might have to remove a couple dowel pins and get a different pilot bearing but otherwise it bolts right up 👌
